Each unit has its own subcategory, and the role of the spell is not to summon a specific unit but to summon a specific category.

Hello I know im a little late to the game and mod but how do you get this specialization I cant seem to select it when im making a custom leader

I think what you're saying is exactly what happened, because I have a mod that adds new wyverns and the spell manages to pull them up. It's not actually an issue. I was just curious how this particular interaction wound up happening.

So, it's been a while since i last touched this, but i went back into the files to check: The spell draws from i custom list i created that includes only fire, frost, obsidian, and gold wyverns. The spell really shouldn't be able to summon anything outside that basic list.

The list doesn't refer specifically to the units themselves, but to the unit specific lists the base game uses to refer to the individual units. By default, there shouldn't be a difference, since these lists each contain only one entry: the unit in question. But it is possible for other mods to replace them with longer lists that include multiple units.

If, for whatever reason, someone would have their mod replace one of these basic lists, that could interfere with the spell's list of summonable units. I couldn't say why someone would want to change one of the base single-unit lists, but it's the only explanation i can come up with.

Heyo. Long-time user of mod. I absolutely love it, even though it's a bit strong. Dragons are supposed to feel powerful, am I right? So thanks for this!

Anyway, I was just wondering what list of units Summon Wyvern generates summons from. Is it the reward list from Dragon dwellings? Asking because I've occasionally had it spawn things that aren't wyverns but are sorceror summons, though I do have other mods that introduce lots of new units to the game.

hello there, this mod is awesome and i like it alot :) one thing i wanna ask though, do you share the files for this mod to be edited, just for personal fine tuning and learning how you did stuff in this mod or don't u wanna share the files ? just asking, if not, its ok :)

This mod is AWESOME! I absolutely love it. As a newcomer to the AoW series, I thought that the race and class systems were really really cool, but the specializations left me feeling so underwhelmed and frustrated. Dragon Heart is now an auto pick every single time I play the Draconians. Thank you for this wonderful bit of spice in what I feel is the game's most lacking area!

Oh my...by akatosh and gregori- this mod is sooo goood!!! I think we share this unhealthy obsession...now...what do i have to do to make you improve this mod by adding a choosable dragonform for your hero? Like Gold/Obsidian/Frost Dragon. And i think it wouldn be OP to be able to summon a dragon as ally via spell. Since the top tier of many speciallations let you summon such big tier guys. Well...i guess it would be better balanced then when there is a "Dragon haert mastery"

Think of it as the perfect race for a "one city challenge" thing.

Funny you should say that, i tried to do that too. Spent, like, a whole day digging through game files and modding guides, but as far as i can tell, it's just not possible.
I had a lot of weird ideas for this mod, but the modding system in this game isn't very flexible...

I don't know how easy this would be but; would it be possible to make the dragon transformation type be dependent on the hero casting it? i.e an evil hero will become a obsidian dragon, golden for good, undead will become a bone dragon.

Oh, trust me, i tried. I tried everything i could think of to let you create dragon dwellings, but between the dwellings behaving very strangely and the game just outright crashing a lot of the time, i had to reluctantly admit it couldn't be done. Not by me, at least. It's a bummer, too, it would have been so cool!

For combat oriented classes such as warlord this mod rocks! However, I would suggest the following for your consideration:

Dragon Spirits Consider class spicfic effects ie. Sorcerors effects applied to Support units and not infantry. Expand effect to both monster and infantry units.

Invoke Draconic Mount - would be nice if there were variation in the potency of the egg summoned. ie - strong, epic, lengenday, mythic (get a young dragon to ride)

Summon Wyvren - cool, I dont use as much as I should becuase they always seem too squishy. would love to see summon Wyrm (ie dragon) mixed in. Perhaps tier 3 lesser wyrn (young dragon with evolve)

Unlesh the Wyrn - others have discussed the AI issues, I am interested in unleshing wyrm types such as Aspect of Gold, Aspect of Fire, Aspect of Ice, Aspect of Black, Bone, Storm... etc.

Take any or all of these suggestions. I have play many, many games wtih the mod, love it. was lots of fun. Hope to see more.

Leader barely use the transformation in auto can you make it more likely to happen
Tested it so dragon get the hero exp and the leader can still cast spell like he wasn't there so i guess it's good

This seems like it would work well for my dragonborn leader, but it feels like a couple of spells/upgrades are missing.......

Maybe an unrelenting force upgrade as either a level-up ability or as a researchable upgrade, and an ability to make your leader stronger the more dragons they kill. There was another I thought of, but it has since slipped my mind.

Regardless, this seems like a very cool mod, and I'm gonna sub.

You can hook any unit up to the polymorph effect, and you could totally have multiple polymorphs on the same unit. I think it might even be possible to give the player a combat spell that could polymorph any unit you control. There's a lot you could do with this!

Huh. That's something i didn't quite think of... I'm pretty sure that dragons are typically immune to being ghouled, i know lich aura doesn't work on them, and their mind control immunity also makes them immune to ghoul curse...
I guess that you magically come back to life again for the duration of the transformation... I don't know how that makes sense, but don't think too hard about it.
Actually, on second thought, you can have undead tigran mystics, yeah? Do they remain undead when they transform? 'cause if they do, being a ghoul might automatically carry over into your transformed state... Maybe.
I should probably test that.

Oh, i wish i could do that. I tried really hard to find a way to manipulate the type of dragon you turn into, but there's no way to do it without some real complex coding that would take forever to get into.
It's a bit of a bummer, but... Just the fire dragon's pretty cool too.

the Tome of Wonders has content but does not appear contextual,(click on unit to pull up Tome).

I usually play with Epic Mounts and feel that compare to that mode the dragonmount is balanced

That goes to show nobody actually notices percent changes in random numbers and you can really just tell them whatever you want XD

Whatever, i'm adjusting it to 10% and making sure it's actually 10%. i'd make it higher, but i don't want it to become a free version of the rogue treasure raiding spell.

Yeah, i had a bit of a hard time finding something to put as the specialisation's free bonus. Although tbh most of them are pretty unremarkable. Still, i get this one's maybe a bit too insignificant.
I see how reliably giving your heroes flying very early on could be an issue. I based the spell's balance off of the sorcerer egg summon spell, but since all wyvern mounts are legendary or greater, maybe an adjustment would be in order.

The specialization and all its research should show up in the tome of wonders automatically. It's how i got the pictures of the research for the workshop page, they're tome of wonders screenshots.
