Um i just found a SynthMiningStronghold spawning the 40k p carriers inside itself and lagging the hell out of my game cause it has like 3 of them inside it

Welp thanks, As for how I design these sores its really got no functional or practical planning, I just tend to see it in my head and go from there, randomly building details and weapons and thrusters just making it fit in and shaping it as I go. I guess its kinda like blindly exploring but instead were building a starship by hand one piece at a time. I mean other than that I just use basic building sense, make details small and not too frequent or scarce, and always use one style curves and geometry arent easily pulled off in the same room together. Then lasty I have my special floof style that is just the way I naturally try to build anyway, which honestly this does not show off in the slightest because I've gotten better since.

Heh, yes there is some serious sim speed issues, but as far as I've tested with my low end pentium there is no lag (ie 200-600 fps) and at worst 150 fps when in deep territory, although yes there is some serious sim speed issues and im quite sorry but thats due to how ZPEG is designed, its kinda stupid. I did try fixing it by adding new scaled blocks to reduce the sheer amount of blocks in each ship but it only helped by a very minor amount.

I mean if anyone else has suggestions id love to hear them, just as a note, turning down the spawn rate is out of the question. The spawning is at its minimum percent already.

Great mod! However, the amount of 42000p capital ships that spawn in your sectors is overwhelming, I know this is supposed to be an extremely powerful faction, but staying in your home sectors runs your game to a halt with how much lag there is with 5 capital ships just sitting around.

Hmmm, interesting opinions, but I agree this is far from being complicated and all of the blocks have their place as CFG evolved technology. As well as the amount of armor being 3 colors which is just sentinel level :/ thats not alot or unnecessary. However yes I am looking into this lag problem (im sitting on my ass messing around and have started on a fix but not finished). And yes ZPEG is slightly overpowered, they are meant to be on par with quincy. I made sure of that.

@DaDrunkCrow I hope you were drunk while writing that comment... Because you clearly did not read the mods descrition at all. They are supposed to be overpowered, and no, if you read the descriptions of the blocks you will realise it's actaully not that complicated (yes it's a little overwhelming at first, but you get used to it). The different types of armor blocks are fine, adds a lot of charactor to the faction (though the sear number of blocks on the ships is apperently causing lag, but the creator is working on some kind of fix).

Too much blocks, too complicated. Also ships are much too powerful to even compare to vanilla or other mod factions. Most of the blocks are either not needed. For example the different types of armor blocks.

Hmmm you can already do that with the base hull really, I wont be adding any new blocks at this point. Or you could put factories on either side of the ship, maybe the center if you do a carrier design like the terror.

perhaps halving the weight and adding counterweight piece(s) could be effective? my main issue was that the weight of the block offsets the center of mass greatly when placed at the very back of ships.

CFG/ZPEG are real hit and run gunslingers i know but still i gotta maintain some sort of balance here so you can at least scratch their paint XD

I actually nerfed it significantly, the factory had 250 density before lol so no worries atm id say its alot better but if need be I can still nerf it some more, although i want ships with capacity to pump out these horrid quincy power ships to be slow and lumbering unlike their fast brothers because honestly itd be massively overpowered to have a giant ZPEG ship burst in make some babies and run off.

the factory block has an inordinately high mass, making any large ship go from reasonable speed to slow and lumbering. along with that, it would offset the center of mass of ships to become very strangely located.

Generally speaking they are heavily balanced with quincy, but hopefully once I get done with my artistry I'll have time to get in and fix some of this stuff ive just about halfway completed a block overhaul for the hull so the ships stop being made of scale 1 blocks and hopefully that can help some of the overall lag, as well as fixing up the gas giant mining station (the big star fortress thing) because i fought it with quincy and it still took me 15 minutes to down it with about 10 30,000P ships lol

from my perspective, the starhold and to a lesser extent the other planetoid stations all have far too much shield health, leaving them almost indestructible. I like to play against factions just as much as I do play as them, and this has become a problem for me, especially considering the other issues with the starhold that have already been mentioned.

that said, I really do enjoy this faction overall. the theme is very reminiscent of the other CFG mods, while still unique in its own right.

I'm currently working out some stuff but ive got mods in the workings and a planned lag update for ZPEG to hopefully rectify most of this bullshit. Really sorry its gone on this long but I've been very busy with work and legal issues irl so I cant always be bothered to be at home. I look forwards to finishing my projects and giving out things that I love so that others can enjoy them as well. Thank you all for being patient and giving my mods support. Really it means alot.

I have left the large majority of the Reassembly community and will not be returning unless the place goes up in flames and needs me back, any mods I'm working on will be uploaded without warning and generally there will be no more progress updates on the discord (that I left so no duh) I will try my best to keep up with people using screenshots of cool stuff or just messages like this in the comments, I'm not leaving the game just getting away for a bit to help myself and others. Sometimes we just need a little alone time.

@LordHobart Actually ive already located the problem its just me lacking time in the day to actually finish the fix and upload, but no worries when I get work sorted out ill get on it pretty fast. And besides that, ill never be able to fully fix the lag due to the way reassembly works with ship spawning and CPU usage. Sorry for all this mess!

So I was playing with these guys a little more, I think I know exactly what's causing much of the lag, and weirdly enough, I don't think it had much to do the the Mining Starholds R Gen rate, rather it has everything to do with those new Tactical "drone" launchers/platforms. I really think the rate at which they spawn, especially the ones that spawn the larger ships, need to be toned down a lot. As soon as those drones all go away, the game runs almost as smooth as butter, it just can't handle the shear number of them that can be deplyed at once.

After playing, gotta say not as insane as i was expecting. Really fun to fight actually, especially with my Order faction. Only complaint i have is they take up like all of the center of the map, but i can see that being a thing for lore reasons. Otherwise its alright.

Ive actually got an idea for it and im going to try it out, it technically fix more than 20% of the lag, well at least on paper anyway. But due to how complex the designs are it may be useless to try it.

They arent slow silly, its just time dilation, they are "fast" except for one of them that is and the stations of course. (its due to the game compensating for lag) and theres not much I can do to stop it, reassembly is just a tard that way.
