1.6?

I could see it being an issue if they had a healthy body part replaced with a bionic, but replacing one that was lost should probably be taken less harshly.
Then again, Rimworld is a universe where they do have the technology to regenerate any missing body parts, with the only cost being how hard it is to obtain them out on the Rimworlds.

@Nic: Thank you so much!! (And yeah, that was absurd!)
Nic 31 Jan @ 5:01pm
I am forever grateful for this mod
Nic 31 Jan @ 5:00pm
yeah, installing 3 bionics to make them actually useful only to find out that it was a -20 mood debuff was my last straw with them, that is absurd
Vakaria  [author] 14 Nov, 2024 @ 6:32pm
@vincent_calgari: Good question :steamhappy:
vincent_calgari 8 Nov, 2024 @ 9:41am
honestly thank you to me the idea of missing a limb is FAR MORE UNATURAL than getting a robotic one why the fuck would anyone want to basicly remain a cripple
Vakaria  [author] 4 Jul, 2024 @ 6:33am
@grubber21: I don't play with the Biotech DLC at all. Hadn't considered that to be honest. But, it is an XML change, and feel free to modify it as you'd like. Thanks for the comment and thought!
grubber21 30 Jun, 2024 @ 9:49pm
Might I suggest adding that people who are BORN WITH A XENOTYPE don't have the thought FOR BEING THAT XENOTYPE?
Vakaria  [author] 9 Apr, 2024 @ 7:18pm
Updated to 1.5 with minimal testing. Please let me know if anyone runs into any issues. Thanks!!
Cactus 10 Jan, 2023 @ 4:31pm
Does this apply to the Flesh Purist meme too? Maybe adding in a precept for "disability only" so it allows pawns to replace their parts if they lose them without penalty, but get upset when unnecessarily replaced?

@Avatarx: You are very welcome. Thanks for enjoying the mod :)

Avatarx 3 Nov, 2022 @ 7:16am
Will there be a 1.4 update?

@Reianor: I really appreciate the thought you put into your comments. I would love to learn to code more, but RL doesn't give me a lot of free time. I appreciate your interest and sharing your ideas!
Reianor 29 Jul, 2021 @ 12:54pm
For all I know there might be an easier and cleaner solution based on specialized function(s) within either official or modded libraries.
Maybe try asking people who do know shirt? Pretty sure there's a boatload and a half of them floating somewhere around various RW-modding-related discord channels.
Reianor 29 Jul, 2021 @ 12:54pm
“I never asked for this!”
“Shut up Jensen, the colony hive mind said he wants you walking not hobbling so I'm here to operate and I'm not paid to listen to you whining!”

Part of me is annoyed that what StarRunner was talking about isn't already the way core RW works.

Maybe through permanent fake disease effects?
Is it possible to add a disease based on how the body part was lost?
Is it possible to make those diseases affect mood? (probably yes)
If both are yes than the rest is obvious.
Add a permanent "disease" either to a natural loss or to an operation loss like "unnaturally lost limb: left leg" or "phantom pain: right eye" to designate how the limb was lost and work from there.
Or at least that's the first direction I'd look into if I actually knew shirt about RW modding.

@StarCitizen: It's a unique idea, but I'm not sure how I would code that. Thanks for your feedback and interest!
Daystar 15 Aug, 2020 @ 5:38pm
This would be great if the lesser penalty was given to the colonist if the part you had to replace needed to be replaced because it was missing, destroyed or had a severe ailment vs just replacing parts that didn't need to be replaced, I have no experience with modding Rimworld so not sure if that is possible.
Vakaria  [author] 5 Jul, 2020 @ 1:48pm
@DisKorruptd: Hmm. Probably not. I cant imagine anyone who'd be ok with having a block of wood for a leg, body purist or not. But, this is an XML change, so you can probably just write a simple mod for this yourself.
DisKorruptd 4 Jul, 2020 @ 4:16pm
Do you think you can make a minor version that just makes the body purists not upset at having a peg-leg as opposed to a full prosthetic?
FoxoManiak 28 May, 2020 @ 8:35am
Aww thank you!
Vakaria  [author] 27 May, 2020 @ 6:56pm
@FoxoManiak: Glad you like the mod. And your pic is so cute!!
FoxoManiak 26 May, 2020 @ 6:13pm
My colony got many replacement body parts after a few battles so this mod should be great as my best (and kinda only) cook is a body purist and i just seen that he hates almost everyone, especially my best soldier
Vakaria  [author] 11 Apr, 2020 @ 2:54pm
@Shigemi Notoge: No worries!
@Avder: I love the ideas. I don't have much time for modding other than to be sure the ones I have work, but if I ever redid these, I'd look into specifying penalties further. No promises, but good ideas. Thanks for your interest!
Avder 11 Apr, 2020 @ 4:55am
Would it be possible to change the penalty depending on how naturally the new part replaces the old one? For example, a -3 debuff for a bionic since it looks and feels like a normal one, with a -5 for a normal prosthetic because its just a reminder of how unnatural it is, and -10 for something like a field hand because it makes them feel so sullied?

Would also be interesting if something happens to them so that they could really use a part (shattered spine, eye shot out, ear shot off, gut worms in the stomach) and it makes it so the mood penalty for that part is even less or in extreme cases nullified? For example "0 - Bionic Spine I can walk! I...I think I can live with this" or "-1 - Bionic Eye I can see again! I just wish it didn't have to come with such a cost, but I think I'll bear the discomfort". It would also be neat, in these cases, if it further lowered the body purist disgust against people who have those same parts.
Shigemi Notoge 10 Apr, 2020 @ 10:12am
Derp, nvm, I just reread the description. Ignore me.
Shigemi Notoge 10 Apr, 2020 @ 10:11am
Does this mod also effect the way the body purist feels about other colonists? Our village leader just lost her arm and we have a bionic replacement but her husband is a body purist. I don't really want to risk rocking that boat but at the same time, she needs an arm.
Vakaria  [author] 3 Apr, 2020 @ 6:31pm
@ Olfan. I know what you mean. I am a Christian, and I have never understood those types of whack jobs. Most sane people don't, regardless of their faith. Glad you like the mod :)
Olfan 3 Apr, 2020 @ 7:39am
It just struck me that there are people out there who'd rather let their only child die than allowing them to get a blood transfusion. If prayer doesn't heal them, nothing else may even be tried lest their favourite deity be belittled by the actions of its own creation. To a colony of those, even transplanting a natural human leg instead of a readily available advanced bionic one would be an abomination and they'd banish the patient as soon as they could walk again.

Thank you so much for creating a mod that has those people gain at least some insight, albeit only on a far-out Rimworld.

"This mod simply lowers the penalty in each stage for the pawns who apparently prefer blindness and/or lameness to being fully functional. I didn't remove the penalties entirely, as I feel the values should still reflect their dismay at being non-fully-organic, but it reduces them to a more acceptable amount for me. This will impact the "Needs" penalty values (for how the pawns see themselves), as well as the "Social" penalty values (for how they see others)."

Heh. Fixing eyesight won't affect how they see themselves as much. Hehe.

Nah, that 100% looks like facial stuff.

@Ny_Hate_You: I'm not 100% sure, but I want to say it's "Expanded Prosthetics and Organ Engineering". New version will be out soon per the Mod author. Here is the link: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=725956940

THANKS!, btw what mod makes the face prosthetics changes?
