Thanks! Lenny
Was a joy making this :)
It seems a small thing , but after you try this mod you won't understand how you ever lived without it , and you will be loathe to ever go back to vanilla , or play the game without it.
yeah Im afraid i can't speak for Mac.
Happy gaming and thanks for your word s:)
Now I'm not saying you should delete your game ofc. Just explaining a few things since lots of people arent aware of these leftover files or how mod combinations can cause strange issues.
But yes. TLDR: Try to load this alone after resetting your game with no mods on = Turn all off. Load game, exit, load mine. See what happens. :)
I recommend you try to turn everything else you have on off, load uip your game. Exit your game. Then load this mod, load up game, test game, see what happens.
I hope this fixes it. I've been very thorough in making sure my mods work so it's always a surprise to hear when issues like these are reported :) But mostly it's due to old scripts, mods not uninstalled properly, hidden files buried in the data folders that are causing issues without even appearing like it's active. In which case reinstalls and full deletes of shogun 2 folders manually, not via steam, is recommended.
Just disable all mods, except this one. launch game. Then exit game.
Then that mod is Nr 1. Then launch the others. :)
Alternatively, follow my tutorial at the bottom of this mods description and you can find the horo files and remove them all.
Tutorial goes over it.
The specific file-name is found in
Variant models, then select the general unit called Taisho.soldier. ( General bodyguard)
And then youll see a few categories appear, one of them being called " Back" and inside this you can right click and delete the horos you dont want.
I dont remember if the bubbles got specific names atm but you can always just experiment and remove or add whatever you want :)
Anyway, tutorial goes over everything. It's quite easy.
happy modding, KR.

I just went with my gut and created some unique stuff.
Feel free to create your own work
Also there is a mod that changes armor of Gozen's heroines unit. You should take a look which ones is better looking.
If you want to remove this then please try to go to "back" category and then right click - Delete on the entry you want gone.
This registers immediate change.
Then click away to another unit ID and once it goes red, save. Done.
That should work 100 %.
6) Right click on “Helmets”-> Add Mesh and Text References -> The word "NEW_ENTRY" appears on the "Mesh" and "Texture" columns
7)Left click on “samurai_inf_tetsubo_hero.soldier.unit_variant” -> “Helmets”
8)Double left click on “VariantModels/UnitParts/Japan/helmets/kamakura_3/mesh”
9)Left Click on “samurai_inf_nodachi_samurai.soldier.unit” -> “Helmets” -> Doble Left Click on “New Entry “ on Mesh coloumn –> Right click -> Paste “VariantModels/UnitParts/Japan/helmets/kamakura_3/mesh” on the column “mesh”
10) Left click on “samurai_inf_tetsubo_hero.soldier.unit_variant” (the word become red)
11) -> “Helmets” -> Double left click on “VariantModels/UnitParts/Japan/helmets/kamakura_3/tex/texture”-> Copy
12) Left click on ““samurai_inf_nodachi_samurai.soldier.unit” ->Helmets -> On the columns appear again “NEW_ENTRY” :(
I go in order to try to show what I’m doing..
1)Open a copy of your mod with another name : TheShogunsFinestSamuraimod_Nickra
2)Open varianmodels and then units
3)Right click -> Add from pack -> I add the “samurai_inf_nodachi_samurai.soldier.unit” from another pack because I don’t find this name in your mod and I don’t find it in data of Shogun 2-> (green write ->save)
4)Left click on “samurai_inf_nodachi_samurai.soldier.unit”
The reason for this is that it causes the mod tool to immediately register a change has occured. And then when you click off to Billy's line it goes red. Boom, save. 100 % Safe
If I merely change Date_masamunes name to Billy_samurai and I dont add anything else the mod tool wont register these typings to have occured.
I know, its annoying. But luckily the workaround is pretty fast.
variantmodels\unitparts\japan\arms\date_masamune_arm\mesh
VariantModels/UnitParts/japan/arms/date_masamune_arm/tex/texture
The moment you open a say... hand category. And remove or add something, then click away, all the way in the left side, unto another unit ID.
No-dachi (you're editing this)
Below is for instance Billy the Ashigaru. Click on billy, then youll see No dachi turn "red" and that means a change has occured. Then you can save. :( Its a packfile issue.
Also, I highly recommend that you save often and dont edit more than 5-6 units at a time because the packfile manager can get very unstable and suddenly crash when switching to ID's. Its a memory leak problem that never got fixed.
But yeah. Workarounds once one is aware of it :)
If you wish to remove it yourself its fairly easy. I included a tutorial at the very bottom of this description where I tell you about what and where to download a tool, open it, where to navigate to specifically remove any pieces of equipment you dislike.
The Horo in this case is no different. The tutorial gives you a pretty good idea and takes you directly to the area :) Simply delete and save thing.
Thank you for your kind words. Enjoy the mod :)
Happy you're enjoying it !
