I loved the idea behing waiting for brewing potions and more potions, It's so satisfying! :blight:

Hope there will be any visual update for cards and buffs, they really make things very confusing sometimes.

Very boring. Each turn you just cast flight, flight and flight again and if you still has a little remaining energy strike enemy with some cheap attack.

ah hi, sorry i meant to say from a power called Riches, it says this:
"Whenever you use an upgraded potion, obtain a random un-upgraded potion"

this was the situation i was intending to describe, but if that card is from another mod i may have gotten confused :)

I'm not sure but from your description I think you might misunderstand the concept how the Sage gets potions. We don't have a card that gives you a potion immediately to your potion slot. Cards saying "Brew a potion" ask you to wait for usually 4 turns until the potion is ready. All potions that are still in the "brewing queue" disappear at the end of combat. This behaviour is intended.

We could change it so you'd get the potions from the queue at the end of the fight. My guess is that this would make it too easy. As it is now, you often have to weigh the risk of staying in combat a bit longer for filling up on potions. This can be especially tricky in Act 2. While this can certainly make fights unnecessarily tedious, I still think this often makes an interesting decision.

hi i tried this mod and the sage is really cool :)

one thing that might not be a bug (but it felt like a bug :) was when i played a card that gives you a free potion added to your potion slot, whenever you play an Upgraded potion - but in this case i used/threw an upgraded potion thinking i would have a basic potion to take with me into the next tough battle, but the upgraded potion actually ended up killing the monster i threw it at, and it instantly ended the battle and i ended up going into the next battle without any potions at all, (and the sage died) :)

is it possible to tweak that effect, so that the basic potion is given, as soon as we throw the upgraded potion? (or at least to still give us a basic potion in the reward screen if it killed the last monster(s)? - if you can that would be great :lunar2019piginablanket:

For those who are often killed by the Red Giant Elite, I prefer Option B.It enables the starting card set to have a combination of resources and consumption means.

Hi, thanks for your suggestion! Since "Fly" is part of the base deck, it is supposed not to be too strong. I agree that right now, the effect when you already have Flight is a bit underwhelming (equals a regular Defend). I think we could try out some options.

Option A
Fly, 1 Energy, Skill. Gain 1 (2) Flight. Costs 1 more if you already have Flight.
This makes it easier to stack Flight, making the power "Altitude" questionable. So maybe the cost should even go up to 3 when you already have Flight. I like the simplicity of this version.

Option B
Fly, 1 Energy, Attack. If you Fly, Refund 1 and deal 2 damage to random enemies 2 (4) times. Otherwise, gain 1 Flight.
This is more inspired by your suggestion. It would make the character a bit more aggressive, which I certainly would welcome. I like the thematic tie to Byrds also having the Multi-attack while they fly.

I'll try some stuff out and we'll see what we can do :)

Is there any plan to strengthen the "fly" card? For example, change it into an attack card or 0mana.

Hi idiot5k, thanks for looking into this - I answered over in Bundle of Potions' comments.

Combining with Wide potions might be interesting... What should happen with Sacred Bark + Wide Potion + Upgraded Potion? I guess we should keep multiplying effects to make the combination hilarious, so 150 dmg Wide Fire Potion+ for example.

it would be nice if the upgraded potions was compatible with wide potions (for upgraded wide potions) and bundle of potions (the person who made the bundle of potions mod said that he could make his mod compatible with this one if you could

Actually, nevermind. The tooltips weren't displaying properly but the potions did have their double effectiveness.

I found a conflict with the upgraded potions, the Sacred Bark relic, and potions from other class mods. I had two upgraded potions from other classes; Wither potion from Shade and Steel potion from Silver Wolf. Both potions were not effected by Sacred Bark but now their tooltips claim they are part of the Sage mod. On a related note is it possible to add a toggle to disable upgraded potions when playing other classes?

Hi Gentleman Wolfe,

thank you for your honest feedback. We are obviously no game designers but we still tried to make some fun stuff happen with our characters. Some of the builds we wanted to make possible are:

Flying / Tanky Build
No Flying / DMG Build
X Cost card build
Potion Brewing Build

We also have the Artifact, but you're right, that can be hard to build a run around.
All in all we appreciate your feedback. Thanks for taking the time to write something up.

Honestly feels a little underwhelming. It's good, yes, and it has unique mechanics. Well made, and I'm quite impressed at how much thought has gone into this character. But the potions are just potions, applying artifact is a weakened version of status effects in other mods (which prevents you from using debuffs) and while well designed, I haven't noticed too many builds that can be lent into.
TL;DR - Good character, just feels a little monotone. Worth checking out, but not my cup of tea.

Pretty fun thus far, however, there's a card that says it increases damage twice per artifact the enemy has, and I was thrilled to use it in those situations, however it actually only increases damage by 2 per artifact, so needless to say I was a little disappointed. Perhaps the wording should be changed?

Maybe I've been lucky but they don't seem particularly hard to obtain. The general idea of having upgraded potions seems unbalanced to me. I want this mod for the sage character but I'd rather turn off the potions, either in settings or just make it a seperate mod.

Hi Kurtis Stryker - is there any case of a potion that seems particularly unbalanced? The upgraded potions are intended to make potion gameplay more diverse, not necessarily easier (since they are also harder to obtain).

I haven't played the character yet but I have the mod active. Because of this there are very powerful potions in all my games unbalancing them. Are these potions supposed to make the game easier or are they only meant to be played with this character?

Wow, thank you. I was enjoying play this mod, and I didn't want to drop it. It's a shame that it crashed, I had the blowpipe and bark relics for a fire potion build. I was closing out battles in 3 turns... :winter2019happydog:

There is still a broken flight buff, as reported by DeNarr. I got it from a Grounded Strike that was obtained from Nilry's Codex. The game crashed when I got hit. Please fix this.

@Bewul Disoriented only changes an attack intent in the current round (removing one attack instance - 20x2 becomes 20x1, 50 becomes 0 etc.), without carrying over to the next round. This means it has no effect when they do a buff move, just like when Incense Burner triggers on the wrong turn.

What is the 'dissoriented' effect from the creepy carousel supposed to do? I got it to activate on a boss, and it attacked normally (first action it did was a buff, didn't consume the stack, buff worked, then next round it attacked me, I lost the hp as normal, the stack of dissoriented was spent)

Well, I don't think you fully changed everything. I had to abandon my run, because there seemed to be two different types of flight. One went down every attack regardless, the other didn't if you blocked the hit. However, the game would crash if you didn't block the hit

So, I think your flight is messed up.
"But beware, for each time you take unblocked attack damage, you will lose one charge!"

We lose charge even if we fully block the attack.

Hallo, ich muss sagen es ist mein Lieblings Charakter im spiel geworden er macht richtig viel Spaß abwechslungsreiche Attacken und sehr leicht zu bedienen er ist genial geworden ich hoffe du machst noch Updates wie mehr Spielkarten usw. würde mich freuen, wenn du ihn weiter entwickelst sehr gute Arbeit mach weiter so

"Read The Riot Act" works like intended, you play the card for free! This works similar to cards like Havoc or Mayhem in the base game. We will probably buff the card for the next update so it becomes more intuitive. "How To Charm A Sentry" might also get a rework, but consider that Artifacts can help damaging opponents with other cards.

Hey my names Sage(i know, right?) possible error, the card "read the riot act"+ seems to automatically play the x cost card at 0 cost, leaving my energy unchanged aside from the 1 energy the original cost of read the riot act. also, "how to charm a sentry" could use more balance between being upgraded, its really weak even without the giving artifact, and upgraded is decent at best, dealing only 4 damage per energy, which is worse than a basic strike, not even considering the artifact that negates so many debuff cards you have.

Had a lot of fun with the many unusual mechanics she has, but my god can she balloon to crazy levels with a few set ups. Ascension 7 so far since I played with the sage in the past when you had to get characters off of git hub. Liking how there are a bunch of different win conditions but whoo wee, artifact proliferation + steroid/speed potions just goes off when you keep the deck trimmed.
