Lol made something like this when the bomb joint things first came out, it was a heli with a small hawkeye tank that would auto attack as soon as its dropped, gotta say though this looks pretty dang scary XD

I figured out that the thrusters underneath on the Artillery give enough of a counter force for me to still pitch the Chinook.

alright, well I wish you luck and I hope the repost gets front page!

Ok. I'm adding it rn, it turns much better. Problem is I lost too much lift from removing fans so I'm having to figure out how to compensate for that.

They're not going to remove the hoverbug until they make it an actual feature (as said on a dev stream). Use it on all things that need it for now, and when it gets removed it will be replaced with a block that changes control mode

My two Star Destroyers both use it, for example.

I do use the hover bug quite often, actually. I just don't like to rely on it since I figured there's a chance that they will remove it at some point. It also makes flight controls behave weird since it thinks it's still on the ground.

just trust me... put one of these one your tech and it will become maybe 250% more useful. I looked at the design and it's practically made to be a hoverbug flier, with all of those rotors on the sides and all.

and since you didn't use the hoverbug on there I'm going to assume you don't know what it is. It is very simple: place a small GSO hover plate facing a GSO hub wheel with the wheel part facing the hoverplate. Imagine the wheel being the ground- that's how you want to angle your hoverplate, and that's how the game will act (it will think the wheel is the ground, and will keep your tech with ground controls)

PAJ... use the hoverbug. It will make the dropship actually able to move.

Yeah, I honestly just built this cuz it looks cool. I have some other artillery type units that are more practical. This is bare minimum a long range artillery.
Mindlessmrawesome 2 Aug, 2018 @ 3:28pm
Another problem with it: the artillery unit. Now, I like the design, it is very cool-looking. However, it turns on-the-spot (without pressing W or S) very poorly, which is an important feature on artillery builds. All of your aiming is coming from A and D, and if you can't keep up with a moving tech going about 10mph that is almost out of your view range you're gonna have an issue. The best way to fix this is to use tracks or only have 4 wheels touch the ground.

Also, it can't pitch backwards and forwards. You need to add a hoverbug onto this thing or else it's going to be useless as all he11.

ok, so you added a neat carrying tech on top to get it over mountains and such, but one key element you managed to forget is the ability to actually turn. I just took a test flight, and this thing CANNOT TURN! Like at all! It has about a 2-minute turning time for just a 90-degree turn, and it requires the thing to be moving forwards. It looks cool and all, but is completely impractical.
