Is this mod relevant for January 2025?
deepakg27 1 Jul, 2024 @ 4:21am
I want to load this mod with ESG , could any one please suggest the load order?
Centurio 14 Jun, 2023 @ 1:08pm
my brother and i truly love this mod!!
a question beside: is it possible to add a more challenging lvl? like true endless x2 or even a tripple of true endless?
Squaul 17 Feb, 2023 @ 3:17pm
So is this totaly compatible with ESG 1.5 or and Better AI empire infinite ?
Valius 22 Aug, 2021 @ 10:21am
Turn 26 and the academy is siege'in one of my planets O_o"
💖 Officer Hotpants 💖 8 Mar, 2021 @ 8:52pm
If you can balance the Academy you'll have surpassed the devs.
Kierk  [author] 6 Mar, 2021 @ 8:17am
Update : The mod works 100% with the current update (1.5.37) and doesn't need to be updated so I'll take my time understanding the new mechanics and how to balance the Academy faction before making any changes.
Kierk  [author] 6 Mar, 2021 @ 8:14am
@mrcoolize Good to know. I never disable pirates personally so I wouldn't have find that bug. You should probably report that to the devs so they can look into it.

And if you still want to disable the pirates, you can leave them enabled and edit the mod xml file to make them inoffensive e.g. PirateDifficultyMultiplier value around 0.1 instead of 0.4 ;-)
mrcoolize 4 Mar, 2021 @ 1:20pm
After further testing it seems like it only happens if the pirate faction is disable they respond normaly to the revolt hack if there is a pirate faction
mrcoolize 28 Feb, 2021 @ 6:57pm
No i had a custom faction. It not even revolts they actvely deal with those. They also attack normal pirates! But they do absolutly nothing for the hacking ones. I am just playing games without taking that option from now on. I also tried it on not TE AI and there is the same problem.
Kierk  [author] 28 Feb, 2021 @ 4:43am
Sounds like a problem with the Penumbra dlc and not the mod itself because I didn't change anything hacking-related. Were you playing Umbral Choir? The AI clearly have a problem dealing with revolts from what you describe but I'm not sure how to fix it. I'll try to replicate the issue and find another solution than disabling the Penumbra dlc.
mrcoolize 26 Feb, 2021 @ 9:41am
I won a whole game only hacking the True Endless Ai into them losing all their systems to pirates while doing nothing.
mrcoolize 26 Feb, 2021 @ 9:40am
I tested it further and they litteraly only attack the pirates siegeing their own systems if they pass by. I saw a stacks of 10-20 pirates lay siege to half a galaxy map without the AI doing anything beside suicide settlers to recolonise
Kierk  [author] 26 Feb, 2021 @ 3:10am
Update : Sorry for the delay, I have the latest two DLCs now so I will be able to update the mod in the next few days.

@mrcoolize Interesting. I'm not sure how it can be related to the mod but I'll look into it.
mrcoolize 22 Feb, 2021 @ 6:54am
I found a bug? I think. The AI fail to respond to pirates and the pirates spawned by the hacking of it capital. The AI just let the pirates fleets sieges down the planets and raze them. After they only tries to colonise it back with settlers without ever fighting the pirates.
Kierk  [author] 17 Feb, 2021 @ 6:15am
@mrcoolize What mod are you referring to? With unlimited command points (CP) the AI would probably just build a completely unstoppable fleet. Not very fun.

Without going overboard, you can always edit the mod xml file and give the AI more CP on True Endless difficulty (MaximumCommandPoints modifier, line 154). It works mid-game too.
mrcoolize 14 Feb, 2021 @ 10:23am
With an infinite fleet size mod, will the True Endless AI build : computer crashing amount of cataclysmic armadas?
Caos 28 Jan, 2021 @ 12:50pm
TY for your reply and your work :)
Kierk  [author] 27 Jan, 2021 @ 2:07am
@Caos It's compatible with the latest version, but to be sure I'm gonna test it again and try to fix Endless War by the same occasion.
If all goes well the mod will re-include the part of the script from Endless War that makes the AI more aggressive towards the player without always declaring war.
Caos 23 Jan, 2021 @ 5:29am
Hi does the mod is compatible with last version (1.5.37) and dlc awakening ? TY
djbaker 12 Oct, 2020 @ 8:45am
Ah I see. Thanks! Appreciate the quick reply
Kierk  [author] 11 Oct, 2020 @ 7:24am
@djbaker Make a backup of SimulationDescriptors[GameDifficulty].xml in your game folder and replace it the one from the mod. Or you can add it to one of the mods you currently use.
djbaker 9 Oct, 2020 @ 7:46pm
Thanks for this great mod! I love that the difficulty scales as the game goes on, I feel like the later game is exactly when the AI is no good.

In the notes you say the mod can be added mid-game... how do you do this? When I activate the mod from the mods menu on the ES2 opening screen, and then try to load one of my mid-game saves, it says I need to fix my mods, and I can't load the save game unless I turn off the mod.
Narnyay 25 Jul, 2020 @ 11:36am
cool stuff btw i was wondering you mentioned the buffs for the higher difficulties and said there's a buff to 'Serious' level too but those changes arent listed above like the others. do i assume it's like the impossible buffs but with a little less such as "+4 FIDSI per pop on planets" is +3 on serious?
Kierk  [author] 23 Jul, 2020 @ 4:12am
@Narnyay The last update changed the truce system, that might be why Endless War no longer works. I'll get around recompiling the mod to make it work by next week.
Narnyay 22 Jul, 2020 @ 7:23pm
your mod works for me fine on it's own but will fail to start a new game when i add your additional file from google drive
Kierk  [author] 22 Jul, 2020 @ 4:19am
@yutao123 It probably does but I haven't tried it with the new update yet.
The mod only give the AI better buffs to keep up with the player in mid-late game, it doesn't make them smarter, that's what the recommended mods are for.

BattleMod makes the AI smarter indirectly by making few gameplay changes like the added buffs to experienced crews, and Endless War , well, makes the AI gang up on the player. There is a less extreme version of that mod in my comment below. You should check it out.
yutao123 14 Jul, 2020 @ 1:34am
Is this mod working on current patch? i just played with it and the AI were still weak AF
LightenedDark 16 Apr, 2020 @ 10:25am
Is there an AI choice improvement mod that does not rely on buffs? I want to lose in a fair fights, not lose to AI that can do things I can't because of a cheat bonus.
Zane0 18 Jan, 2020 @ 7:56pm
I also haven't been able to get your modified file to work. Hangs on new game.
Kierk  [author] 1 Nov, 2019 @ 2:32am
@narimbur You need to copy the GameDifficulty file from the mod to your game folder so the mod is on by default. Backup the original file beforehand so you can revert later to play in multiplayer.
narimbur 21 Oct, 2019 @ 10:58am
Does not work. If I try to install it later in the midgame like you said before the games does not start. Im looking now 15 min or longer on a full blue bar...
Joke's on You 30 Sep, 2019 @ 2:31pm
is it possible to increase the ship damage from the AI or can i edit it myself?
Kierk  [author] 16 Sep, 2019 @ 12:40am
Update The mod now works with the latest dlc (Awakening). They've added an Aggressiveness modifier to the Academy so I'll have to test that before doing anything. Wouldn't want them to conquer the whole galaxy :steammocking:

And as a bonus, I have recompiled the Endless War mod without the forced diplomacy so the AIs are not openly hostile towards you, but secretly hate you and will backstab you sooner or later. The mod can be downloaded here [drive.google.com]
It replaces True Endless Difficulty so you can install/uninstall it mid-game. Just extract the folder to "...\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\392110\ and overwrite. To uninstall, delete the mod folder and let Steam check the game files.
Kierk  [author] 21 Jun, 2019 @ 9:05am
@tails Still works on my end, the mod should work until they release another dlc (it only changes one file now, excluding the localization file).
tails 21 Jun, 2019 @ 7:33am
Does it work presently? I remember it was written in the difficult settings "true endless", but now there is only "endless"
Kierk  [author] 29 Mar, 2019 @ 7:54am
@TaeSung They already have many bonuses, especially in late game where they can literally build a whole new fleet every few turns. Problem is they still don't know how to use them :steamfacepalm:

Try enabling Endless War in late game, it forces the AI to only attack the player. Also, the AI tends to perform better with Combat Balance, but the mod hasn't been updated in a while.
TaeSung 28 Mar, 2019 @ 7:22pm
Could you please make higher difficulty? (ex: true endless +, ++) or give additional bonuses for AI which increases when the game goes on? cuz in the late game AI bonuses become small, which makes the game loose as well as vanilla mod. Thank you for great and interesting mod.
Kierk  [author] 28 Mar, 2019 @ 3:01am
Thanks guys, appreciate it. I'm right in the middle of the game trying out the Hisshos and I'm looking to make a few changes so the mod feels more balanced or fair:
- First off, that "+4 Behemoth Limit" they gave to AI is just insane and will have to go
- Also, the added bonus to industry screws up dust inflation and the AI can abuse it with infinite improvements so I'm testing another way, like say up to +75% ship/building cost reduction
- And lastly, Serious difficulty will soon have the added bonuses too, as suggested
Данил 27 Mar, 2019 @ 7:05am
Thank you so much. Vanilla difficulty is a kindergarden.
tails 7 Mar, 2019 @ 1:13pm
thanks man, really a must have mod
Kierk  [author] 6 Mar, 2019 @ 11:44pm
@haxor Fixed! The mod should be compatible with Penumbra dlc now ;-)
tails 6 Mar, 2019 @ 5:18pm
It seems there is a bug with Off-World Agribusiness tech: diplomacy with minor civilizations becomes free (it is possible to make 100/100 relation with minors in 1 turn)
Kierk  [author] 4 Mar, 2019 @ 12:55am
The Endless War mod does sound great. You couldn't change the AI before so I only gave them more advantages over the player to try to make them more prevalent mid-late game. Obviously it doesn't suddenly make them smarter, and improving the AI directly looks way out of my league.

By the way this mod should work with Endless War, and any other mods for that matter, since it only changes the GameDifficulty (AI bonuses) and MinorRelation (Manpower fix) files.
Vampatori 3 Mar, 2019 @ 4:34pm
The Endless War mod is an example of how to develop the AI. What it does is have all AI factions ally with each other and focus their attention on you. Which, of course, should increase the difficulty of the game. However it doesn't improve the AI strength or behaviour in any other way - so it's still limited.
Joke's on You 28 Dec, 2018 @ 11:34am
even though you wrote the mod is complete

Amplitude Studios released a mod example for the AI called Endless War [Amplitude Official AI Modding Example]

Is it possible for you now to make the AI better ?

I think the AI is pretty stupid from mid to late game!
Jesus Christ 29 Nov, 2018 @ 9:37am
Does this work with Enhanced Space?
koxsos 10 Jun, 2018 @ 9:04am
Yup, gave the new endless difficulty a re-run pretty much same experience:
Survive the early game, slowly and tediously beat everyone else up to a point where AI offers alliance and finish rest off.
Folly is still the AI's ship design and combat decision-making, otherwise it's mostly same experience as default game, just with more annoyance in the way.
punishaer 20 May, 2018 @ 2:43pm
Great mod, thanks a lot! I have to admit I am struggling with impossible difficulty. Would it be possible to add some progressive bonuses for the AI on serious difficulty? Like giving the AI the same bonuses they had on impossible difficulty plus your buffs? And the stats of the buffs decreased compared to the mod's impossible difficulty. That would be great! Cheers
Lord Hainz 8 May, 2018 @ 10:12pm
can you make progressive difficult????
