there's 4 possible alt abilities + the primary combo; that mod, to my knowledge, only has the potential of 3 alt attacks (rmb, shift+lmb and shift+rmb) and 1 primary. i assume that mod requires a tag for the item to be compatible, so it likely wouldn't work unless i edit it, and since there are more alt abilities than possible slots i don't see a good reason to omit one of the abilities to combine them

would it work with the weapon retrofitting station to combine all the attacks int one weapon?

not planning on removing it from the mod, but you can spawn one without the drain using /spawnitem soluskatana 1 '{"primaryAbility":{"energyUsage":0}}'

i'll consider making a version of this mod with cycling alt abilities rather than randomly distributed per-weapon, but just a disclaimer, i'm currently reasonably content with this mod and am not planning to return to modding any time soon.

this mod is good and bad, good because it gives the player new attacks to Solus Katana, but bad because you have to use 4 Solus Katanas for each attack, it would be better to make those attacks randomize each time you press RMB on a single Solus Katana.

how to use abilites?

the modded katana replaces the original one. in hindsight that's an oversight, buuut i didn't know all the best practices 3 months into modding when i made this

does it replace the normal solus katana or is it a seperate item, so i could have both?

that's expected; i didn't create 4 separate versions of solus katana with different abilities, rather it behaves more like a standard RNG sword you'd find on a planet. it pulls the ability from a pool of possible ones on craft (or spawn), so yeah since you're recreating the weapon it shuffles them around

I discovered by curiosity that using the Universal Uncrafter (from the mod of the same name lol) you can randomize the abilities of the sword

Hi! Could you please add a `solus.itemdescription` file at `/interface/itemdescriptions`? Without that file, the game boots players back to the title screen when attempting to craft the Solus Katana, such as with Betabound.

there's one per sword, and it's randomly chosen out of the pool of 4 abilities. kinda lame but hey this mod is like 3 years old and i've practically stopped modding lol (if i suddenly come back i might just create a version with 4 abilities and different ways to activate all 4 from one sword though)

frackin was a good concept, but once they take over a mod it is exclusively theirs, this has taken several mods away from those with less robust computers. :( However, deliberately making something not work with it isn't going to hurt anyone but your own mod.

Unfortunately it is incompatible with any custom weapon that uses the Solus Katana as a base (Such as Solaria) due to the mod replacing the vanilla weapon.

well first of all its incredibly annoying to code, and second, how would it switch? the crossbow only has one attack, while a sword has a combo and an alt. i mean i can try doing shift+rmb attacks but after all this mod is really old and i havent modded in like a year.
