You just reminded me - I must get round to completing the F.A.T.S.L.A.G.S some time. So many ideas to get distracted by! Also got a D.O.M.I.N.A.T.R.I.X space station if you can believe I made an accronym of that! I'll finish it one day!
I look forward to seeing your version!
The only yellow & black one I can think of with II in the name would be the "Nimbus II Courier"... This one...

with MK II in the name
Yes, by all means please do publish your version when it's ready and send me a link to it. Apart from anything I'm curious to see which ship you've modified!
You're also free to rename your version whatever you like. All I ask is that if it's obvious that it's based on one of my designs, you post a quick credit & link to the original in your workshop description.
And thanks for running it by me first. I appreciate that!
Send me a link if you publish it & I'll check it out.
Yeah, balancing things is the hardest part of any build. Trying to make it look ok and have enough power / thrust / whatever to do what it's supposed to do is always a challenge.
I have dozens of blueprints for hulls that look amazing but are completely useless because there's just not enough places on them to put thrusters without ruining the style.
Started experimenting with "multi-grids" more recently - so I can use small-grid blocks in smaller large-grid ships to save room. Certain small-grid blocks just aren't powerful enough for large-grid ships but it can be handy for things like air vents & conveyors, timers, etc since you can fit 3x3x3 (or sometimes even 5x5x5) small blocks into a 1x1 large block space.
You'll get there though. I've been building in SE for nearly 6 years now & have over 2,500 hours logged. When I first started out, my builds were horrible things... everyones were!
It's like anything in life - the only way to get really good at something is to do it a lot.
For me, I picked it up quickly because I design & build things for a living in the real world. Everyone's different though & we all learn at different speeds. There's no hurry to become an amazing builder - it's all just about enjoying yourself!
A good tip to start out with... get to know the Cut, Copy & Paste functions (CTRL+X, CTRL+C and CTRL+V) and the Symmetry function, then use them to cut pieces you like from ships and paste them onto other bits from other ships. It'll give you a feel for what blocks look good next to one another.
Writing the descriptions for these things is almost as much fun as building them!
I haven't gotten around to S.L.A.G.S yet but I will. Then you shall have S.L.U.T.T.Y.F.A.T.S.L.A.G.S to play with!
I hope you're able to run the game soon.
Glad to provide a laugh. It's always gratifying to know that my S.L.U.T.S are going to people who appreciate them!
I have half a notepad of naughty accronyms to get through, so expect plenty more where this came from!
Now go give those S.L.U.T.S a damn good pasting!
The humor in this... NOICE!! I subbed solely based on that XD. I'm very much looking forward to perusing your expanding collection of fine "products," in the meantime, I'll go and enjoy my brand spanking new S.L.U.T.S and S.L.U.T.T.Y T.A.R.T!
but holds up in the air only for 15 mins at max speed without reactors help :(
@Charlie... NO <clutches pearls> You mustn't call them sticks and stones anymore! It's "dimensionally challenged branches" and "Resolute calcified semi-mobile mineral depositories"
LYNCH HIM!
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not!
Not sure myself why anyone would be offended by the name S.L.U.T.S but trust me, someone probably will be. My disclaimer is less of a disclaimer than it is a middle finger to anyone who feels like taking issue with my sense of humour.
