LWOTC used to integrate this mod, so that LWOTC templars carry one gauntlet and a ballistic shield, but later that functionality was disabled, but you can reactivate it back somehow. In short, it's a mess and I have no idea. Either way it's definitley not designed to work around LWOTC's single build system.

You can make gauntlets invisible with Weapon Skin Replacer mod. I didn't add "no right arm" cosmetic, because right arm is used for a lot of things, like throwing grenades and firing autopistol. Having no right arm would look really janky in the game.

I don't remember, open this mod's localization files with any text editor, you'll be able to see weapon template names there.
If you mean what its weapon category, then I probably did not change it from "gauntlet".
I guess the only question I have is what is the "weapon/item" callout for this mod?

It's part of this mod. Try enabling all body part filters. Also remember it's only for the left hand.

I think you very well might be on to something with that one. I will try it tomorrow (logging off now) and let you know if that does the trick.
Try adding this line to the end of XComShields.ini in the ballistic shields mod, see if that gets you anywhere:
+AllowedPrimaryWeaponCategoriesWithShield=gauntlet
The more I think about it, the more I suspect that the issue may be with the shields mod rather than your mod. I have asked there to see if anyone has come across similar issues. Thanks for your help.
Thanks for the information. I will check the other mods I have that might be related to this. There is one thing that gives me pause though and that is that the shard gauntlets (single and pair) are free to use (with the RPGO ability of Shard Wielder) already.
These gauntlets have the same weapon category as original shart gauntlets, so one of the other mods likely uses template names to check which items can be equipped rather than weapon category. Assuming it's not hardcoded, you might be able to solve it by adding these template names to a configuration file in one of these mods:
IRI_ShardGauntlet_SingleRight_CV
IRI_ShardGauntlet_SingleRight_MG
IRI_ShardGauntlet_SingleRight_BM
The problem is not with "these gauntlets", you need to unlock access to ballistic shields for templars.
Could it be down to the load order?
That's odd because that has never been the case for my games - The shields are always greyed out for use with these gauntlets.
What do you mean? They should work together out of the box.
