Most of the stuff i remember downloading custom textures and compressing into the file itself so you didn't have to.
But if i were to have missed anything, i can only think of maybe the old counter strike source game.
It's extremely unlikely that it'll be any time soon.
But when the time comes. i will be sure to redo the map to improve optimization, add features, and make it more build/combat friendly.
Just have been in a tight spot in life.
It's easier to reply to messages since it only takes all but 1 or 2 minutes.
but just adding minor things to a gmod map can take several hours. if not a few days if it's a huge overhaul or something, and with school and a near full time job. that's almost impossible.
If i were to say when i might have a chance to do something like it. it'd probably be when i graduate in june
I would've imagined trees and all the trenches with the props for sandbags would've
but for me, the water was a good 30-40 fps diference (I have a 144hz monitor) so it dropped it to around 90-100 sometimes.
But when people start spawning a few huge contraptions. it's not abnormal to be at 25-30 fps
if i remember it's pretty decent.
It doesn't use the whole 1km x 1km x 1km that the source engine allows.
but i'm thinking it's about half a kilometer that i let you build high, for optimization and FPS reasons for the average pc player on gmod.
I would've used the whole 1km up if it weren't for the water. lots of people like making boats, that and water makes the map feel better.
I haven't been able to really do much of anything.
College and working a near full time job at the same time has really soaked up near every single hour of my life leaving me unable to do the things i liked to do.
i usually only get 2 days of the week where i have atleast 4 hours of free time anymore and it sucks.
I wish i could continue to work on this map, but at this current time. It's impossible until i graduate, and or get another job. perhaps one where i don't work on the weekends
Lifes been busy and will be for a while
I've been very busy in life now.
I'm going to college while working a near full time job and i hardly have time to do anything unless i'm lucky enough to have a day off on the weekends.
Hopefully sometime in the future i'll have enough time to update this map into something incredible.
Or just start over with a new project when i'm done with everything in school
Great map btw.
Just fixed a few props floating in the air
Added some more terrain features in the mountain and hills
Added a new build area by the drag strip to be protected from the elements
Hope everyone enjoys it
And yes, i just realized after i uploaded the map and updated it, i noticed a floating tree by the trenches.
It's a magical tree so leave me alone
It doesn't listen to gravity
Update will be released soon
Probably a few days

I'm re-adding water (But it'll have poop water textures, it's basically "decent" water except it doesn't refract or reflect anything on it to save tons of FPS
And i'm adding train tracks in the map
do you like l a s a g n a ?

I'm not exactly sure if i want to keep the water removed (it seriously impacts performance, it DRAINS it)
I still have bits of the map i'm working on, and i plan on adding a bit more before i give it the green flag and release the updated map
for anyone curious about the new trenches
Thanks for the support!
For when i will do it. i'm not sure, it may be tricky for me because i've never done it before but i will try
You pretty much need water on a ACF build map so boats can also fight tanks and such or whatever.
or to build just boats if you want.
Just discovered the water was the problem...
I just got over 100 Frames boosted from compiling without water
So far I’ve removed atleast 35% of the static props in the map, reduced the power of some displacements to 2, and I’ve removed some areas that didn’t seem to have a huge impact on the map, so far it’s hardly done anything
At one end of the map looking towards the other end gives a steady 80 FPS (with my i5-4690k processor)
I have however noticed when looking at water that it sucks a large sum of performance so I’m looking into it at this second
I’ve temporarily removed all water in the map and am compiling to see what the performance is now
1 being that if it rests at 90 fps, it won't take much building or prop spawning to make it hit under 60
and 2, being i have a 144 hz monitor and i can see the huge difference from going to 90- back to 144 and back and it looks bad.
but 40 fps with a dozen acf builds doesn't bother me
however, 40 fps with just one build will so i'm like i said, trying my hardest to optimize with what i have and it's proving to be challenging.
it wouldn't be a problem if Hammer or really the source engine would allow the use of GPU and CPU power with gmod, and not just CPU.
You'll just have to wait till i finish the new update for the map.
I'm aiming for it to be released either in the next few hours (Unlikely)
or tomorrow
I've completely re-worked the trenches, removed the town and replaced it with something somewhat interesting, and i'm trying to optimize the map for the best FPS possible.
I'm aiming for the absolute highest frames possible for what the map is
I'm settling for a constant 150 fps or higher at the minimum and i've yet to suceed.
currently in some areas it rests at 90 fps at the highest which is unacceptable to me.
