I literally spent ages making this ship - mainly beacause I kept making massive design changes before I settled on something I was finally satisfied with!
Sounds like you're doing the right thing. Half of design itself, is research
I can't imagine the time it took to put this together and how many transformations that entailed, but it's a fine piece of work and would be a huge achievement to get this built in a vanilla server.

Big ships for SP games tend to deplete fast not only fuel but also the player's stamina, when going from one point to another, or get boring pressing the forward key for longer time.This is the nature of the game, as it is now, though. Critical and frequent used parts/decks should be placed somewhere more cetnralized to avoid long distance player moving. They need to be designed carefully....
