i would be very happy if this mod was updated, its so much better then the current way you have to handle births.
florida mans sky 2 Sep, 2018 @ 3:43pm
Definitely needs an update
Wolfschadow 29 Aug, 2018 @ 2:25am
The mod has to be adapted to the current game version.

Ok I found the problem : child are not just concerned by the "child" parameter but also the "no specialisation" one. But still the forbidding children didn't work...
Nacira 17 Jul, 2018 @ 6:20am
I have a problem. First of all, for an unknown reason, my children prefer to live in appartment/residence or anywhere else than the nursery in one of my domes. So, after installing this mod, I had a baby boom because even if I had more children than the nursery places, the nursery was empty and since it wasn't filling up, I had effectively no births limit...
And of course, forbidding birth didn't work. So after about 3 sols, I had 25 more children ! Too many... I reloaded the save before installing this mod. :(

+1 for an update please!
Rennoch 17 May, 2018 @ 11:22am
is there going to be an update to this mod? it's been a while, and the problem josh mentions still exists. :(
Vinik 28 Apr, 2018 @ 3:18am
It Already work like that i think :) ? With nurses.I Got babies in less 2 days from start with doctor too :D Infirmary reduce birthcontrol limit
Nucleotides 14 Apr, 2018 @ 8:57am
Without this mod I've been using the system of putting nurseries and universities in a dome to make useful people then I don't allow kids anywhere but in the dome that i want them to grow up in. However, if you run out of place for the kid they will just go wherever there is a place to live regardless of if you want them or not. What I would really like, and don't know if it's possible, is a way to fine tune my growth rate so I can match the rate of retirement to keep my work flow where it is at or increase it for expansion periods.

However, this game has a lot of micro potential without a lot of useful tools for good micro.
Stocky 13 Apr, 2018 @ 5:52am
I understand, but I believe your solution your will work. Will try it later today. Thanks.
clef-san 13 Apr, 2018 @ 2:55am
@Stocky: just to be clear: I was asking HIM (Josh) if he knew if that might work. I haven't tried that yet either due to lack of time before the weekend, so I'm not sure what will happen with my idea. wish you the best of luck though ^_^
Stocky 12 Apr, 2018 @ 7:18pm
That's a good workaround, I'll try that tomorrow.
clef-san 12 Apr, 2018 @ 1:34pm
@Josh: i have the same problem. based on the wording of your post, I assume putting a nursery in every dome, allowing childbirth and setting filters to forbid children to live in all but a designated nursery&schooling dome would be a usable workaround until the problem is fixed?
Josh 11 Apr, 2018 @ 11:07pm
This mod doesn't seem to work anymore... domes without nurseries will not have children at all anymore, even if there is space in a birth dome that has nursuries... since latest update that allows you to toggle births in domes.
Stocky 9 Apr, 2018 @ 4:50pm
True, if I catch it fast enough (before a child is born), but thanks, I'll try that for now, and keep an eye on the nursery.
Kyun 9 Apr, 2018 @ 4:22pm
@Stocky you can also right click on the left-most child slot in the nursery to turn all of them off (the slots turn red).
Stocky 9 Apr, 2018 @ 4:15pm
With this Mod, if you want to stop births altogether, you destroy or turn off the nursery, correct?

But, I have little room left in my dome, so I don't want to shut off the nursery. I'd like to stop births, and let the nursey empty as they grow older, without new births happening.

With the new patch, and the ability to forbid births, I thought if I forbid births in a dome that has a nursery, it would do exactly what I'd like. Unforunately, even if you forbid births in a dome, if there is a nursery in there, your mod will over rule the forbid birth mode.

Is there a way you could keep everything as is, but let the new option to forbid births, over rule your mod by having births only if there is a nursery?
jztemple 7 Apr, 2018 @ 6:37pm
@FireRat yup, you do if you want to make sure you don't have more children than nursery slots. The new patch only allows you to enable or disable births by dome, you still can have too many children than slots.
BelZeqihr 7 Apr, 2018 @ 4:03pm
Ya I'm wondering if I still need this mod?
SkiRich 5 Apr, 2018 @ 2:50pm
With a new Spirit Patch, is this still compatible? I was wondering if this can compliment the new child birth controls?
Thorik  [author] 5 Apr, 2018 @ 12:37pm
Please read the discussion "How to report bugs" and follow the instructions there, thank you.
Thorik  [author] 5 Apr, 2018 @ 12:31pm
@jztemple: I agree, my mod allows you to control population growth rate, vanilla gives only on/off manual switch.
@Lite: For the better, it gives you more control.
「 LiTe Em uP 」 5 Apr, 2018 @ 11:50am
how is birth behavior with this mod and april 4 update working??? for better or worse?
jztemple 5 Apr, 2018 @ 11:34am
The new patch adds an option to allow or disallow births in any particular dome, but I still prefer your mod because it limits the number of births without me having to enable/disable on a dome by dome basis, plus of course without the mod it's still possible to have more children than nursery slots.
Reeve 4 Apr, 2018 @ 9:36am
Thanx for making this mod my way of saying thanx is I made a video for you.

@Burr If there is a nursery in the dome where a baby is being born, it will use this nursery. If there are no nurseries in the dome, the baby will use a nursery in a designated birth dome (there is a button for it in the dome interface). The baby does not migrate ; he is born there instantly.
Burr 4 Apr, 2018 @ 6:57am
First off, Love this mod. Question about getting the maps births all to one dome. You said " Birth Domes are only used if there are no free slots locally."

Little confussed because if theres no free slots, they shouldn't be having babies right? If I set only one open slot, and its gets filled, that means that no one else will have ababy right? How do I get them to a birth dome.

Thanks
Diedel 3 Apr, 2018 @ 11:53pm
I had the migration loop with my first game without any mods
blindcoder 2 Apr, 2018 @ 3:26am
I've just had a migration loop between two close domes, turned out I wanted (thumbs up) Scientists in both domes, so they migrated back and forth. Might have been amplified by Smart Migration mod.
Thorik  [author] 2 Apr, 2018 @ 3:15am
I've read that the game will sometimes create migration loops if you set the same filters to positive in many domes. Is this the case in your game?
OWL 1 Apr, 2018 @ 4:26pm
I dont have any other mods, if it's not the mod it's the game.
Thorik  [author] 1 Apr, 2018 @ 4:25pm
Not possible. Must be some other mod.
OWL 1 Apr, 2018 @ 3:48pm
This mod seems to create a bug where colonists just migrate constantly between two domes?
OWL 1 Apr, 2018 @ 10:37am
Saved my long term game from being ruined, thanks!
Neuq 31 Mar, 2018 @ 2:28pm
Thx for creating the mod! Fyi it seems to break the "Children born" counter for other domes
blindcoder 31 Mar, 2018 @ 3:52am
@SkiRich
Thank you! That's what I was hoping for.
