Ayy nice work! Also thanks.

Done. I was also able to get it to work! I will send screenshots if needed in steam chat and I will add you as a contributor

Well alright then. Gonna add you on friendslist. Will make discussion easier for me due to notifications.

If I move them in blender, I can. After looking into that I think I can solve this weight thing.
Fruitcake  [author] 8 Aug, 2019 @ 9:18pm
Does that mean you can"t move the spines of the Jin model at all?
BurstIsMildlyOk 8 Aug, 2019 @ 9:10pm
l4d has 4 spines. The jin model has 2 but "spine upper" and "spine lower" don't have any weights.
Fruitcake  [author] 8 Aug, 2019 @ 9:04pm
Is that a bone with the exact name? I remember 2 spines, lower and upper I think. Or is it 3 spines?
BurstIsMildlyOk 8 Aug, 2019 @ 8:33pm
I actually am using the weight mixer, the main problem being is the weight "Torso Front". It's a mix of every single spine and it gives me a big headache of trying to figure out of splitting it for the spines
Fruitcake  [author] 8 Aug, 2019 @ 8:27pm
@BurstIsMildlyOk I greatly recommend not to do that because it usually messes up the weights and doesn't look as good anymore. The hard work is already done for you after all. It is way easier to repose than to reweight. Maybe you can try mixing the weights of the legs or torso. Try posing the model in either gmod or blender, see if any of it looks "off". Then determine what weights you should mix. http://builder.openhmd.net/blender-hmd-viewport-temp/modeling/modifiers/modify/weight_mix.html

I usually delete the original skeleton and use one of the survivor skeletons, posing the skeleton to match the new model, rename the weights of the model I want to use and maybe combine some to make it look better. But with all of the different weights going all over the place, I'm not even sure if I can do this or not. But I'll see what I can do.

I am not sure if L4D2 has any kind of bone merging thing going on, so maybe (again I am not sure) you may have to commit to either hoodie on or off with the appropriate hair for ONE model submission.

You also have to take care of the bone limits. I am pretty sure this model with hair and hoodie exceeds 128 bones. If it is several separate meshes you can get around this limit but if you are trying to merge all meshes to one model it needs to be less than 128. I am not sure if for L4D2 they upped the bone count.

Get back to me if you got any questions. I'll try to help but I can't promise you a lot of help since player models aren't my expertise. Also sorry for the late reply, timezone is 12 hours earlier than the US.

@BurstsIsMildlyOk Sadly no. I am not as active as I was before in workshop stuff (My gaming PC broke and GMOD now runs slowly for me on a crappier PC and I am frustrated with how slow workshop submission is). My best advice for you is to:

-decompile Jin's model to get his skin model
-try to pose Jin in Blender or other 3d modelling tools and copy exactly the rest or idle pose as a standard L4D survivor (Francis or Ellis might be a good reference)
-If you are patient or willing (unlike me) you can try using the helper bones to move the mesh so that it doesn't look like it bends weird, though I think it looks good enough even without the helper bones so maybe try leaving it as it is.

You also have to deal with the issue of Jin's hoodie. I had separated Jin's base model separate from 4 other meshes that are usually bone merged to his base model which are:

-hoodie on
-hoodie off
-hair with hoodie on
-hair with hoodie off

Are you able to make a version where it has the l4d2 bones/weights? If that's ok of course.
BurstIsMildlyOk 8 Aug, 2019 @ 12:49pm
The face flexes may not be included since I do not know how to do that yet, As for the skeleton, I'll try my best
Fruitcake  [author] 8 Aug, 2019 @ 5:55am
@BurstsIsMildlyOk Sure, though I do think that you will have to rename the bones and maybe change the names of some facial flexes. Can't do a straight port I'm afraid.
BurstIsMildlyOk 7 Aug, 2019 @ 4:21pm
is it ok I can use your mod for a l4d2 survivor mod?
