if your unit is within 2 tiles of a frontier town, and attacks a unit not within 2 tiles of it, does it receive the combat bonus?

I decided to attempt a peaceful playthrough with this civ, just for the heck of it. It was actually quite fun. I took the reformation belief that lets you buy any great person with faith, and then pumped out a bunch of filibusters that way. The combination of all those extra resources away from my borders and the culture bonuses I got from each frontier town with all my bonds offices made for a fantastic late game.

@Karlshybones You can use them anywhere! They don't culture bomb like a Citadel though, they only claim a single tile.

do the frontier towns need to be adjacent to your territory, or can you build them anywhere?

@everyone just pushed out a small update! You'll find the AI Walker to be a little smarter with his UU and construction of Frontier Towns. I've also fixed a bug where he would be able to build Frontier Towns adjacent to one another, which the player isn't able to do. Check out the patch notes for more specific details!

Dude these are awesome! Keep making them

@pork bean - Thanks! There wasn't an "update" button like there normally is. But your second suggestion got me on track.

It didn't work when I tried just deleting it and relaunching the game. But after deleting it > unsubscribing > launching > Closing > Subscribing > Relaunching it was able to download normally. Not sure why or even "if" the added steps helped. But thanks for the assist, I really like the new Bonds Office!

@Gaboom really weird! I've just tried downloading with steamworkshopdownloader myself, it definitely gave me the current version.

You might try clicking the 'Update' button in the Civ 5 Mod list, or going into your Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/MODS folder and deleting Sonora from there. Then, once you let it redownload it should be the current version.

Yo Pork bean. I've tried downloading and Resubscribing as well as using "http://steamworkshopdownloader.com/ "

However, I am only able to download and access the older version of Sonora

@Everyone this civ has received a major rework! The UA, UU and UI have received overhauls, and a new UB has been added to syngergize with the Frontier Town. Check the change notes for all the details.

@keileigh091307 in that case I would recommend http://steamworkshopdownloader.com/

You can enter the URL and download it manually. Hopefully it should work and recognize your subscription so it can update. Not sure why it isn't working normally though, can you download other mods fine?

the mod does not show up in my Civ V mods folder. i unsubcribed, then re-subscribed. still doesn't show up
pork bean  [author] 28 Apr, 2018 @ 2:11am
@keileigh091307 That's odd, haven't had that problem so far. Sometimes you need to leave it a couple of minutes on the "Choose Mods" menu for it to update with your mod subscriptions.

Is the file showing up in your Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/MODS folder?
keileigh091307 28 Apr, 2018 @ 1:10am
the mod does not show up in my mods list . any explanation or solution ?

If you're interested in short lived states, you should consider the Republic of Rio Grande
Norton 25 Apr, 2018 @ 10:18am
For one unique unit you could make a vaquero. A vaquero is the Spanish/Portuguese word for what we call a cowboy. So he could be a replacement for calvary. As for how he'd be different maybe he'd be cheaper to make and have a small combat boost in open planes.

Thanks everyone for your comments! Glad to know there are people that share my interest in obscure failed states.

@Emperor Norton it's on my list! Been trying to think of some uniques for them, any ideas you have would be welcome. I'm probably looking at doing the State of Muskogee before that, as I think it has a lot of interesting potential as a hybrid European/Native American civ.

I'm loving your mods! You did a realy good job with this one, and I'm super excited to see how you do the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom!
Norton 24 Apr, 2018 @ 2:17pm
After the Tianjing Heavenly Kingdom did you consider doing the Republic of the Rio Grande?
CarlmanZ 24 Apr, 2018 @ 1:42pm
Aw yeah, these are awesome. Keep 'em going. Can't wait to see what's next.
troodon25 24 Apr, 2018 @ 8:26am
Wow. This is entirely unexpected. Props for the creative choice!

I have long had a fascination with failed states and would-be-revolutions, as they can lead to really interesting speculation on how things could have ended up- So understandably, I am very enthusiastic about this series of mods you are starting.

Good luck, and thank you for your fruitful efforts!
