Now that we have children in the game, they also show up as slaves. I purchased one thinking I could turn the kid into a colonist but the game decided differently. Anyway, could you perchance create some clothing for this poor kid. He keeps taking off the clothes I make him put on and he's freezing. Thanks for the mod.

You can try it out on the 1.5 test branch if you want. Unless they broke every mod that adds clothing, this one should work fine in 1.5. I'll add 1.5 to the supported versions once it actually releases.

Well.. finally got around to polishing the mod.. Fixed up the art, no more random white outside the black outline of the clothing sprites, finally fixed the off center sprites that have been annoying me forever. The stats and costs should make more sense now.. aaaand the spacer stuff has been moved to the fabrication bench.

Oh, also the resolution of the arts been doubled, so it shouldn't look like crap next to newer stuff.. hopefully..

I found a bug, Spacer Slave Uniform count as medieval clothing not Spacer.

No, you can't. You have to manually create a correctly sized (fitted to each body type, in this case for children) graphic for north, south and side facing, and one for the item sitting on the ground. So 4 images per piece of clothing.

It's not like other games where it just overlays a texture onto a model of a shirt or whatever, it directly places an image onto a graphical layer; so clothing will cover the body/head layer of the pawn, the outer clothing layer will cover the middle layer, etc. So if you reuse the artwork you would just be pasting the adult clothing over a child. Dunno if I'm explaining this well enough.. it would literally be the exact same graphic that you see on the adult pawns, but placed on top of the children.

I mean kinda.. that'd be a lot of work. I'm not an artist. It's also tied to biotech. Personally I don't view it as worth the time/effort. Maybe if I had as much free time as I did a few years ago, alas.

@Phrozehn I had a separate version in the past, but in the last update I heavily nerfed bonus stats on everything, actually removing workspeed from around half of the apparel. The only thing with a strong bonus is the spacer outfit, which is intended.. it being space tech and all. I probably made them a bit too cheap, now that I've played the game since I updated the mod, but that'll likely just be changed later, whenever I need to update for 1.5.

I believe I kept some of the workspeed bonuses to counteract the inherent 85% workspeed of slaves. Honestly slaves are kinda just flavor, there's better options for most things.

TL;DR: I already nerfed stats so I could have only 1 version of the mod, cause I don't want to update two versions. If you absolutely MUST have no stats, then either make a copy of this mod and do it yourself, or use RIMMSqol to remove the bonuses.

Is it at all possible to get a mod option or seperate version that has no stat buffs? Basically just want outfits that aren't actual buffs. Don't want to make slavery more powerful, basically. I just want the clothing options (spacer and rags especially).

@golem_warrior It's the victorian housemaid uniform. The graphic changes when you put it on a pawn with a male or hulk body type.

Well as far as I can tell, you have to manually flag clothes as being wearable for children.. so I dunno why that's even possible for you. I don't know if you have a mod that's causing it or what. I don't have Biotech, nor will I anytime soon, so I can't test.

Is there a problem with the mod or is it just telling you the version is wrong? This mod is so simple no update should break it.

I was working on a polish update a few months ago, but I ended up setting it aside cause I had more important stuff to worry about.

Guess I'll just touch it up a bit & upload the unfinished update.

I wish slaves have their own slave gear tag so random pawns don't spawn with them. Or until I edited my colonists would not wear bondage gear.

It would be really cool if you could make it so regular colonists would get a mood debuff from wearing these outfits, so only slaves can wear them. I personally upped the social penalty for these, to compensate. I lowered the work speed and move speed bonuses as well.

The straps appear to be a bondage harness. Says bodyPartGroups Torso. Layers, Shell. The collar is bodyPartsGroups Neck, and layers Overhead. I'm not a modder, but do you think it's okay to copy these sections for you so you have reference? Unless you've got most of what you need now.
They can wear clothes with them, but the straps seem to be a coat. It can put on the collar with a hat. I didn't do much testing, just spawned them in dev mode for my new colony.

I think? I found what you were asking for. There was also a tag thing that said <slaveApparel>true</slaveApparel>

Collar offset 0.15, body strap offset 0.15. Those are the only things so far I think that have it.
There is SuppressionPower on a hat that's set to 0.1. They added some things to some of the Royalty items too, which is a negative offset. Guess they'll revolt faster when royalty is around.

Possible, yes. However, I don't have Ideology so I have no way of balancing it. I don't even have access to the definitions for the collar & straps. If you want to find them in the files and tell me what SlaveSuppressionOffset is set to I could probably work something out. I believe they should be in the ThingDefs_Misc folder.
