If I edit the patches file to .5 instead of 1, does that equal 50% price (which seems more balanced)? Thanks for this mod!

@Maple - there's not mod settings because it's a simple xml mod, as others said you can edit the xml file to adjust settings

@The Blind One I'm actually thinking of expanding my android-only colony's business empire into the arms trade. Get some crafter bots to mass-manufacture inexpensive combat gear (bolt-actions, machine pistols, auto pistols, frag grenades, flak vests, simple helmets), then send out caravans or call in trade ships and sell it off to interested parties.

While Peace is good for Business, War is also good for Business. The crafty Businessman learns to profit both in times of Peace as well as War. As Major General Smedley Butler once wrote, "War is a Racket". I mean, just look at the invasions of the "banana republics" by the US in the early 20th century. Look at Irak, Afghanistan. Even Ukraine.

The Big Boys never wage war out of charity. Only self-interest.

And my colony aims to be the Top Dog on its rimworld. Better to eat than to be eaten.

If anything guns and weapons should probably sell for a markup on barbaric planets with roaming savages out to eat your flesh lol

1575464750 is the ID of this mod and 294100 is the ID of rimworld, so that patch should be the same for everyone (relative to steam folder)

For those (like me) who couldn't find the patches.xml to change the %, I found mine at:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\294100\1575464750\Patches.xml

Assuming a default install path yours should be in the same place although I don't know if RimWorld is locally or universally tagged as "294100" and this mod as "1575464750" so if these are locally named you might have to search for it.

Anyway once you find it just modify line six "<SellPriceFactor>1</SellPriceFactor>" and change the "1" to anything from 0.0 to 1 (e.g. 0.8 is 80% so you get only 80% of the weapons value)

In a sense. it doesn't change the value of the gun so just installing it won't make your wealth jump up. But as you sell guns and get money and buy stuff with it you will be accruing wealth faster than normally.

@bearhiderug It shouldn't, seeing as it does not affect the value but only removes the sell price multiplier. Meaning that all this does is make you sell the guns for their full (preexisting) value. Sorry that if I screwed this explanation up somehow.

Thanks for the mod, Always seemed stupid to me that people only want to pay a couple of bucks for a gun considering how much of a huge advantage a good gun gives you on a rimworld. Doesn't seem over powered to me at all either, most guns will only sell for one/two hundred silver, I can sell cloths for that and they take less than a quarter the time to make. I can sell bulk animal leathers for thousands. I would say the game is far more balanced with this mod. Low vanilla sell values almost seem like an oversight on the part of the developer. Cheers.

probably a good idea to make sure this is compatible with https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1386385125&searchtext=loot Profitable Weapons, so they don't overwrite each other. would be nice to have a "looted" tag for weapons that are still used, but still make full price for weapons that are otherwise clean.
