It would be ideal if such a patch I describe in my previous post would also work with Expanded Materials - Metals to make the ultimate resources overhaul.
Discohydra 2 May, 2022 @ 2:46pm
On top of what Eqz said, I'd like to add that if some CHAMPION of a person could make an additional patch to this that would integrate it closely with Rimefeller, it would be a HUGE, HUGE boost to the gameplay if you could make the materials compatible, and use this mod's methods of producing it more of a mid-early step before you get Rimefeller operations up and running, while also patching Rimefeller to be able to refine chemfuel into the plastics provided by this mod.

I made an unnofficial update of this mod, until Atlas either updates his mod or tells me to take it down: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2780438599

Please update this and fix the minor issues Eqz brought up..

I tried making Greenhouse with your glass it acted like a regular wall and it said they all had Darkness just to check if it was working

Interesting materials mod, but there are some things.
Several people mentioned ruins made entirely of mudbrick, which is annoying and not so realistic, because stone ruins would last a while, while made of mudbrick wouldn't. This is actually base game issue, what I know now is changing mudbrick price from 0.05 per unit to 0.90 per unit like stone block has fixes the ruins.
Mod is mostly CE compatible, which is big YAY. But some stats for single plank of laminated wood picked as weapon are missing, that causes error messages. Quite easy to patch, fixed locally.
Very odd thing is materials have beauty multipliers, but not have beauty offsets. Especially glass, which has unique mechanics for walls, yet walls have 0 beauty and multipliers do not change that 0. This is quite unlike both vanilla and other modded materials, which most often if not always have both beauty multiplier and offset if they are "beautiful".

Would be cool if you can disable in the Mod Manager the Materials you dont want, because you already have them :)

can we please be able to dig mud from shallow water tiles? it'd be nice to build adobe houses in the desert if i only have a river and no mud tiles

how did you make glass transparent?

If you are like me and have had an aneurysm because you can't haul the minified building of the chemical refinery then:

1.) Open your rimworld mods folder, I personally manually download them with the workshop downloader ( just search it in your search engine) but for most of you it will be
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rimworld\Mods\1541903513
I believe that is how mods from workshop are stored, if not then sorry I do not know.

2.) Navigate to here
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rimworld\Mods\1541903513\Defs\ThingDefs_Buildings

3.) Open the file "Buildings_Masonry.xml" in a text editor

4.) Go to line 225 and change
<thingCategories Inherit="false" />
to
<thingCategories Inherit="true" />

5.) Save the file and blam no more pawns not hauling the building and making you have an aneurysm. You will still get an error saying that it isn't haulable in dev mode but you can store it

It would be amazing if you could use this with rim feller to make crude oil
ANGERY 15 Mar, 2021 @ 5:33am
So what is the point of crystal glass? The walls have 0 base beauty and 0*300% is still 0... Building windows to decorate the base makes the base objectively worse than building everything from marble since you lose some beauty.
Acuru 27 Feb, 2021 @ 7:17am
@JesusChrist Protip: I am using muffaloo poop as building material.

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only mud brick
Król Artem 4 Jan, 2021 @ 1:46am
is it compatible with fertile field and glass+light? since both mods and clay, brick, glass making etc...

How do you get bio fuel?

Why use shale oil added by the mod instead of just regular chemfuel already in the game?

How do I find algae?

It would be very nice if this mod were compatible with dubs skylights or if only it were possible to build transparent roofs with the glass material of this mod
Marva 8 Apr, 2020 @ 1:04am
Anyone know if this works in 1.0?
Shigemi Notoge 30 Mar, 2020 @ 11:55am
Anyone else having the problem where all world structures and quest blueprints are 100% mud bricks? Or do I have some kind of mod conflict going on?
Dakon 28 Mar, 2020 @ 9:36am
Is there some compatibility with "Fertile Fields [1.1]" and "[1.1] Ceramics"? Both mods add sand, clay and dirt.
What about using the mod with "Coal Expanded"?
Noxious 26 Mar, 2020 @ 7:28am
I would recommend making it easier to get the materials because right now, it takes just too much time.
Vamp 18 Mar, 2020 @ 9:55pm
This is a fantastic mod, thank you
Vamp 15 Mar, 2020 @ 9:56am
How balanced does this feel?
Vamp 15 Mar, 2020 @ 6:38am
Thanks for 1.1, I will try this!
rbgsticktalk 6 Mar, 2020 @ 12:45am
Is there a way to remove oil & coal and keep the rest?
jannqu 1 Mar, 2020 @ 6:33am
Feel that brick is less efficient and less likely to be an option than stone
Gobsnek 27 Feb, 2020 @ 6:55pm
Would it be possible with a modular mod just for the glass? I would really love that as I have other mods covering plastics, etc :)
Mitz 25 Feb, 2020 @ 3:23pm
gosh darnit, was just 'bout to use it as a base for a terraforming mod...
God, looking through his code, he really made things hard work... 2 steps for fabrics? constantly reprocessing oil over and over again? argh!
RyanRigormortis 25 Feb, 2020 @ 2:34pm
Is there a 1.0 version out there somewhere? Awesome mod BTW!
Atlas  [author] 25 Feb, 2020 @ 6:19am
I removed shale in 1.1 as I felt it was somewhat redundant. If it was a liked feature though, I'll be more than happy to add it back
Alexandre 25 Feb, 2020 @ 3:23am
for some reason all the shale on the map disapears
Atlas  [author] 24 Feb, 2020 @ 8:14pm
Working on 1.1 update right now, should be updated soon
Alexandre 19 Feb, 2020 @ 8:51am
will this be updated to 1.1 any time soon?
Marva 12 Dec, 2019 @ 4:40am
27 work at mud digging spot = 5 mud clumps. 20 mud clumps = 5 bricks. 5 bricks make 1 wall. The description says adobe is a cheap building material. Am I missing something?
Shadow Wolf 29 Nov, 2019 @ 4:25pm
Would be cool to have a integration with Rimefeller or at least as a quick fix disable all plastic materials when rimfeller is on
robopitek 16 Nov, 2019 @ 4:02pm
Hey your mod is one from supported mod in my mod - Massivity

BTW It is possible to make from glass something other than glass walls, because it has a 300% beauty factor, but it cannot be turned into a sculpture. (or i not noticed something)
Discohydra 24 Sep, 2019 @ 6:38am
Dear god, there are two (three?) things stopping me from using this mod.

With Fertile Fields, I need to worry about my sand being in a cup or not.
With RF's Concrete, I need to worry if my concrete comes in a better looking bag (Atlas' bags are better, in my opinion.)
and finally, but not needed, how about some integration with plastics when it comes to Rimefeller?
教科书的风格 23 Aug, 2019 @ 6:59am
@Atlas,and there are two "make reinforced glass",but one cost 10 sand and it's products are 5 reinforced glass but the other cost 90 sand and it's products are 50 reinforced glasse. I think that the second "make reinforced glass" maybe it should be changed to "make bulk reinforced glass".
教科书的风格 23 Aug, 2019 @ 6:54am
@Atlas,the recipes of "Make Reinforced Glass" and "Make Reinforced Glass Bulk" are ok but why their products are crystal glass?
Pamparampampamparam 21 Aug, 2019 @ 12:18pm
Also, I don't think the regular shale spawns. Prepare Landing isn't picking up any areas with shale stone.
