The X2 version is essential for me.
I did various tests, adding, switching and removing the different versions during an ongoing campaign and it never caused any issues.
And yes if you add it to an ongoing campaign it is supposed to put you back as the requirements of the next ritual (and every other ritual) double upon loading your save. Removing the mod will return them to their original values.
Maybe i misunderstood what you meant but slowing down the ritual progress is the intention of this mod. It does not speed up your plaque production. So you might be looking for the opposite mod.
the table you need to change the resource cost is "resource_cost_pooled_resource_junctions_tables" . In there you can change the values for "wh2_main_ritual_vortex_1" and 2,3, etc. to set the required amount of resources.
I did also use "pooled_resources_tables" to extend the default limit of 9999 ritual resource units however since you're decreasing them you should not need to change this value.
I didn't touch the rituals themselves or their duration so unfortunately i dont know where to set the length but you could always open the assembly kit and do a global search for one of the ritual IDs like "wh2_main_ritual_vortex_1" and see where that leads you. This is the way I use to find out about the possible locations of entries related to your search term and their connections.
