would love to see a recruitable combat version as well, something akin to a bonedog in capabilities maybe? could also be a good use for the smaller version textures? possibly could even be sold at the same vendors?

@FoxyAndris Released a small fix for it that "should" fix the ragdolling, and made it bleed out a bit slower.

@J'oo hehe, got to say that put you in some nice roleplaying situation. Yeah, I will probably revisit this mod one day. I am currently not playing the game for a while since I am busy with work and stuff. But glad that people still show interest. Maybe someone will fork my work by the time I get to this and they fix it :)

Yes, I have to report similar issues than people are reporting still as of 06/05/22. They "bleed" oil crazy fast, so despite their 400+ hp (except forearms) they go down in like three hits. AND THEN THEY GO RAGDOLL FLYING AROUND THE MAP because they're too huge >_< I have to "carry" them until they wake up so I won't lose them. (The first time it happened my spider ended up near Black Desert City. I was in the southermost ancient workshop with all the security spiders. (Which are all much stronger than my pet spider ;_; lol)

When it drops unconscious, it flies off the ground all over the map in a "rag-doll" configuration for up to 5-10 minutes. When it lands it can be anywhere. Also it is too big, and should have it's size reduced to somewhere between the original Mech size (SUV) and the security bot (German Shepherd), perhaps like the size of a Garu (VW bug) instead?

I hope the oil bleed get fixed... it bleed so fast to death so many times every part is round about 70% but it fly away because oil is empty. EDIT: It happens when left or right leg is hit and i become 7 arrows for oil damage.....

The spider flying off after KO is caused by the spiders hit box and its backpacks hit box colliding. Picking up the spider will keep it from flying away but if you dont have someone in elbow distance of the spider then pause the game and transfer the backpack to someone elses inventory or just drop it on the ground then pick up the spider and put his backpack back on while his being held.

Aurora that's part of the fun. I call that spider hunting for your pet :D It's out of my hands, it's a known bug that the game engine creates.

Typical_Name glad you could edit the desired values. Look on the bright side: you explore the world so much faster now :P Yeah, I doubt anyone can fix it without proper access to the core code of the game.

I dunno, I feel like a giant mechanical spider should at least be fairly durable. Anyhows, I was able to figure out how to edit the mod to reduce the blood loss rate. (I might bump it back up a bit, since at the time I made this change I was under the impression that the mechanical spider was unique, and I've since found more of them.)

The issue for me with the ragdolling isn't the weird animation, it's that sometimes, when they go unconscious, the ragdolling physics cause them to get flung long distances, sometimes across entire regions.

Typical_Name the ragdoll is an ingame issue. You can pickup the spidy to stop the weird animation, but that is the best you can do. Also it is meant to be a carrier not a fighter, so defending it is a priority in your caravan, that is the trade-off to its caring and speed capabilities.

I really like this mod, but the oil loss and the extreme ragdolling are big problems, especially put together (since it gets knocked out very quickly). The oil loss could probably be more or less fixed simply by reducing its oil loss from 1.00 to something much lower, like 0.1 (the amount normal skeletons get), but I have no idea how the ragdolling would be addressed... :/

ok i have trained her (spidi the spider) a little (filling her up with iron to train strength and carefully participating in fights and retreating in combat to get toughness)
toughness raises her max oil and after a while she can hold her own so that problem is taken care of

and you can pick her up so the ragdoll problem is fixed by that..

so this mod is fully recommended;)

great mod but Lottanubs is correct. It hat a ton of Hp but it goes down very fast because it has so little oil (or it bleeds so much) and when it does it starts ragdolling all over the map ( like 100m/s)

Wendigo you are heading in the right dirrection. I do not play the game anymore, but feel free to use my mods and alter them if you wish. if you are interested I have 2 great mods that I left unfinished that you could take over. One is a quest mod, with multiple choices and multiple endings and another is a hand drawn map of kenshi - fantasy style.

MasterCrumble you are free to alter the files as you wish. I do not play the game atm. You will have to move the mod files from the steam common directory into your game folder in order to modify them with the FCK tool. The mod folder id should be either: 1353390473 or 1552087465

Lottanubs I understand your concerns but they are out of my modding capacity. In fact, everything regarding the behavior and the the model itself are directly affected by the game. This mod only hacks into the AI and gives you partial control over it.

I've been using this mod for many hours, but I gotta say, I think the spider is way too big. I would enjoy it more at half the size. Who would build such a giant thing? :P It should be about the size of a bull or smaller, IMO.

I think this mod is great, it fits thematically with a sort of Skeleton diaspora game I'm doing atm.
Couple of nitpicks:

M (JOIN ME) I'm really sorry, but I do not play this game at the moment. The good news is that you can make these changes yourself by taking the files from the steam workshop and adding them in the mod file in your kenshi game folder and edit them with the FCK editor. It's easy to do.

Thanks for that mod, really good one. But i found 1 issue, when spider is in knockout, he's just fly away like a rocket, and i trying to catch him to heal... lol, it's fun but i guess it's not suppose to be like dis)

Omega try to check if the mod works without any of your other mods. Maybe something is overwritting it. Also, make sure you equip the correct backpack: 26x26, 8kg Backpack, Value: 6000 cats.
