LWOTC used to integrate this mod, so that LWOTC templars carry one gauntlet and a ballistic shield, but later that functionality was disabled, but you can reactivate it back somehow. In short, it's a mess and I have no idea. Either way it's definitley not designed to work around LWOTC's single build system.

You probably need to start a new campaign or wait until you can purchase an upgrade to next gauntlet tier before the one-handed gauntlets appear.

I have installed the mod, but when I put a templar's left arm (which should leave him without an arm) I can still see his forearm and I don't know what the problem could be, any suggestions?

Yes, the code in Ballistic Shields mod switches the position of the gauntlet.

I just recently added this mod back into my load order. So far, it seems to work as expected except for one cosmetic issue - the soldier appears to hold the gauntlet like a pistol when combined with a ballistic shield. Not a huge issue but it does look a little odd. Is this a conflict with the Ballistic Shields mod?

Theres only first gauntlet, so if you upgrade your gauntlets you cant use this mod hope you can make upgraded ones too

You can make gauntlets invisible with Weapon Skin Replacer mod. I didn't add "no right arm" cosmetic, because right arm is used for a lot of things, like throwing grenades and firing autopistol. Having no right arm would look really janky in the game.

I don't remember, open this mod's localization files with any text editor, you'll be able to see weapon template names there.
If you mean what its weapon category, then I probably did not change it from "gauntlet".

As this mod is an alternative primary weapon for Templars, is there any way it can be applied to other classes such as the RPGO "soldier"? I know the templar "idle/movement" animations make things tricky- What I'm really trying to do is create a Templar+RPGO Psion hybrid class with a primary (one handed) shard gauntlet and a psi-amp secondary.

It's part of this mod. Try enabling all body part filters. Also remember it's only for the left hand.

Try adding this line to the end of XComShields.ini in the ballistic shields mod, see if that gets you anywhere:
+AllowedPrimaryWeaponCategoriesWithShield=gauntlet

The more I think about it, the more I suspect that the issue may be with the shields mod rather than your mod. I have asked there to see if anyone has come across similar issues. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the information. I will check the other mods I have that might be related to this. There is one thing that gives me pause though and that is that the shard gauntlets (single and pair) are free to use (with the RPGO ability of Shard Wielder) already.

These gauntlets have the same weapon category as original shart gauntlets, so one of the other mods likely uses template names to check which items can be equipped rather than weapon category. Assuming it's not hardcoded, you might be able to solve it by adding these template names to a configuration file in one of these mods:

@Iridar - I am using RPGO and the Shard Wielder addon (which means any soldier can learn to use them) as well, so the issue isn't limited to Templars. Shields can be used by anyone and anyone with the shardwielder ability can use the gauntlets, but not both together (with your mod).

The problem is not with "these gauntlets", you need to unlock access to ballistic shields for templars.

That's odd because that has never been the case for my games - The shields are always greyed out for use with these gauntlets.
