Check the first lines of the desc. The updated version is there. Its mostly functional, just the heatSINKS don't work. The rest is fine
Ribbons0121R121 8 Sep, 2022 @ 5:04pm
is this mod ever gonna update
Kinesi  [author] 4 Aug, 2021 @ 6:00pm
Okay thank you Meridius_IX, i appreciate it
Stargateur 3 Aug, 2021 @ 8:47am
just generate a new one ? the mod is connected to your steam account, I don't see how you could not create a new one or manage old one. I never work on steam workshop but I don't think any documentation of any token mod so I don't even know what you talk about. Are you sure you understand correctly the error ? Contact steam I guess
Meridius_IX / Lucas 23 May, 2021 @ 3:21pm
Take the following and paste into notepad and then save it as modinfo.sbmi

<?xml version="1.0"?>

</MyObjectBuilder_ModInfo>

That should get ya sorted!
Kinesi  [author] 23 May, 2021 @ 1:47pm
Heres the problem. I've lost the token file that allows me to upload to this page. If anybody knows how to fix this I'd appreciate it. For now I've uploaded an updated version on my page under the same name
Castle 22 May, 2021 @ 6:33am
@Kinesi - I would just like to not have my ship blow up at 150 degrees lol - I suggested this to my community and they panicked lol
Kinesi  [author] 21 May, 2021 @ 7:45pm
I can tell you for a fact that I'm not going to be able to find the time do much more than rebalances and block group fixing. So if anybody else wants to take a stab at intergrating the NPC weapon mod logic, go ahead. I'd get permission from the mod author though before trying to post or intergrate with this one.

As for work on said rebalances and such... Im dedicating some time this Sunday/Monday to get some work done.
Castle 20 May, 2021 @ 11:25am
his point is the amount of work that would take to do, if you want this done, do it yourself (its easier to create an npc mod WITH the heat efficiency in mind) then to rewrite a mod to make it add these parts
ExCaedibus 18 May, 2021 @ 3:10am
@Vas The MES NPC Weapon mod proves you can. Also, there is no balancing in danger if you just replace 1 to 3 at max depending on ship size. They are very very rarely undergunned as is.
Vas 17 May, 2021 @ 10:57am
You can't modularly replace things on a ship as easily as just swapping something, nor would it end up being balanced in any way anyway. I think NPC ships are fine the way they are. It would be too much work trying to balance NPC ships with all of this and people would then constantly request NPC ships with different mod weapons or tools. Its up to you, if you wanna create your own NPC ships with the mod you mentioned.
ExCaedibus 17 May, 2021 @ 3:45am
I really would like if NPC spawns would come with their own radiator modules of any kind. I understand the mechanic can not just expanded to npc ships, but it seems just imbalanced and weird if they even come with NO heat treatment equipment whatsoever. Especially when conquering or salvaging them.

Could you perhaps make something for the "Modular Encounter Spawner" mod, to replace a few weapons with radiator equipment like there is for mod weapons? (No worries, they usually have more than enough weapons.)
Vas 16 May, 2021 @ 9:27pm
Hey, give me an add request or poke me in discord, I've doing research on Electrolysis right now but I have a friend who's great with this stuff and she could probably help with sciencing this down further.
Kinesi  [author] 16 May, 2021 @ 8:33pm
Gotcha. Its on my list to fix. Passive should not cost energy. I understand what you're saying here and I believe this mod is due for some TLC. Ill download a fresh copy and get to work when I can. Things have been hectic admittedly. I feel bad for not keeping up on updates.
Vas 16 May, 2021 @ 8:21pm
I have some concerns, one being that the ship melts at 150C, where as steel is fine up to 400C. Most of the components on the ship should be fine up to 200C. In fact, the weakest component on a computer chip, is the solder, which will melt around 180-190C for the typically used alloys, however you can bet if you were designing a space ship, you'd use something able to withstand higher temperatures.

Also, your passive radiators use energy for some reason, this makes no sense. They are passive! Its a chunk of metal you attach to collect extra heat!

More yet, why would an atmo thruster heat things up? Its a big turning fan? Granted KeenSWH designed it to look like a jet engine for some reason instead of a flat rotating blade.

Your cooling blocks are also confusing, their costs and sizes and such make no sense, I don't know which one is more powerful than the other as a result. I'd like to discuss further though, possibly come up with some research and such to help in this.

Queen Bee 11 Jan, 2021 @ 12:08pm
hello, any chances we will get further updates? i really like the idea of this mod
Church.exe 27 Dec, 2020 @ 5:28pm
@Kinesi Ah ok, I was moreso wondering if this was something where the dev had just said "It'll work until it breaks" which can cause world damage when it does, but if its just been hard to update it (and still works according to Effrenatus) thats amazing. (this is one of the few mods I have seen that incorporates realistic heat dissipation so it not being abandoned is awesome)
Kinesi  [author] 27 Dec, 2020 @ 8:29am
True it hasnt been updated. I haven't been able to play SE for quite some time now. I can only play singleplayer and when I do, its just singleplayer. So I haven't been very active. My apologies to anyone where this has been a problem for them.
ExCaedibus 27 Dec, 2020 @ 7:15am
Hmm at least it still works fine, as far as I can see on my server.
Church.exe 27 Dec, 2020 @ 1:00am
is this mod dead? It hasn't been updated in over a year according to steam.
James Fire 23 Nov, 2020 @ 4:27pm
Remove the mod from the world?
Staples 23 Nov, 2020 @ 3:18pm
is there a way to turn this off once its on?
Sarah 22 Nov, 2020 @ 1:40pm
Is there any way to show and hide the hud element?
Darian Stephens 20 Nov, 2020 @ 1:35am
This mod has no such compression heating mechanics (Re-entry, for example).
You'd be better off asking in a mod which actually has them, like Aerodynamics.
Madmaxxxx 19 Nov, 2020 @ 8:45pm
Iam struggling to find and or build ships that can survive re-entry and exit of atmosphere, does anyone have any good mining blueprints that can go to space and come back???? thanks
CptVodka 17 Nov, 2020 @ 7:15am
How do you actually start a game with this?
I started by dropping down to the surface of Mars with just a rover. As i touch down, the temperature of my rover is already at about -10 degrees. At -20 the steering gives up.
I really like the concept but i have no idea how i'm gonna get started :D
RogueCmdr 1 Sep, 2020 @ 10:39am
EPIC, any update on the vents and such
RogueCmdr 1 Sep, 2020 @ 10:39am
BTW i forgot to read this mod more and i put it in and critical meltdown my landed ship during a station fight
RogueCmdr 31 Aug, 2020 @ 1:48pm
Just want to let you know I just added this to my Extreme Survival Collection and will have it on stream tomorrow at 9am PST https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2199444240

I also plan on adding this to my list of mod reviews I making for my Youtube channel.
Haknoes 26 Aug, 2020 @ 9:53am
Just looking for news about the upcoming version: are the item icons going to be adjusted to match the space engineers vanilla icon style? They stand out a bit right now.
Aggressor 12 Jun, 2020 @ 8:39am
Superb mod but I just hate that ugly Text Hud API thing. This only one reason why I unsubscribed ur mod.
ExCaedibus 3 Jun, 2020 @ 4:44am
The description is not completely explaining how to use.
How does the cooling work? I figured I need to build Radiator Panels onto the ship to reduce the ship's core temperature. Do they work in atmosphere? Does it matter how they are oriented to the sun or whether 1 or both sides are exposed to space? What do the Inline Radiators do, they seem to have a warming effect? What are heat exchangers and how are they supposed to be combined with all the blocks?
Sponticore 15 May, 2020 @ 8:55am
I have yet to try this mod but ive been watching it with interest, as an HVAC tech i would absolutely love to see this realized fully in this game.
Greyson XMG  [author] 26 Apr, 2020 @ 11:29pm
That and better.
James Fire 26 Apr, 2020 @ 1:07pm
We're getting actual powered cooling?!
Greyson XMG  [author] 25 Apr, 2020 @ 8:31pm
FYI: I have heads up that THERMAL will be becoming even more awesome!
Keep your eyes open!
Gabus 25 Apr, 2020 @ 4:15pm
XRCInfiniteXero, You might want to stop capitalizing every other word, and instead at the beginning of sentences. It's hard to see where sentences end and begin, and it makes it kind of choppy and difficult to read. However, you have valid concerns and I do really like what you have to say.
F-16D Block-60 FemboiDILF 14 Apr, 2020 @ 9:00pm
would be really cool to have tooltips with some basic maths on them to help with building.
XRCInfiniteXero 26 Mar, 2020 @ 2:12pm
Thermal Mechanics Aims To Add Realistic Concerns, Yet The Thermo-Siphon Mechanics Are Heavily Flawed For Space As Well As The Functionality Rate Of Decay ; Space-Volumetric Thermo-Dynamics Dictate That The Balance Of Thermal Properties Would Need A Variance Of Endo-Exo Thermal Components To Be Minimal For Maximum Efficiency, Whereas, Relative Energy Latency Would Have To Be Far Higher Than That Of Atmospheric Climates, Due To The Relatively Near Zero-Kelvin Status Of It. If You Would Like Do Know About The Ways Of Balancing The Mod To Be More Realistic, While Keeping It As A Balancing Factor, & New-World Friendly ; Feel Free To Message Myself. I Kindly Appreciate The Efforts Of This Mod, By The Way, & Did Not Intend To Offend If Anyone Finds My Criticisms Offensive, By Any Stretch.
1antonioorlo1 17 Mar, 2020 @ 2:40am
Yeah! Cool! THX!
Korfio 10 Mar, 2020 @ 4:25pm
Tried to start on europa. Battery was damaged almost immediately. This start is impossible. Consider adding a small cheap heating element block to save the battery.
Kinesi  [author] 14 Feb, 2020 @ 4:50pm
Oh absolutely. Thermal Mechanics adds a very natural way to balance extremely powerful mods such as Nanites, railguns, energy weapons, etc...
Az14el 13 Feb, 2020 @ 12:53am
Unexpected side effect, grav drives & modded lasers/railguns need quite a lot more cooling than normally less powerful alternatives :D

Managed to set the base on fire and blow myself up several times figuring things out but was pretty intuitive and a nice touch.

Highly recommended even server side, though can't speak for performance just from my single player testing.
Greyson XMG  [author] 4 Feb, 2020 @ 7:21pm
Radiators. inexpensive cooling.
Heat Exchangers. Heat and Cool. More expensive to build.
Cooling tower. Massive cooling for planet use. So as to avoid using hundreds of radiators.
warriorsabe 4 Feb, 2020 @ 7:17pm
What's the difference between the heat exchangers, radiators, and cooling towers? Actually, is there a wiki for this? Since I'd also like to know all the numbers so I can figure out just how many I need.
Kinesi  [author] 20 Jan, 2020 @ 4:57pm
Yes, this is true.
aversion 17 Jan, 2020 @ 11:10pm
So uh, the current temperture of a grid doesn't save between world reloads, I'm guessing?

Just went to save out of the game and load the world again and a grid that was previously hot is now the default temperture.
Greyson XMG  [author] 29 Dec, 2019 @ 10:33am
This is good information.
EpicSlayer7.666 28 Dec, 2019 @ 9:40pm
@seronis, while i had believed what you said to make sense... i just did a bit of google and found not much... (maybe my key words sucks.) most batteries in space have a heater since the minimum temperature is around -5C and the newer ones they are planning to use can work down to -80C...

here is a list of space batteries: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batteries_in_space

tho radiating heat in space is extremely hard. unless in the shadow of a planet or something, you heat up a ton. you got no atmosphere to take the heat away. look at themos bottles, it is 2 aluminium bottle, vacuum separating both and held by a isolating material. so only that isolating material is emiting heat out of your drink (or input if cold). not to mention a planet has a floor on how cold it can get. (or should, i have not played since the cold update.)
