So, several users reported the exact same issue many years ago. They were using ACE combat or OPTRE ACE Combat. I know you said you are not playing with any other mods, but could you please double check that no mods are installed? Some people have even had remnants of files from other mods that were causing issues.
Some other questions:
- Are there any error messages when you crash or perhaps when you load into the mission?
- Do you have to the most recent version of optre and cba?
Should be fixed now!
That is a bug that I recently fixed it in my other OPTRE mission. I'll work on patching it for this mission sometime this weekend. Thanks for reporting the issue!
You can signal them the same way you call in CAS or artillery via the support menu. Should be keys 0 - 8. The "Send in the Marines" option should be second in the list of supports.
Interesting, I have no code or modules running that fail the mission for friendly fire. Only if the whole team goes into a down state will the mission fail. I will look into this issue further to determine a possible cause. Are you using any large game altering mods like ACE or just the OPTRE and CBA mods? Thank you for all the info you have provided thus far!
also had the same bug once on your other OPTRE mission, once.
the FF bug happened twice (we got squad wiped once, and once we had 2/4 up) leading me to think that might be a MP bug as in my 3 SP runs across both missions i never got a FF mission fail
Tried to replicate your issue but failed to do so. My drop pod detaches from the ship and falls as normal. The HEV module from the OPTRE mod handles the drop pod insertion so it is somehow breaking on your end. If you can, try to use it in the editor and see if the issue still occurs.
@firestar587
Tried extensively to replicate your issue but failed to do so. I tried several scenarios: downing one teammate, multiple teammates, and the whole team besides myself. I also tried to save/load with multiple teammates down, revive them, then down some them again. None of it worked and the mission never failed. Does your issue occur around a similar point in the mission or does it occur at random?
I will look into your issues this weekend and report back, The OPTRE mod has been updated recently, which could be causing conflicts with the mission files.
Thanks for the update. Glad you got it working.
I tested the mission for your issue and could not seem to replicate it. There are a total of 15 bunkers that line the beach. If all enemies in and around the bunkers are dead, then I suspect a unit may have gotten stuck inside of a rock or another object in the trigger's area. Basically, what I'm saying is that there is an enemy that is still alive in the area because the trigger that progresses the mission waits unit all enemies on the beach are dead. Does this issue occur every time you play the mission?
I checked all of them, all dead.
Glad you like it! Try to check the in and around bunkers on the beach. Sometimes the enemies will still be alive in them.
Unfortunately, medics in Arma will not heal others without being ordered to do so. In terms of the revive system, this mission uses a custom revive script. If you go down, anyone with medical supplies can revive you, not just the medic. Are you using the assigned button to call for help when you are downed? I believe the default key is "H". You can view what the key is it in the briefing journal on the map.
This mission has been updated to function correctly with the latest version of OPTRE!
The OPTRE mod was recently updated as of May 18th. I was unaware that an update had even come out for it. The update broke this mission. I will update this mission as soon as I can to be compatible with the newest version of OPTRE.
No worries! Glad to hear you resolved the issue!
I'm sorry you are experiencing this issue. Does the error message say what vehicle class does not exist? What version of OPTRE are you using? Are you using only the mods required? I attempted to reproduce your issue, but the mission loads successfully and is playable.
Apologies for the late response. I cannot seem to replicate the issue. Is your OPTRE mod up-to-date with version 0.21 (ALPHA)? Have you tried reinstalling the mod?
Thank you for informing me of this issue. I will look into soon!
No idea since it could be many factors. The mission does not prevent players from joining eachother. Some questions to consider: Is your friend able to connect to other missions you host? Does he have the required mods to play this mission? Is he using only the required mods (shouldn't be an issue, but Arma is finicky)? Are you turning on UPnP when you setup the session?
You only need to clear the beach and bunkers of enemies. Perhaps you missed an enemy soldier hiding somewhere. The trigger area that checks for enemy presence is a bit larger than the red area marker where the beach objective marker is located, so try to clear that area as best you can. As for performance, it should improve after the beach battle.
Is there anything specific you must do to trigger the next objective?
