@IP0T You NEED to connect it as I showed or the entire thing wont work. Yes 4 blocks is 1 meter but the distance sensor automatically measures in meters anyway so you can't measure blocks that way.

no, maybe i accidentally changed a setting in one of the logic gates, i just connected the distance sensor to the display directly because i was more familiar with block units
4 blocks is 1 meter right?

@IP0T sounds like it might be wired up incorrectly? Make sure the distance sensor reading is connected to the radar unit under the green DIS paint block (example in the third image).

@IP0T It shows the range in meters, one block is 0.25 meters.

what does the left display says? and what u mean with "If your vessel is not angle stabilised you should stabilise the 'radar dish' element so it remains level to the horizon."

sadly the biggest problem reside with the detection method. I tried multiple system for the Poseidon and had mixed result.
