Sadly, an "unplayable" scenario for me. You may be unaware, but BNSF and BN content are unavailable to anyone outside the USA. As I am in the UK, I cannot (legally!) get around that!

Nice scenario, - thanks!!
best regards MO

I believe the Burlington Northern was formed by the merger of C.B.&Q., GN, and the Northern Pacific RR. :)

Thanks noeleong!

Since I am new at all this train scemario. I enjoyed even if it took my two nights to finish. I found after playing an hours or so. I begin making a lot os simple misstakes. Look not controling my speed. There were area I begin to get bored. Also I watched the speed decreased greatly and wondered, how in the world one keep the time table set. Not possible. Anyway, nice game. Keep it up, and I will continue to try them. Have a good day.
Sarku  [author] 26 Apr, 2013 @ 4:17pm
Yes I am aware about this szuzin! If you notice, most of the AI on the track after Summit are running at a low percentage so that they are moving when the player passes them. For the last train though, I under-estimated the time that it would take to get to Whitefish, and it was a critical mistake to put the train on the same track as the player.
SergZ 25 Apr, 2013 @ 3:49am
There is one small caveat: for each instruction in the scenario editor, the important parameter is specified as "efficiency." The default value for this parameter has is 75%, that is, assuming it's the player (or AI) will move along the track at a speed of 75% of the maximum allowed. AI certainly fulfills this requirement, the player may move more quickly, especially if the track if it is absolutely clear.

Thus, creating a scenario need to be very specific about the value parameter has efficiency. If you specify it, for all instructions as 100% (especially for fast riders, like you and me) then you would see a very different time expected arrival on all counts script. And it would allow the correct program behavior AI.
Sarku  [author] 24 Apr, 2013 @ 6:44pm
Thanks for the comment szuzin. In the future I'll take your advice! I myself am one of those racers though, so I am not sure about putting AIs on single track ;D
SergZ 24 Apr, 2013 @ 2:06pm
I liked this scenario. Near the end had to wait until the red signal over half an hour ;)

A little advice for the future: the way ahead train player must be busy train AI. The only way you can guarantee that the player will not go faster than you put in your scenario.

By the way, what have you got at the end of the scenario, just a working example of such a "synchronizer" - the player can not pass through a certain point of the way before the set time. In this particular scenario, you could be place the opposing AI trains on all single track sections. Then every boy racer (like me) will every come across on a red signal, as actually happens in real life. :))

I wish you every success.
sylgold 20 Apr, 2013 @ 11:16am
I think that you should change nothing.
Sarku  [author] 20 Apr, 2013 @ 4:49am
Ok well, since you guys are the ones playing the scenario, I want to ask YOU. Should I fix the scenario to where you don't need to fix the red signal, because I am confused about the mixed feelings about it :D, and also anthonytonna, & jimsinclair56 thanks for your comments!
jimsinclair56 19 Apr, 2013 @ 2:34pm
I enjoyed this scenario, gumballzx! I made great time to East Whitefish, and as others have mentioned, I had to wait about 20-25 minutes for a very slow eastbound grain train to leave the yard. My advice to everyone is do NOT be in a big hurry to get to East Whitefish because you're not going to see this grain train until about 21:20! The bottom line is I had no problem with the wait because it reminds me of 1:1 scale railroading. I finally arrived Whitefish station at 21:35, so I was about 5 minutes late. I've ridden the real Builder a few times, and except for one westbound trip, it's been sustantially later than 5 minutes at each station from start to finish, so..... Welcome to the real world of railroading! Thanks for an enjoyable scenario!
anthonytonna 19 Apr, 2013 @ 1:12am
Excellent scenario, enjoyed immensely, thought I make it with heaps of time, like the ending, look forward to mre regards Anthony
sylgold 18 Apr, 2013 @ 3:13pm
The red signal is not a problem for me : just wait for the other train to pas :-))
Sarku  [author] 18 Apr, 2013 @ 2:35pm
Thanks for the comment sylgold. I am really sorry about that signal, I'll get it fixed as soon as I have time.
sylgold 18 Apr, 2013 @ 12:14pm
Another excellent scenario. I love the end : I arrived at the red signal at 20:08 and I had to wait about 20 minutes. Arrived at the station at 21:30 :-) Thank you very much for this nice trip and the history lessons.
Sarku  [author] 18 Apr, 2013 @ 4:42am
Ok Trevw, thanks for informing me about this issue. I will take down this scenario within the next few days and fix this problem and maybe add one or two more historical facts :)
trev123 17 Apr, 2013 @ 9:31pm
Ok I arrived at the red signal at Whitefish at approx. 20-30 and had to wait for approx. 45 mins for the other train to pass before I could continue.
Rummy_Martin 17 Apr, 2013 @ 7:16pm
The signal is caused by a train up ahead that needs to pass first. It's a long wait because it's moving at 20mph.
trev123 17 Apr, 2013 @ 7:08pm
Fix it if you can but don't worry about it if you cannot as school work is more important.
Sarku  [author] 17 Apr, 2013 @ 5:10pm
Hmmm, debating on taking the scenario down and fixing this bug. I don't mean to sound lazy but I literally have no time for Railworks lately between school work and sports, and this is a long scenario and in order to fix it I have to test the scenario, being four hours long, and played it a few times. I'll fix this scenario as soon as I get my next scenario out which I am putting the final touches on. But like I said I have no time, and I am completing an essay as I type this :/
illi 17 Apr, 2013 @ 12:51pm
Same problem. The ETA and the distance to the next task freezes after Glacier Park. Red signal and the switches in front of the train causes a derailment. Tough great scenario indeed.
cor726 17 Apr, 2013 @ 10:15am
I got stuck at the same signal just short of Whitefish. Great run otherwise. It was my first run on Marias from end to (almost) end.
Sarku  [author] 17 Apr, 2013 @ 4:29am
That might've been the issue. That's the problem with long scenarios, I should have made this in two parts. Once again trevw sorry about the issue.
trev123 16 Apr, 2013 @ 8:03pm
Perhaps I arrived too early. I arrive at 2030 where in the game it says ETA 2130 and I wasn't speeding.
trev123 16 Apr, 2013 @ 8:00pm
Quarter of an hour.
Sarku  [author] 16 Apr, 2013 @ 5:37pm
Yikes, how long did you wait at the signal for?
trev123 16 Apr, 2013 @ 5:20pm
Did go through the red signal but got derailed because the switch had not changed.
Sarku  [author] 16 Apr, 2013 @ 4:12pm
You can save it, and I am not sure Trevw, this is probably a bug. Sorry for the inconvinience, if the light does not change in a few minutes feel free to go through it, I assure you no trains are on the track ahead.
trev123 16 Apr, 2013 @ 2:56pm
You can save it.
trev123 16 Apr, 2013 @ 1:50pm
How long do you wait at the red signal at the 20mph post coming into Whitefish. Great scenario though.
Grahlman1 16 Apr, 2013 @ 1:21pm
Can you save your progress on this scenerio or do you have to complete it without closing out?
Sarku  [author] 14 Apr, 2013 @ 3:18pm
Thanks Ted! & p_vindal thanks for the comment! I plan to make a few more scenarios soon with the SD75, SD70MAC, and Dash 9
Hawksfan19 14 Apr, 2013 @ 2:16pm
I will be sure to check them out! And yeah it was pretty funny! :P
p_vindal 14 Apr, 2013 @ 2:12pm
Ëxelent secenario, enjoyed the drive. Hope for some P42 soon, and secenario, with more rolling stock, like Dash9, SD75m, ES44, SD42, and so on :),
Sarku  [author] 14 Apr, 2013 @ 2:04pm
I appreciate the comment Ted! You can check out my other scenarios by checking out my shared files, I uploaded a new scenario earlier today! By the way, Ted was a funny movie ;D
Hawksfan19 14 Apr, 2013 @ 12:28pm
gumballzx, I loved it! The history you incorporated into the scenario made it a learning expierience while riding along! Look foward to seeing more from you!

I'm glad you enjoyed it jacob!

Yeah man ! It's a excellent scenario and nice history lessons during the run. Enjoyed !! Thanks, I hope other scenarios from you :)
Sarku  [author] 12 Apr, 2013 @ 12:56pm
Hey can you guys do me a favor? I am currently working on other scenarios, and my computer isn't really a gaming computer to say the least, so screenshots don't come that good. Do you think you guys can upload/send me some pictures of your Empire Builder, and I'll use them for the photo reel above? If you can it would be much appreciated!
Sarku  [author] 12 Apr, 2013 @ 12:51pm
@harjohn645 Thank you! I actually got to my house around 230PM, and Finished the scenario around 11PM. I am glad your enjoying it!
Sarku  [author] 12 Apr, 2013 @ 12:49pm
@michael.hooley thanks! That's the one approaching Essex if I am correct?
Sarku  [author] 12 Apr, 2013 @ 12:48pm
@scott_rules_666 Your comment is much appreciated! I know it is a long scenario, but the scenery and AI should keep you attentive!
Sarku  [author] 12 Apr, 2013 @ 12:46pm
@BNSF_Guy, I must have missed that, but since it isn't scenario-breaking, I'll just leave it in for now. Thanks for telling me about it though, and I'm glad you're enjoying the scenario!
WCRC84 12 Apr, 2013 @ 12:23pm
Excellent scenario! Was the gap in the AI train at about MP1125.4 intentional though?
harjohn645 12 Apr, 2013 @ 11:00am
great ride thanks for your efforts... you must have been up all night to put up this scenario so quickly!
