Is it compatible with pre existing saves?
Mustanaamiotto 6 Apr, 2021 @ 7:12am
What do you mean by "Scandinavians (except Finns)"?
Finns are not Scandinavian.
DeLorean 10 Mar, 2021 @ 7:28am
Does the Flemish Culture use Dutch names were there aren't any Flemish available? Or do they just use German or basic names for those?
fleurdelysandre  [author] 21 Sep, 2020 @ 1:58pm
I use AkelPad.
Kuro Max 20 Sep, 2020 @ 5:35pm
Alright. I actually started working on trying to combine the two mods myself... if you like, I could send you the two combined mods.
What text editor do you use by the way? I'm having a problem with Notepad++ where certain accented characters show up as black highlighted groups of letters, such as xE7 and such.
fleurdelysandre  [author] 20 Sep, 2020 @ 9:03am
No, I don't have such plans. Someone could combine both mods though, but I'm not ready to do that because I already have a task: I wanted to develop this mod in other direction. I'm slowly working on Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Mongolian cultures. I'm not sure when I'll finish it, but definitely not soon.
Kuro Max 19 Sep, 2020 @ 11:58pm
Any plans to ever add more languages to the New World continents? I remember a mod by the name of New World Colony Names did that, adding names to nearly every single province, but it's very out of date and also clashes with this mod.
fleurdelysandre  [author] 15 Jul, 2020 @ 9:19am
Not working at all or somewhere exactly? When I've checked the mod after update it seemed to be alright
Dank_Engine 1 13 Jul, 2020 @ 11:40am
The turkish exonyms aren't working, is it a bug ?
CrimsonKing 10 Jul, 2020 @ 4:02am
Yes, thank you very much for the update, I hope you do not abandon the mod, and continue to please us with content
Dank_Engine 1 10 Jul, 2020 @ 1:39am
thank you for the update !
fleurdelysandre  [author] 9 Jul, 2020 @ 12:26pm
Finally I did it, but I see some places need to be fixed, so there will be a little update soon.
fleurdelysandre  [author] 2 Jul, 2020 @ 9:44pm
I'm still working on it, I expect to finish it by the next weekend.
Dank_Engine 1 28 Jun, 2020 @ 9:21am
update ?
fleurdelysandre  [author] 15 Jun, 2020 @ 11:21am
Maybe in a week or two.
Koma 13 Jun, 2020 @ 9:22am
Update?
PWITB 23 Mar, 2020 @ 3:46pm
Is it possible that I could make a mod and integrate some parts of it? Perhaps I could also expand it and add more that isn't in this mod and keep it up to date.
nfaaz616 2 Mar, 2020 @ 8:53am
My favourite was the Arabian names over all of the Mediterranean.
nfaaz616 2 Mar, 2020 @ 8:52am
I love this mod to death
nfaaz616 2 Mar, 2020 @ 8:52am
Hay, I love dynamic names.
Takeeh 1 Oct, 2019 @ 1:42pm
damn rip, sad to see that nothing more will be added, but why dont you try to give the project to someone else so that they may continue the mod ?
fleurdelysandre  [author] 23 Sep, 2019 @ 10:23am
Honestly I am tired of development of the mod and I am just going to keep it up to date. I don't want to abandon it completely because I have already spent a lot time on it, but the game itself doesn't interest me anymore so I don't have enough stimulus to expand the functionality of this mod.
CrimsonKing 20 Sep, 2019 @ 5:19am
Yeah, okay. You can wait until next week. But the question is, will there be further development of the mod, and not just an update for the new version? Well, sort of increasing the number of provincial names for different cultures, the American provinces are the same
fleurdelysandre  [author] 20 Sep, 2019 @ 3:06am
Yes, but not very soon. Maybe by the next weekend, if I will have enough time. Or later.
CrimsonKing 18 Sep, 2019 @ 7:36am
Will there be an update for the new version?
mdk31 29 Jul, 2019 @ 10:09pm
Do you plan to add other nationality names for the Americas? Specifically German and French?
Anglo-Saxophone 23 Jun, 2019 @ 5:50pm
Also for the Mughals I would suggest using the Urdu name (Mughliyah Saltanat) rather than Gūrkāniyān, as that refers to the Timurids alone (and you don't have to be a Timurid to form the Mughals), also Urdu is a persianised Hindustani language (Hindustani cultural group is the primary cultural group in the Mughals) and well...what happens if somehow the Timurids are still around when you form the Mughals?
Anglo-Saxophone 23 Jun, 2019 @ 4:53am
This is really minor but the name of the K'iche' should just remain as such, "Qatzijobʼal" refers to the language alone, which translated literally means "our language."
fleurdelysandre  [author] 19 Jun, 2019 @ 12:50pm
No, this mod is not compatible with any mod which changes province names.
CrimsonKing 19 Jun, 2019 @ 11:40am
@mdk31, for the provinces in America there is a separate mod, called New World Colony Names, try it.
And by the way, the author, @caphyre, you do not know, your mod and New World Colony Names work fine together?

fleurdelysandre  [author] 4 Jun, 2019 @ 12:25pm
Okay then. Anyway I have discovered that some files in the game directory were updated in February, so this mod will be updated too.
Muad'Dib 3 Jun, 2019 @ 3:59pm
@Arcian, that was regarding another version of the mod
@caphyre, Surprisingly the mod does seem to work now! The reason I hadn't checked prior was because I downloaded it shortly after Golden Century came out and had problems. I then uninstalled the mod and waited till it would be updated, but today after checking (it still says last updated December 2018 which is strange) but all countries (GC included) are all toponymically named. Thanks for the great mod!
fleurdelysandre  [author] 3 Jun, 2019 @ 10:31am
Oh sorry, I forgot to update the mod. I think it will be ready nearly at this weekends, maybe earlier.
Trin 1 Jun, 2019 @ 3:46am
look approximately 2 comments below your own
Muad'Dib 31 May, 2019 @ 9:42pm
Is this mod dead? I find that some nations in Golden Century onwards that exist in Mesoamerican don't have names at all as a result of them not existing in the mod.
Morrolan 17 Mar, 2019 @ 2:46am
@caphyre: I've made a compatibility patch between this and The Idea Variation: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1685516447
fleurdelysandre  [author] 2 Jan, 2019 @ 7:03am
I cannot update it, even adding remote_file_id in .mod file doesn't help. I have reuploaded it.

dampirismos 25 Dec, 2018 @ 5:32pm
Could you please update the version that doesn't change the country names?
AlexSSB 25 Dec, 2018 @ 12:35pm
I think 'Kiyev' (revolter tag) should be renamed to Kiyiv as it pronounced in Ukrainian
Technophile Max 4 Nov, 2018 @ 8:32am
Okay, so, basically: EU4 and all Paradox games with workshop support released before EU4 don't download/update mods until you open the launcher. Meaning you have to open it two times to get the mods properly.
fleurdelysandre  [author] 4 Nov, 2018 @ 8:23am
I've tried to test the mod as a subscriber. First time I've failed to enable it too but then I've just restarted the game and checked the list of enabled mods: somehow it appeared as turned off, I've clicked on the mod for a second time and after that everything works properly.
Jasper the Friendly Ghost 2 Nov, 2018 @ 9:57am
Also it doesn't seem to download anything when I click subscribe, having checked the files
Jasper the Friendly Ghost 2 Nov, 2018 @ 9:45am
This mod doesn't seem to work anymore, none of the province or states names are changing

fleurdelysandre  [author] 19 Oct, 2018 @ 2:13am
Its name in Kazakh is Қазақ хандығы, that's why I think that this way of transliteration is correct.
Lewa263 12 Oct, 2018 @ 6:57pm
Is it intentional that Kazakh shows up as "Qazaq handyghy", with that second word in all lowercase like that? It looks fine on the map because everything shows up capital anyway, but it looks off in all the other UI locations.
fleurdelysandre  [author] 14 Sep, 2018 @ 10:29am
>Das Elsass (in älterer Schreibweise auch Elsaß, elsässisch 's Elsàss, 's Elses, französisch Alsace [alˈzas])
Ok, that 's is just an article.
Technophile Max 11 Sep, 2018 @ 11:16pm
Wikipedia must've made a typo. Elsatian is just a form of High German, Elsass is still Elsass in their dialect.
fleurdelysandre  [author] 11 Sep, 2018 @ 10:15am
It's written in Wikipedia that 's Elsass is the Alsatian name of that province. I don't know what to fix. Isn't it right?
Lewa263 9 Sep, 2018 @ 3:59pm
Thanks for updating, but you still haven't fixed the 's Elsass thing that the previous commenter told you about 3 months ago.
