I use a ton of mods ( I have not played a vanilla game in over a decade ) and yes the tech tree is changed

@kensw It obsoletes with Combustion like the normal Ironclad! Are you using a technology tree mod?

Jokisen/ironclad special unit becomes obsolete with telephone ? The Next tech - I had not built one yet and it was obsolete long before it's replacement destroyer comes along .

oh shit based update

I had a lot of fun with this civ. Once the industrial era hit and I was able to build both the UU and the UB, things really took off.

Really fun civ, fantastic colors.

@Everyone Huge update for Ezo just hit! You'll find it almost a brand new civ. I've learned a lot about modding over nine months since I first released this, so I'm happy to be able to give it the polish it deserves. New UA and UU effects, a brand new UB and lots of new 3D graphical changes as well. Take a look in the changelog or look on the wiki to see everything that's been updated.

I expect he prefers the Freedom ideology. :D

@troodon25 I will look at that, I just played a game with them both and noticed the similarity.

I originally changed it from navy blue & white, since that was too close to Portugal. Maybe an even deeper grey for the background?

@Doctor G It was originally production from Tundra tiles, but I changed it because that was a lil broken. I wanted to give them lots of production-y things because their whole schtick was about building up Ezo in case of a Russian attack, and they just so happened to need something for their UB

Something of a request- Could you change the colors, to be more distinct from Germany?

why would a star fort invented in thw 1800s have anything to do with producing more sea resources? i mean a bunch of rocks and dirt does not normally fish?

This era of Japanese history is my great passion, so seeing this mod warmed my heart a little. I'm legitimately surprised Emperor Meiji hasn't been used as a leader for Japan in any of the games thus far.
