If you know C++ (and you should), then c# is about 4 hours to learn the changes in syntax and limitations.

no worries. think I'm going to need the luck!

Hey, sorry for not getting back sooner. Glad I put the files in there -- everything's gone from my computer now, sadly. Good luck!
Chipstix213 30 Jun, 2020 @ 6:20am
just noticed it was in the mod folder :)
Chipstix213 29 Jun, 2020 @ 5:17am
Unfortunately Gophers (or only1aster as his comments below) port to space engineers is now gone but I would like to recreate it. does your offer of blender files for your animals still stand?
kn-heal 3 Jun, 2020 @ 3:45pm
i would like to see this mod for 0.7
Chipstix213 7 May, 2020 @ 7:46am
oh well, thanks for the relpy
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 7 May, 2020 @ 6:41am
No, sadly, that's all gone.
Chipstix213 6 May, 2020 @ 11:09am
I don't suppose you still have the tool for creating the behavior files? SE still used this logic but lacks any tools to modify it.
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 18 May, 2019 @ 4:24pm
In theory maybe — the sizes would probably be transferable. But I’ve forgotten about 80% of what I learned in making the cow & sheep. And I can’t load ME up well on my computer anymore since 0.7. So I’m sadly out of the animal-making business for now :(
yellow51 18 May, 2019 @ 7:27am
@STORI3D PAST Productions: Would you be able to make a horse mwm model with the textures and have it use the Deer animations?
yellow51 12 May, 2019 @ 9:04pm
I think this will work very nicely in the Space Animals mod.

Not at all, go for it! If you get them working I’d appreciate a nod in the description, that’s all

Do you mind if I port your Cow and Sheep to SE?

This was an awsome mod, will it be upgraded to .07?
ironsword40 12 Mar, 2019 @ 11:45pm
storied are these mods not returning it say "permanently broken" So am I to assumed the cows and sheep are not returning?
ironsword40 15 Feb, 2019 @ 12:08am
Are you going to update this mod for the 0.7 update?
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 10 Feb, 2019 @ 6:15am
It frolicked :) Maybe a bit unrealistic. But when I saw that it did that, I loved it too much to delete it out of the code.
Melfior 9 Feb, 2019 @ 5:38pm
WTF happened on 9th second?
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 23 Jan, 2019 @ 7:03pm
Hah! Wait, it won’t let you drink it? It should... I’ll check on that. I *do* have plans to add uses for milk, significant uses, but I’m holding off until the game’s next big update. Sounds like it’s going to be a big deal, so I want to see how it shakes out.
pdhurley1978 23 Jan, 2019 @ 4:38pm
OK so I have my stockpile of raw milk. Now what do I do with it, for some reason it won't let me consume the milk.. and there is no butter churn anywhere. just askin. lol
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 20 Jan, 2019 @ 4:18pm
All actual animated animals in the game unfortunately despawn after a while, it’s one of the frustrations of the game’s AI right now. It’s hard-coded into the game and not changesble, sadly! The chicken coops don’t have this issue because they’re not actually “animals”. We’re looking at some way to interact with cows & sheep better. Like leading them with food, etc. Don’t know if we’ll succeed but we’re looking at it!
Sullivas 20 Jan, 2019 @ 4:02pm
I have a problem with my cows and sheep despawning. Could you make them more like the chicken coop (blocks) to prevent this?

Perhaps make a lasso that does damage to the cows/sheep ONLY and then you can pickup their body as an item. From their an animated block (like AI defenders) could work.
Sullivas 20 Jan, 2019 @ 2:59pm
If you can't add ropes, can you make them easier to push?
Frederick III 25 Dec, 2018 @ 4:26pm
thats a shame. ok thanks for teling me!
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 25 Dec, 2018 @ 2:40pm
No. Animals and blocks are apparently so different that you can’t tell a rope to attach the two. I’m not a scripter so I don’t know the details. But two of the brightest modder-scripters I know habe both said that there’s no way to do it right now. Would be great if that changes!
Frederick III 25 Dec, 2018 @ 2:34pm
couldent you just have the scriptthat alows ropes to attach to pullys?
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 25 Dec, 2018 @ 1:47pm
Not yet. Much smarter folks than I have tried to figure how to hook animated animals/bots up to wagons or other blocks and say it can’t be done with the current code. Hopefully in the future!
Wise Donkey 25 Dec, 2018 @ 1:33pm
if you make horses, could you make it so that we could use them on wagons and such?
Rohaa 18 Dec, 2018 @ 1:49am
Stordi3D, glad you're working on this, you've very creative ideas and I do not mind at all being patient to see what you come up with. It'd be perfectly acceptable to have placeable cows and horses and such, as static items (like we have with the people in tavern mod), just to make our towns look a little more alive <3
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 28 Nov, 2018 @ 3:12pm
Hey Ed. I’d of course love to be able to raise and breed animals but the AI code doesn’t support it yet. Hopefully soon! And lots of breeds of cows have horns on both genders!
EdUb3 28 Nov, 2018 @ 2:39pm
Love this idea, can't wait to see where it goes! If I may propose a suggestion, perhaps add male/female (bulls/cows), with reproduction when the two are penned close enough together. This would allow for farming them for hide/meat.

As a side note, why do the cows have horns? What kind of milk are we drinking?
(Im not sure that's milk, seems thick) lmao
Anyways keep up the great work, you are one of my favorite modders for this game. :steamhappy:
xTheCanadian 25 Nov, 2018 @ 1:48pm
Thanks buddy! I'll be using these as soon as I get home!
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 25 Nov, 2018 @ 8:15am
Hi X, yes both mods are compatible with each other. You can use one, the other, or both. Deer will still spawn. If you have both cows & sheep added, you get on average about 1/3 cows, 1/3 sheep, and 1/3 deer. Enjoy!
xTheCanadian 25 Nov, 2018 @ 8:02am
Can we use both animal mods together? Do deer still spawn as well? This and the sheep mod would be great in my game :D
acr11thcav 25 Nov, 2018 @ 1:02am
Hi, so I deleted and then reinstalled the mod and I am now getting milk that I can put into my inventory from the F que. Sownloaded the sheep mod and that works great but wthe squelch before it bas. Still have not seen deer or barbarians. Since the cows have horns can we also get horns to make the mugs for mead? Hard to do this when I see no deer. Another ideas is keeping the sheep and cows around settlements and then the deer can populate elsewhere. Thanks again for the help and the fantastic mods.
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 23 Nov, 2018 @ 12:04pm
Human-style animations are soooo much harder, because we're a lot more aware of janky movements in people. My next big hope is to find a way to use the barbarian attacking AI to create a working wolf, or wild boar. But that's a longshot.
Proscrito 23 Nov, 2018 @ 11:39am
Since you're on the AI kick, why not make some neat enemy AI using barbarians?
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 22 Nov, 2018 @ 2:45pm
Hi flo_zahn. No the game doesn’t support the same AI so there is no simple way to make ME wolves (or any predators) act like SE wolves.
Rolf 22 Nov, 2018 @ 2:42pm
can you take the wolfs from space engineeres and put them to medieval engineeres?
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 22 Nov, 2018 @ 6:48am
acr -- if you want to try deleting the mod from your hard drive, so Steam will re-download it, you find the mod wherever your "steamapps" file is located (mine is at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps), then you go to the folder steamapps\workshop\content\333950\1566218318 and delete the 1566218318 folder.
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 22 Nov, 2018 @ 4:23am
Hi acr. Thanks for the details. You’re having troubles that I can’t reproduce & I can’t find anyone else with the same issues —I know that’s frustrating. I wonder if there may be a mod conflict with another mod, or if maybe the mod downloaded incorrectly from Steam. One thing to try is deleting the mod on your computer so the game is forced to redownload it. I’ll try to get a file-folder link to you to test it out. What other mods are you running?
Maison De Cornusiac 22 Nov, 2018 @ 2:48am
Oh never mind, I see people posting the same requests for ages...
Maison De Cornusiac 22 Nov, 2018 @ 2:44am
Very interesting contribution to the ME universe, as usual. I think the logical next step is to catch cows, "domesticate" them and put them into a coral or barn. Propose to catch them by attaching a rope on their horns or around neck and "pull" them where you want to keep them. Where hopefully they do not despawn.
acr11thcav 21 Nov, 2018 @ 9:22pm
Hi, thanks for the response, just to help clearify the issue, I go to the cow and hit f, the que with my inventory opens, there is lots of room in the inventory, I put in the goods and it is taking around 8+ minutes to make the 4 milks and they show up in the 4 slots in the que, but I annot get the milk out of the que and if I close the que I loose the milk. I still have not seen other animals or barbarians, I am playing singular in creative. All new items have glitches so I understand, and I love the new critters,
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 21 Nov, 2018 @ 4:12pm
Hi acr. That's weird that the milk got stuck for you. The only reasons I could think are a vanilla bug, or maybe your personal inventory was full? When I test it, the milk always goes into my inventory fine. I'll look some more. Also, ideally the cow would stop moving while you are milking it, but the AI to do that isn't in the game yet. I'll look at making more "elk-like" deer, that would be fun. All a matter of getting a nice mix of animals in the game with the limitations!
acr11thcav 21 Nov, 2018 @ 3:18pm
Hi again, thanks for the response. I got the cow to make milk and it seemed to take forever, once I had the milk in the F que I could not get the milk out of the que and into my inventory. No matter what I tried nothing worked. I ended up loosing the milk when I had to click out of the que. Why couldn't the milk automatically go into the personal inventory? Is the cow still supposed to run around when it is being milked? Still havent seenany deer or barbarians since installing. Can you change the deer to elk with larger horn racks? Thanks and look forward to seeing what you come up with next.
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 20 Nov, 2018 @ 7:05pm
I mean, if it were possible to make them breed, I would love to do it! Maybe when the vanilla game's AI improves, we'll have more options. Fingers crossed.
Thunderbolt 20 Nov, 2018 @ 5:43pm
interesting, you should make them breed, following isnt really necessary, since you could always just trap them or chase them into a cage. Good work though! Nice to see a mod that adds animals!
