one of my favorites to play on!!! I've spent countless hours building old school Americana cities on this map.

@BobGrey I think the map is based off the Russellville/Dardanelle area. The flat topped mountain on the map is Mount Nebo, the creator just added more land where the lake should be. The big flat piece in on the map where the lake should be does follow the southern coast of the lake though. I'm from Fort Smith and the river doesn't curve around the land like it does in Fort Smith

This is a beautiful map. Currently doing a small town build on it. Can't wait to get the world-class national park built around the big mountain.
Overlord 21 Oct, 2020 @ 1:06pm
Doest this map have airplane paths? Because I know there is no sihping route.
dogvader9000 21 Oct, 2020 @ 12:05pm
nice map! though i wish that there were more highways, and a river.

@Scotland Tom - I just barely watched this episode. Congrats!

Might I make a suggestion to add to also change the CliffSandNormal to SCT-NATURERESERVE as well in Theme Mixer for the many do not realize they need to for the cliffs to appear correctly?
I didn't realize that for a long time and couldn't figure out why people's cliffs didn't appear the way they did in pictures. Finally started working on a theme of my own and realized It is what gives the cliffs their "3D" appearance (like cracks and crevices as an example).

I did a quick visual if I am not making myself clear :) https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2003885114

@Moros - Thanks for pointing that out, I had indeed missed it!
Moros 31 Aug, 2019 @ 3:56am
The dependency might be Industries, it was mentioned in the discussion about that that it may be the issue, and I'm not sure if you saw it so I'm sharing it here just in case.
Overlord 19 Aug, 2019 @ 9:51am
Shame it does not have only one custom theme which would put together all these different themes. It is well known that theme mixer causes fps drop and also you are subbing 5 or 6 themes and you are using only 1/10 of the theme. Because it is awesome map.
BobGrey 27 Jul, 2019 @ 1:09pm
I take it that this map is based on the Fort Smith area? Here is an image of the area with terrain data, which is very similar to the images of this map mod (just rotated; the southern range in reality is the northern range in this map):
https://i.imgur.com/nAA0yDr.png

Also, is this map no longer working? I've seen some comments about a dependancy being removed.
I am from the Conway area (just a few miles off the east side of my image) and am very familiar with the area, so I'd love to be able to use this map!
Scotland Tom  [author] 23 May, 2019 @ 11:03am
@Shreddy - Sorry for the problems then. I've suspected for a while that when I updated the map to remove the dependency something got borked, but I for the life of me haven't been able to figure out what it is. When (if) I create more maps in the future I'll be more careful about backing up my files and updating things properly and hopefully avoid causing similar issues in the future.
Shredder 23 May, 2019 @ 7:12am
'Simulation failed 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object'. So there is a dependency there somewhere. I have the 4 tree assets but something is messed up.
Shredder 23 May, 2019 @ 7:05am
It won't start for me unfortunately. Not sure why but I get a failed to launch message.
Scotland Tom  [author] 23 May, 2019 @ 6:48am
@Shreddy - There shouldn't be any DLC required. Originally the Mass Transit DLC was used, but I edited the map and removed the requirement. The only content that is required are the trees by Mr. Maison that are indeed listed in the sidebar and the description.
Shredder 23 May, 2019 @ 3:50am
You really should list what dlc is required.
HypoSim 30 Apr, 2019 @ 10:23am
And there I found that single/double imperfection that even BonBon missed, just seconds after posting my previous comment -- two lap posts that clip into the ramp where the highway splits ;)
HypoSim 30 Apr, 2019 @ 10:10am
This possibly is the most beautiful map on the workshop.

Every time I start a new build, I spend an hour or two fixing the roads, land features, etc. Other than the two dragon baby teeth (which you may not even find unless you've watched BonBonB's review), there's not a single thing that you'd need to fix or improve before starting your build. The terrain is gorgeous, the roads and bridges are perfectly laid down, the rivers flow beautifully (and because they start on the map edges, there are no awkward water sources starting in the mountains).

The amount of thinking and work that went into this map is truly admirable!
Scotland Tom  [author] 11 Mar, 2019 @ 11:46am
@cakethulu - Glad you like it! No premade intersections. One of my favorite parts of mapmaking is building highways and interchanges.
cakethulu 10 Mar, 2019 @ 10:09pm
I'm loving this map! It's so much fun to build on and your settings for ReLight and Ultimate Eyecandy work perfectly (though I'm using the Temperate Coast X theme and ReLight Film LUT for that sun drenched look.) Thanks for making this! Did you use any premade intersections for the highways? They look so smooth and perfect!
alexUnder 2 Feb, 2019 @ 3:11pm
Can you make a vanilla version, please.
MossyMug 26 Jan, 2019 @ 5:30pm
I'm trying to start a new game in this map, but I'm having the same issue as @papa pastoor . I don't know if it has to do with the map, though.

Here's what I get
jerryjackosn 21 Jan, 2019 @ 12:15pm
Living near the Ozarks this map feels so much like home.
Scotland Tom  [author] 18 Jan, 2019 @ 8:45am
@Alex Ross - Assuming the map loads under those conditions there simply won't be any trees. The landscape would be empty.

@papa pastoor - That sucks, dude. No idea what's going on there. Maybe a mod or something? Wish I had an answer for you.
El Tjepco 18 Jan, 2019 @ 8:36am
so i downloaded it and started the map. First thing i had was a 300k debt and there was no water, trees and roads. Not so epic :(
alexUnder 18 Jan, 2019 @ 4:20am
What will happens if I subscribe and use no textures/models - only vanilla? Will it work and automatically replace mod-trees to vanilla? Thanks in advance for answer. I just afraid to try it by myself
Scotland Tom  [author] 13 Jan, 2019 @ 6:38am
@Joey Ferguson Jr. - Not sure why you wouldn’t be getting any rail traffic at all. I’ve tested the rail connections and even in a brand new game the odd train crosses the map once and a while. Whatever the issue is, it’s not the map. Most likely either your city isn’t designed in a way that promotes rail traffic well, or you’ve got a mod that’s interfering in some way. I don’t know if that helps, but I hope you get it figured out. Good luck!
Joey Ferg Jr. 13 Jan, 2019 @ 1:16am
Hi Tom,

Fascinating map you got here. Only thing i'm curious about is the lack of trains on the railway. Can that be fixed somehow or does it just not work? Thanks.
Scotland Tom  [author] 4 Jan, 2019 @ 10:34am
@BonBonB - Happy to add the link! Your content has been an excellent way for me to keep up better with what's going on in the mapmaking community. You deserve all the subs you can get!
And I have indeed been watching your best of 2018 series. Was hoping for somewhere in the top 6, but top 12 isn't too shabby!

@Lolfrog0510 - Yeah, just didn't think shipping routes fit the theme of an inland river map. I've got some ideas for other maps int he future that would include shipping routes though!
BonBonB 1 Jan, 2019 @ 4:59am
Just noticed you've linked me in, thanks Tom. You might want to check out this Friday's best maps of 2018 video.
MrReliable 30 Dec, 2018 @ 4:27am
It's really a shame that there is no ship connection imo. But amazing map nonetheless
Scotland Tom  [author] 24 Dec, 2018 @ 6:10am
@N!gward - I have no control over the LOD settings for trees and objects in the game, but there are mods out there that do address your issue. Check for prop and tree LOD fix mods in the workshop and you should find something to help.
[ISRAEL] Spongebob Crackpants 21 Dec, 2018 @ 10:35am
I've downloaded all the trees and my settings are all on high, but the trees are low res unless I zoom in on them..help?
hipination 17 Dec, 2018 @ 1:20pm
@Scotland Tom
No, I don't have the DLC, but I got it to work anyways...
The game managed to load the map in the map editor, so I made a local copy and edited a bit. With "my" version I had no problems at all. The map loads properly and all highways etc. are there, so I don't think its a DLC problem.
I hope my solution can help other players as well, but still thank you for your help, I really apreciate it :)
Happy Holydays!
Scotland Tom  [author] 17 Dec, 2018 @ 1:00pm
@enzo.says - Thanks a lot! Comments like yours motivate me to keep working on more, so I really appreciate it!

@hipination - Sorry you're having difficulties. I won't have the time to get back into game and check things until January I expect. Until then, the only thing I can suggest on your end is that you unsub from the map, check your mods folder (Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/255710) and make sure the map is deleted from there (content id 1552828907). Then resubscribe to the map and try again. Also, I'm curious if you have the Mass Transit DLC? When I originally released the map I had MT highways in there, but I removed them later and updated the map. I wonder if I may have missed something.
[2RCP] Enzo 17 Dec, 2018 @ 10:55am
HI, just wanted to say thank you for all your amazing works during all these years. your maps definitely provide a lot. hat down Sir.
hipination 8 Dec, 2018 @ 12:47pm
Hi Tom,
I cant get your map to run properly... Even completely vanilla + the required trees i get nullrefs... The map still loads, but several tiles are completely flat and I cant place a single road in the starting area...
I hope you, or somebody, else can help me beacause the screenshots look so amazing ...

@MrMaison - Glad you like it! Thanks for your amazing trees! The map wouldn’t look nearly as good without them.
MrMaison 4 Dec, 2018 @ 6:34pm
Awesome map!! Thanks!! I'm gonna build something nice here :)
Scotland Tom  [author] 11 Nov, 2018 @ 1:44pm
@NoirMoutton and Hendrick - Thanks! I don't release these things for recognition or accolades, but I have to admit I'm quite anxious to see if I make the audience top 10 on BonBon's channel this month.
Hendrik aka Lucky Pants 11 Nov, 2018 @ 12:44pm
I gave you 5 stars in the BonBonB review. You have a very great review"

A beautiful 5 star map!
Scotland Tom  [author] 5 Nov, 2018 @ 11:31am
@Mo' Money - I'm currently using Relight Neutral for this one. It comes with the Relight mod by Ronyx69. You can check all the visual settings I'm using for that mod and others in the description.

@sbman4 - Yep, that error definitely indicates you've got something missing. If you've got the trees I honestly don't know what else it could be. All the rail tracks and roads are vanilla assets. There's nothing else on the map that should be throwing that error. All I can suggest is unsubscribing from the map and all the assets, making sure they're cleared out of your mods folder (Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/255710), then resubscribing. The content id to find Flatrock Valley in that folder is 1552828907.
Mo' Money 5 Nov, 2018 @ 11:10am
Hi Scotland Tom, super to see you back in creation.. Loving the map, a question, which LUT do you recommend with this map...?
LevelZero 5 Nov, 2018 @ 11:02am
Ive subsribed to all the trees, when i load this is the error i get

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object [System.NullReferenceException]

Details:
No details"
Scotland Tom  [author] 5 Nov, 2018 @ 10:36am
@sbman4 - There are 4 trees by MrMaison that are required. You can find links in the description and on the sidebar. If you have those assets I'm not sure what the problem could be. At this point there shouldn't be anything other than those 4 assets that you need to load the map properly.

@BonBonB - Thanks for featuring another one of my maps! Loved the video!
