why not base it on state population or manpower? i.e. 1 division for each 1M of max population.

Looks like the ai's are building a lot of divisions at the same time (like 1million), this results in example the soviets having 600 divisions anyway, if someone knows any posible way of capping the amout of divisions at the same time in training please contact.

Hm, thanks for being ready to really do this.
I don't want to annoy anyone but I just realized that while the game goes on Nations can Turn from Minor -> Major as it depends on the Factories or sth ?
As in India. It starts as a Minor nation but turn into a major later into the game.
This is an issue because doing this Hardcap for Major = 200 divisions, Minors = 75 divisions, doesn't make sense. By the time I Minor nation 'would' be able to field more than 75 division it will turn into a major anyway.

I feel like really to solve this you should (only if you want ofc.) hardcode Specific Limits for (the most importand) specific Countries.
Like:
USSR: 270 divs
Ger: 200
USA: 200
Jap: 150
China: 200 (?)
ITA: 150
ENG: 150
India: 100
Rest of the World: 75

Something like this.

How about if minor nation isnt considered major (has less then 50 factories) then it will have a max of 100/50 divisions?

Yea this is exactly my point. Both Majors and Minors will mostly use the same templates.
That's why after the Majors have maxed out with 200 divisions, they will slowly lose relevance as other minors start catching up with them as the game goes on.
That's why I think another cap for minors is needed. This should also further improve perfomance as there will be less divisions in the Lategame, making the game potentially playable until 1945.

the problem is that the ai will probably stick to basic 7/2 infantry units while building like 6 tank divs and no more, they dont really cant optimize their slots like a player would do (replacing inf with tanks)

Majors can pump out more trucks and tanks then minors and will remain mostly superior to the minors

But I am worried about countries like the Raj, Canada, Australia, Brazil etc. eventually catching up with majors which is ahistorical, when you have a 200 divisions Raj fighting a 200 divisons Germany haha

The thing is majors get their 200 Divisions by 1938 and then they have to stop, while minors keep producing. So in that sense with everyday that passes minors are getting stronger and majors weaker.

the difference is that minor industry and manpower is shit so they can't field 200 by 1938, its a good idea actually (but rembember that this mod is actually planed for preventing extreme lag by 1941). I maybe integrate this on a economy mod im working on, the 9 days were mostly because the game is really broken detecting the mod, if the game engine wasn't that shit i could have ended this in 1 hour.

Not that I'm complaining, I'm loving the idea that someone has put so much effort into making this game actually playable.

But wouldnt it be better if you would at least make a difference between minors and majors?
Like minors have max 75 divisions and majors max 200?

But then again, I've modded alot myself and if it would take another 9 days of work for this change, I'd say relax. It's not worth the effort haha

This should work with almost everything. the only reason that this stop working is that some mod replaces this two paths (common/ideas and common/events) in that case ask to the mod developers to stop being lazy and to stop fucking compatibilities

more like create, i make a event of a hidden trigger, the event gives a custom idea wich prevent nations from training and deploying divisions. this link https://pastebin.com/9HkKfrP6 has the events and idea code, do you want to make a mod or its just research and curiosity, if you are making a mod what do you plan to do? something big?

try also deleting their divisions to a number like 180 (less than 190) and wait for them to reach 200 or more and check if they have the national spirit, also what are your active mods?

it works with all the nations, the problem is that they might be training too much divisions and they deploy all at once, when division limit is reached they cant deploy untrained divisions but if they are at 180 and they are training 50 and they deploy all at once they end with 230 thats something i can't fix unless i somehow force them to delete the divisions

So, I found an issue with the mod. Germany is still building divisions past 200, so perhaps it doesn't work with some of the AI? It still works with the soviets I think, but maybe they just decided to stop. Also, the training percentage decrease also effects experience gained while exercising. It does seem that you still gain experience while in combat, but i'm not entirely sure.

Thanks for you'r feedback, the problem with the old mod was that his main features we re not designed or planned for this type of mod. Good luck i found a division trigger in the wiki.

Thank you so much for this! As much as I liked your previous mod it very often didn't work for some reason. I'm testing this now but so far it seems to work great.
