Understood. I'll talk to the guys at their server and see if they're interested in releasing the version on Southbird's server.
IUSTINUS  [author] 29 Dec, 2022 @ 4:33pm
Inventory and jump are already increased in V2 (to 15 slots and 80%). That may not seem like much but with the additon of quickbar which frees up inventory space, enhanced storage which essentially makes backpacks, and rpd stats and armor bonuses these drawbacks fade away by mid-game.

Now if someone wants to make their own watered down version of TW (as a few have) I give anyone permission to do so, but the official version will remain as is for now
tigerfestival1988 29 Dec, 2022 @ 9:38am
Ah ok. Thanks for filling me in on that. I have another question, I showed this V2 on the Captain Southbird server and they seemed excited to see that TW received a major update, but they hate the shrunk inventory and reduced player jump. Can you make some patch that removes them?
IUSTINUS  [author] 29 Dec, 2022 @ 3:53am
tigerfestival1988 Altar is from a few starbound versions ago and the mission/boss just doesn't work in modern starbound. reaper and ruin are technically working, but aren't accessible in-game due to being outdated and underwhelming, at least until I feel a need to update them.
tigerfestival1988 28 Dec, 2022 @ 10:04pm
DAMN! I didn't expect that. People always said the GiC devs were dicks, but I didn't think they would ever say something like that, holy crap! Yeah it's best to keep away from GiC and it's devs.
IUSTINUS  [author] 28 Dec, 2022 @ 9:58pm
@tigerfestival1988 Funny you mentioned GiC, I reached out to them asking if they were cool with me patching stuff from their mod in case I decided to include it (I didn't tell them I was the creator of TW), and they were straight up jerks for no reason lol. After I simply asked, one of them on discord said they would chop my balls off.
tigerfestival1988 28 Dec, 2022 @ 8:17pm
Ah understood, and thanks for not including Galaxy in Conflict, that mod is just plain BAD and would've ruined Troubled Waters for me.
IUSTINUS  [author] 28 Dec, 2022 @ 7:35pm
@tigerfestival1988 They were considered, but ultimately didn't line up with the spirit of TW. Hope you enjoy your play-through though! TW is still balanced for 2-4 players, but V.2 makes the beginning less grindy even for solo!
tigerfestival1988 28 Dec, 2022 @ 6:13pm
Happy to see this mod got a major update. Surprised that Starforge, Feast of Fire and Smoke and it's addons and Betabound aren't on the mod list. Nonetheless I'll give this update a swing, it's been a while since I last touched this.
Armok 12 Dec, 2022 @ 2:11am
Ah, gotcha
IUSTINUS  [author] 12 Dec, 2022 @ 1:31am
@Armok Yes I am aware of the patch for M32 and FU, but I am actually making a fully custom patch for the entirety of TW. Troubled Waters will have a 100% custom and streamlined experience with all these major mods. It will just take me some time to complete this as it's pretty ambitious.
Armok 12 Dec, 2022 @ 1:00am
Considering that this pack includes Maple 32 and Frackin Universe alongside the K'Rakoth mod, I'm kinda surprised that this collection doesn't include the official maple 32 and Frackin Universe patches from the K'Rakoth mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2832790747&searchtext=K%27rakoth

sorry, it seems it was a glitch where timber wouldnt show up in the crafting menu
IUSTINUS  [author] 5 Jun, 2022 @ 5:50pm
@mahoney If youre asking how to get timber, you use your matter manipulator to mine trees. Then in your C crafting menu to can make timber there.

You can also post in the Official Troubled Waters Discord [discord.gg] for more help.
mahoney76 4 Jun, 2022 @ 12:28pm
how do i timber
IUSTINUS  [author] 24 Nov, 2020 @ 1:05am
This modpack has been recently tested and I am currently doing a playthrough with some newbies to see how it plays. Might make a discord for easier communicating as well.
Megu 22 Jun, 2020 @ 3:40pm
Is it possible to have music at night? I love frackin music :rbrb3:
Soz 15 Mar, 2020 @ 9:24am
It just came to my mind - will the music be included where you could find empty protectorate ships in space? They sounded pretty good
Soz 15 Mar, 2020 @ 9:04am
Thanks man, much appreciated
GuyBronson 28 Feb, 2020 @ 5:21pm
The BS in question is, fortunately, not something that's on you to fix. Sayter is notorious for constantly pushing tiny updates that break packs and servers as well as add new, non-optional mechanics that literally nobody likes or asks for (reloading...). This is all before we get into his terrible attitude and nasty habit of poaching code from other modders' githubs, rendering the work of people who call him out on this incompatible with FU, and generally using his mod's size to bully the entire modding community into submission. He's like Big Ape, except real and I can't explode his head with a glowy sword.
IUSTINUS  [author] 23 Feb, 2020 @ 1:53pm
FU is one of the main mods TW is intertwined with, so it is required yes. What BS are you talking about though, if its a bug or something I could probably patch it

And thank you Soz, i will look into that and let you know the actual songs. PS, most of them are in the jukeboc you make in the matter assembler i believe.
GuyBronson 22 Feb, 2020 @ 5:37pm
Is it possible to play this without Frackin, or is it designed around it? I'd rather not deal with Sayter's BS if I can help it.
Soz 14 Feb, 2020 @ 11:40pm
Is there a list of all the music that comes with the modpack? Some tracks perfectly fit into the environment and I'd love re-listening to them without having to play the game. Thanks much in advance!
IUSTINUS  [author] 31 Dec, 2019 @ 4:07pm
Just a PSA, I have fixed the swimming issue and most all the crashes that have been happening. I am currently doing a playthrough to further polish things as well.
IUSTINUS  [author] 26 Dec, 2019 @ 12:56am
Yes It did, I changed the collection to fix this. Unfortunately, you will need to make a new character because the new FU changes broke previous characters that used the old version of REALISM mod
Revilo Black 19 Dec, 2019 @ 9:19pm
I believe the most recent update to Frackin Universe has broken swimming in this collection, it was working fine last weekend but now I cant seem to move in water. The recent patch notes for Frackin universe mention a swimming update so im guessing it conflicts with something else in this collection, possibly something to do with changes to jump height and speed?
warmainiac 4 Dec, 2019 @ 6:01pm
@techworks well the item id for the first peacekeeper quest giving item is "outpostpeacekeeperposter" and i think judging from your first steps (via youtube) you may have used admin commands before in the past in your current playthrough, but other than that i am not sure how well it would be able to go considering that its part of the main story in some way and at the end of it you would aquire a cool mech arm
El Percivàl 26 Nov, 2019 @ 9:53pm
@warmainiac I'm not sure Skys Outpost is updated to 1.4 at the moment. Which is a shame, since I'd love to give that a spin on my playthrough.
warmainiac 26 Nov, 2019 @ 5:05pm
@TheJournier there are actually 2 mods that match what you are describing, though the one that i know for sure does the sorting is enhanced storage which also adds in 3 stations involving storage, and with all 3 you can make a single room filled to the brim with very small 300 slot storage lockers (or presents)
warmainiac 26 Nov, 2019 @ 4:57pm
hey, i am not sure if its the changed outpost or what but it does not seem clear (or if its unable to spawn) where the peacekeeper poster is at the outpost. i checked the section where it usually spawns and then the area next to that, but not below (despite having the ninja sphere tech from RPG Grownth) i did however go around it with admin commands to get the poster item and get the quest from there, so where does the peace keeper poster spawn if it does?
TheJournier 1 Nov, 2019 @ 8:35pm
@Limping Zombie it is the realismbound. Unfortunately you'll also get stuck with the physics of vanilla as well. I.e. High jumps, vanilla darkness glow. etc. It doesn't just effect inventory.

There is a mod you can add however that allows you to carry storage containers with their inventory intact that you could add to it. "also adds inventory sorting for containers as well", I forget the name. I tried it with this modpack it works no problem.
RustedRegime 1 Nov, 2019 @ 5:55am
What is the mod that adds the 10 slot inventory?. i'd like to know which mod adds it since i find it quite annoying to have to go back and forth while looting somthing.
TheJournier 1 Nov, 2019 @ 1:02am
How do you deal with the things that out range you. Like the start shooting so far away. Like beyond what I can pan even.
Dee Hemlock 25 Oct, 2019 @ 1:42pm
im having and issue, my outpost dosnt seem to have anything in the tech room except the scientist :rickweeks:
IUSTINUS  [author] 21 Oct, 2019 @ 3:31pm
@Gigadotti the psycho Limited inventory space is one of the selling points of this pack. This pack is about making Starbound more difficult/realistic for people who don't like vanillas cartoonish gameplay.
GigaDotti 20 Oct, 2019 @ 9:28pm
Is there some way to get more space in the inventory? like a backpack or a upgrade or something? or is the inventory set to only have 10 slots per tab through the whole game?
warmainiac 9 Oct, 2019 @ 5:28pm
hey techworks, i have seen your previous playthrough of starbound and recongise that you like mods such as cutebound. so on a quick note. you may recive a smallish compatibility issue when it comes to extended story, though i haven't tested it to be sure, but one of the boss minions bears a high resemblence to the vanilla nox and may look diffrent than the nox your most likely familiar with, and also FU now is including its own character extender so any other one is not required with FU is in use
El Percivàl 8 Oct, 2019 @ 9:26pm
@Nitsej Ahh thanks for the response! Glad you're considering a vanilla music version, I'll be sure to stay tuned. ♥
IUSTINUS  [author] 8 Oct, 2019 @ 8:08pm
@warmainiac Yeah, thats probably best. FU might even make your race supported in the future so who know. You did remember to play on survival difficulty right? Good luck!

@teckworks Currently no, the new soundtracks are particularly selected in order to make SB feel darker and a little grittier, but still appropriate (like underground for example). However, you are one of many who have requested the Vanilla music return and I am working on a vanilla music version, so stay tuned. Until then, I hope you and your friend enjoy the modpack. As stated above while this can be played solo, it really shines and is optimized for hardcore coop play.
El Percivàl 8 Oct, 2019 @ 10:55am
Hey there! Friend and I are planning on doing an LP with this modpack (+a few extra mods) and I wanted to ask something.

Is there a mod or setting we can change or remove that allows for just the vanilla Starbound music to play in-game? Not for nothing, the replacement music is nice, but we're just so used to the original soundtrack and we'd rather have that while we play.
warmainiac 7 Oct, 2019 @ 5:02pm
well before the log that i sent you was recorded, i was having some problems with other races to (did so to help confirm it was not just that race) because i thought that i had accidentally installed a death drop disable mod which it almost seemed the case as the arachne race, one supported by FR had the issue. so some other mod that i dont know of modifies those files yet i cannot tell what. so i have dedcided to stick to the race mods that are FR supported to help go around this.
IUSTINUS  [author] 7 Oct, 2019 @ 4:49pm
It's because there are multiple mods in this pack that change the player.stats file. So unless the race your are playing is vanilla, FU, or TW (because they have been optimized for this modpack), then there is a chance they will have issues, which I think is your case.
warmainiac 7 Oct, 2019 @ 3:17pm
actually this is the first time i have played that race with this modpack but not the first time with Frackin Universe or Frackin Races
IUSTINUS  [author] 7 Oct, 2019 @ 3:00pm
@warmainiac According to your log it seems the problem is related to your species (Alicorn?). The mod is trying to apply some sort of racial effect that the rest of the game can't apply (probably due to incompatability with FU or something) which is probably why you are having your issue. I've played this modpack like 3 or 4 times with a group of people and have never had this issue with the vanilla and FU included races.
warmainiac 7 Oct, 2019 @ 2:28pm
Also i decided to change up my modlist and for some reason i am having that same "character spawns starving" effect and the only thing that i could think of is that whatever race i am using isn't correctly patched (mostly cause it does not have any buffs from FR) but here is the log and see if its a patching problem or something cause i honestly have no clue what could be causing it https://pastebin.com/EWchzkTi
IUSTINUS  [author] 7 Oct, 2019 @ 1:41pm
@warmainiac Yes FU has it built in now thanks for reminding me. I will remove the one from this collection
warmainiac 7 Oct, 2019 @ 12:56pm
frackin universe now has its own character creation extender it seems, tested when i did not have any character extender mods installed
IUSTINUS  [author] 13 Sep, 2019 @ 2:55pm
@morgredblack Ok. It's do-able but tedious because music is set to play on a per biome basis. But, you're not the first to request this so it might be worth me doing.
morgredblack 12 Sep, 2019 @ 7:26am
@Nitsej no, just want the vanilla+frackin music back as the base music.
IUSTINUS  [author] 11 Sep, 2019 @ 10:58pm
@morgredblack I'm not 100% what you're requesting. Are you saying you want Vanilla + FU + TW music to play at random?
