Hm hard to say. I think, out of the 1600 hours I played SE in total, I spent ~1400 hours in creative mode, designing ships and stuff. I never really used like 90% of my builds in survival.
On most servers I built a nice little base with a medium sized ship and some kind of rover. I always liked the ranom encounter mod with the "corrupted" drones that keep attacking your base with different kind of drones.
But in the end it always ended up as an single player vs npc survival, although I was playing on mp servers.
Maybe I should try a real roleplay-server with limited building, where you are forced to play together.

Cheers. I think it's a shame that SE is largely pointless in regards to RP or having some kind of haulage contract mechanic. What do you actually use these ships for if you cannot RP with them?

Always nice to hear that people can use my stuff for something. You can use/alter whatever you want from my workshop :-)

Yeah I thought as much. I have actually built a cargo hauler based off of the Herc - but can carry 20 of your crates. Not sure it can land on planets yet... I'll let you know when done as you might enjoy the inspiration I have drawn from your designs. I have also attached the Grasshopper too I hope you don't mind - but they say imitation is the highest form of flattery. It's a shame there aren't servers where cargo links in with the economy. If there was then I'd be playing them.

@Pitch I tried a few times but most ores are way to common in SE, so every faction always has tons of every ore/ingot. Nobody ever needed my cargo-shippings. (or assistance in any way)
SE isn't very multiplayer/roleplay friendly, if you ask me. Not enough reasons to interact with each other after a few hours. But maybe I was just playing on the wrong servers.

Great work. Thank you. I wonder if you operate a cargo syndicate on a server?

UPDATE APRIL 2020:
- latest version of the Grasshopper attached
- added 7 atmospherical thrusters for better landing on planets (downwards only)
- updated LCD2 script to latest version

Yeah it works well because I have a lot of separate installations and generate a lot of my power from a solar plant in space
Hull Breach  [author] 17 Apr, 2019 @ 11:01am
kind of a battery-module? Sounds pretty cool!
PornStarsAreButter 17 Apr, 2019 @ 9:28am
I agree I have a mod that increases thruster strength. Also, I modified one of the small hydrogen UCUs to work for batteries as a way to move power between bases, I was wondering what you thought about that?
Hull Breach  [author] 17 Apr, 2019 @ 4:28am
It depends on various things. What ship I use, in what Environment I'm flying (Space/Planet/Moon) and what mods I'm using. I often use mods that either increase thruster power or thruster efficiency.

I will try to provide you with maximum payloads for every ship/container. Maybe I could add some thrusters to the grasshopper, too.

In my opinion, the vanilla thrusters aren't efficient enough to use with large ships. (if they arevsupposed to look good)

Hey Hull Breach! I was wondering if you could provide maximum load weight for each ship depending on planets? I tried to lift a UCU full of ore with a grasshopper and it didn't work. I'm just wondering what your intended use for these UCU's and ships are! thanks!

Ah, ok thanks! I guess I can just repaint them
Hull Breach  [author] 7 Jun, 2018 @ 8:52am
my Fletcher Class Frigate and the Warhorse Corvette are atmospheric.

I don't think that a cargo-ship manufacturer would build military escort ships, too. So there's not much point in building an escort ship that looks similar to the cargo ship.
[℘] Sarven 6 Jun, 2018 @ 4:22pm
Yes! And one that will have atleast limited Atmospheric possibilities :D
Hull Breach  [author] 6 Jun, 2018 @ 4:19pm
You mean like a military escort? A corvette or something?
[℘] Sarven 6 Jun, 2018 @ 4:14pm
Cool Freighters, will there be like a escort ship with the same sort of design and colors that would be atmospheric?
Hull Breach  [author] 4 Jun, 2018 @ 2:33pm
that's why the one battery is off (and has "emergency") in it's name :-)
You can activate it from the door's control panel

Just adding 2 batteries would be good to help prevent overload and act as a backup so you can refill the reactors without having to go all the way to them.
Hull Breach  [author] 4 Jun, 2018 @ 6:32am
There's no place for solar panels on this ship. (Solar panels often make things too easy). I think, the reactors are enough. The ship consumes quite a bit of energy. I will think about hiding two of the three batteries. :-)
jarhead 4 Jun, 2018 @ 4:30am
If you wanted to reduce the number of reactors on any ship then you can use this math for it.
1 small reactor can produce x power over time
1 battery can produce y power all at once (like a capacitor)

So for each small reactor you want to remove from the ship you would need (just a rough guess) 2-3 batteries to allow the same run time but also allow for the random spikes (surges) in power use. If you leave all the boxes in the battery menu empty then you can use them like capacitors instead (or like real life batteries). This would also allow you to remove (hide) them from both menus ("k menu" and "g menu") to make them more organized. By doing this while your docked, coasting in space, or set down on a planet you can shutdown your reactors (or if you have run out of uranium) and use a set of soalr panels (etc.) to recharge you batteries to keep you alive until you are ready to leave (or get where your going).
jarhead 4 Jun, 2018 @ 4:30am
When comparing this ship to your smaller one it would be like comparing a chevy tahoe to a chevy traverse.
Hull Breach  [author] 3 Jun, 2018 @ 7:27pm
sounds good. I think, I will replace some of them.
jarhead 3 Jun, 2018 @ 2:55pm
Looks great.
I would replace all but 2 of the h2/o2 gens with cargo (hold more ice and emergency supplies).
