I keep getting error messages while trying to copy ucg file solution.

Hello Skitter, For some reason the mods are sometimes hard to find. Run a search for Gilgamesh in your C drive. If you find it, copy it into you mods folder. Sometimes the download needs to be activated.
If that does not work here is an alternative I am copying from someone else that I have found helpful (next post due to 1000 character limit):

Not sure what's wrong for me but it literally just doesn't work for me. I click subscribe, see it in my Mods folder, see it in the in game mods menu, enable it with the checkmark, and from there it simply doesn't work. I can't determine the issue at all. Am I missing something?

This is one of my favorite Civs. It is fun to play. I think the advantages of being able to build any other Civs special units is well balanced with the experience penalty. The cash from faith & faith structures is balanced by not being able to use faith to generate great people in the late game. Despite the advantages I do not feel this Civ is Over powered. It is also a fun Civ to play against. :steamhappy:

The code for this Civ uses an SQL trigger to detect new Units being added to the database, then makes a copy of them with the only differences being a different internal name and making it a UU of Sumer rather than the original mod civ.

It's far from impossible that there are some Civs' unit code that isn't playing well with this SQL.

has anyone else noticed that sometimes you cant build units from other mod civs i was wondering if anyone knows why i know nothing about modding and i dont understand why most of the times you can build mod civ units but sometimes you cant

So, I am playing this in conjunction with the Diarmuid, Arturia, and Iskandar mods, as well as some others. There seems to be a problem with how this mod is interacting with Iskandar. Namely, that whenever Iskandar's Phillippi attacks, the game crashes at the end of that turn. Is that a common occurrence?

Here is an idea; since faith is already converted to gold, why not also have tourism be converted to0? Tourism could be seen as "patronage" from other civilizations paying respect or something. I was also thinking that what if the nuke and atomic bomb was replaced with Enkidu and Ea?

Gil's unique dialog is indeed quite broken and fixing it is probably outside the scope of what an end user could be expected to do. Unfortunately, I don't plan on updating any of my V mods any longer.

When I'm playing as Arturia and meet Gilgamesh for the first time, the unique dialogue for Iskandar is shown instead of hers. Is there anyway to fix this?

I really enjoy playing this mod, but I feel this civ is a bit weak for being Gil's civ. His faith to gold mechanic doesn't help economy out a lot since there's not a lot of ways for this civ to get faith generating buildings and ziggurats aren't so useful as the game progresses. Could it maybe gain some bonuses as you progress through the eras maybe?

I think you should edit the YnAEMP's requested resources of Gilgamesh, he should have wine and iron maybe. Meh, just the wine is ok.

Was a little miffed about how units take so long to level up, but all my worries went away when I declared war and found out what you decided to use as the wartime BGM :)
Now if only there was someway to loop the BGM so I have it playing constantly during wartime.......

Use MPMPM instead of JdH's manager, the latter is very outdated and doesn't support SQL like the former does.

I haven't gotten a CTD yet on my epic game in the renaissance era, but I can't go any further since I'm getting runtime errors whenever I try to load the save. Gonna start a new game and see if I can load that

I had planned on using some at-the-time newly discovered Lua tricks to give Gilgamesh certain unique introduction dialog, but decided that I wanted to go ahead and publish the previous update before fooling around with it. It appears that my SQL is catching those lines to use as regular lines, though. Will fix when I get around to the next update.

i f****** love gilgamesh xD i had a go at modding myself last night ,wanted to add in a hero gilgamesh unit with the Civilization Allstars mod ,but couldn't get it to work properly :p the icons where all messed up ,so i gues i screwed up with the atlas files or something...still ,love this civ ,let the steamroll of UU begin !!

Not sure why, but I'm getting a CTD on turn 176 when it goes through Spain's turn. I'm using this mod with the Community Balance Patch.

Through the magic of SQL, yes, other mod Civs' UUs should be copied, even if they load after this one and even if I'm not the author. However, it is basically impossible to guarantee that each Civ's UUs will be copied 100% properly, since it can depend on how the mod author defined their unit. There are actually a few UUs in my own mods that may cause issues.

However, Great Person UUs are never copied, so Rider's Somatophylax, Saber's Knight of the Round Table, Valentine's Steel Ball Runner, etc., are not copied. Rider's Gordius Wheel is copied.

I've a question that never even occurred to me; since Gilgamesh can use other civs UU's does that include UU's from your other mods? Like the Rider and Saber civs. I'm fairly sure the answer is yes but I'm not 100% sure.

I think Gilgamesh may need resistance to religion for one reason - the "Just War" tenet. I believe it makes enemies stronger when they are attacking you near your city.
Besides that, I like this mod. Looks quite epic.

what about multiple UUs taking up the same non-Unique Unit? (Like the knight, which has half a billion UUs replacing it.)

Yes, that's only available in CBP. I still don't see the need for it, though. Gilgamesh is a non-competitor in the religious race, so he doesn't have to worry about other players converting his cities to religious other than his own. If the concern is that it'll help the other player obtain a Cultural Victory over him, the solution to that is to march over to that other player's capital and GOB them in the face with all of your unique units.

I'm pretty sure the Community Patch does it instead of vanilla Civ5 but the religion bought buildings (Cathedral, Monastery, ect.) add a resistance to conversion to the buildings. If it's possible maybe add that to the Ziggurat? I really can't think of ways to resist religion besides that, the only other thing that comes to mind is some kind of religious pressure of your own to counter it.

I feel like I'm pestering you about all this, I'm sorry if it seems that way.

You can't defend against other religions as Gil. Not that you've got much reason to when you can't found your own, really.

Pathfinder was excluded due to it causing both Archer and Gilgamesh to spawn with one, which I didn't want happening. I've had bad experiences with replacing starting units using Lua (game crashes), so I opted to just keep it simple by removing them from the list outright.

I noticed when playing that the Pathfinder unit isn't showing up. All the others seem to be available though.
