What a well made level. Many puzzles, many enemies, interesting dialogue, challenge, and secrets. A stimulating romp using simple pieces.

was the ship suppose to be a no detail green block on the back? there was also no detail red blocks inside? rift token spam is a big pain due to the cutscene

Heads up, you should probably rename the map file something other than "timerift2.umap" as it conflicts with other mods maps with the same name and makes it so you can only have one with that name.

I liked this level, very fulfilling and the right amount of challenge (I didn't go through all routes though), but the extra challenge really got me smiling. That was super cool to add.

I also like the little lore bit at the end, a nice touch.

that was awesome

Great level. Challenging enough to be fun, but at a fair pace. The optional platforming left me with one health. That got my blood pumping a bit. Couldn't find the key at the end.

@Shararamosh

Interesting, never heard or seen those 3 ninja cats causing crashes because they are close together.

But, even if it was an isolated problem, I will look into that when I get some time to use the mod tools.

These 3 little bastards that are hiding near the cell crash my game because they're too close to each when they're spawned.

Why was that actually harder than Mustache Girl's fight?

@Rezilla -

Alright, when I have the free time to really sit down and mod, I will look into that bug and see what I can do to fix it.

I'll play around with ideas for adding new hidden sections, platforming bits, or whatever I want to spice up my map. Especially now that I know more about Kismet and how the programming in A Hat in Time / Unreal 3 works in general now, then a month and a half-ish ago when I first made this rift.

No, that was the only point in the level that it happened.

Yeah, the gears turning back on... was excellent, but I feel like it should have unlocked a new section of something. The level would also be harder if there were actually toxic plants around. Maybe make it so that the switch turns on fans everywhere to get rid of the plants? Then the fans can be used for an extra platforming section.

@Rezilla -

I was just thinking about the difficulty from the perspective of someone who are more 'casual' with platformers. But I do agree that I over-ranked the difficulty a bit for my map.

Did the bug, you are describing, happen to you at any other point in the level?

Yeah... that is one of cheese routes that I glossed over when I posted this mod.

That was my original idea for that part of the level. To have two paths you can go down. Either, go through the spaceship to find the key and deal with a crew of mafia. Or, go down a safer path above the ship. But, now I kind of regret taking that little section out of my final build. Maybe, I will add that section back in with a future update for my map.

The flower was supposed to break the bone cage above where the floor panel is. Then, you step on the panel to turn the gears back on. Maybe I will look into making that cinematic have more 'flare' to it.

Thank you for your feedback.

Difficulty is Piece of Cake, if I'm assuming Couch Potato means the player didn't even try in the main game. In this mod, if you know about basic game mechanics, it's a breeze.

The only time I died (except on purpose, to respawn), was on the sailboat, since there's a bug where the camera will pan around and cause the player to walk in the wrong direction (oof).

The biggest cheese route is above the spaceship, since you can walk over the roof. I honestly feel like that's fine as long as you block the exit, since that was a good way to hide the key (going to be honest, I beat the level then ghosted around because I couldn't find the key, even though I beat all the Mafias in that room).

Also, was the flower supposed to do anything when it died? It panned to the gears but I didn't notice any difference.

@Ms. Switch - I understand where you are coming from and I appreciate your feedback. I am still trying to find the perfect balance of fun and length, for what I want to create in terms of time rifts.
Eventually, I do think that I will find the best balance that works for both me and other players on my future mods. Again, your feedback is greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure I cheesed an entire checkpoint section
Ms. Switch 17 Dec, 2018 @ 10:42pm
While it was a mostly well built rift, it went on too long overstaying its welcome. Everytime I thought it was coming to an end it continued to drag on and on just to tease me with a locked door near the end.

@Tentacle Grape - Thank you for pointing that out. The more I look at my map, I can see some of the cheese routes you are talking about. Some of which, I'll be honest, I was not aware of at the time when I made it. But, ultimately this just makes me more aware of all possible cheese routes or exploit routes people can take or try to do in my future maps/mods for this game. Thanks again for bringing that to my attention.
Pay Child Suport 13 Dec, 2018 @ 8:59pm
so many cheese routes.
