@oddgen triangle bandits have to be another mod. @Hobo in Kmart likely there is another mod that effects dust tower in some way. I think if this mod is placed after other mods changing dust tower in any way it should take precedent. Allthough it's been over 2 years since I've played or modded Kenshi so I can't be 100% sure.

After I killed the Dust King I came back and it says it belongs to no faction and the tower is completely destroyed.

@criticallord: Are you sure you went to the Dust King's Tower? The Black Dragon Ninjas have a tower not too far from there and there is a mod that gives the Tower of Ninjas to the Shinobi when the leader is removed.

Small problem, prisoners don't starve.

Any chance you could change the "is alive" check to an "is ok" ?? That would let us take over should we imprison him (or even recruit him with one of the appropriate mods).

Hi! cool mod but, I killed the dust king and returned his bounty. But now the shinobi thieves occupy the tower. Is there a way to get them out and or still occupy the tower?

Note I still have dust bandits and dust bandits (override) in red -running, but cannot see a town ring in f12

I think I have a fix. It's worked for a few loads now.

Status: dust tower takeover mod running.
Tower belongs to Barracks no name but town is dust bandits.
Map shows X dust bandits. (Orange cos they don't like me)

Fix: build a storm house on the plateau near Waypoint.
Shift-f12, open town list and drag 'your outpost' ring over dust tower.
Move dust tower ring to the middle of the river.

Save and load.

Map icon shows your outpost with storm house icon (blue).

After some time blue storm house icon becomes blue tower icon again.

(I ran everyone to Hub and back but I don't think it mattered this time)
Also dismantled storm house and built it outside dust tower wall

ah yeah realised that when I read it properly on my computer. Currently the Tower is mine (Barracks - Nameless) but the town is not (blue all around when I try and plant a farm). Map shows as 'Dust King Tower X' in Orange, I don't have any blue tower or X on the map anymore. . I'm gonna try taking everyone over to Hub again.

The conquest mod is just for Squin and the Hub and is completely separate from the Dust king Tower.

Howls@TheMoon, love your work and work ethic. Just discovered your conquest mod. tonight I'll drop the Dust Tower Takeover mod and subscribe to your conquest mod instead and see if that works. Or does the conquest mod need to be running before I kill the Dust King? I took the tower of ninjas last night with help from 3 mercinary factions 😁.

if it's not a mod conflict I do remember seeing some recent changes in the way overrides work in the base game.

ah. I'm struggling again

Shift+F12 shows 'Dust King Tower' and 'Dust King Tower (override) PC' are both active in the town placement list.

If I drag the vanilla one away it turns orange and both map icons change to standard 'X'

How to disable the vanilla tower? see screenshot linked

I just want to hold the tower I took. Brilliant mod

Solved my own question below. Solution: Just send everyone to Hub. Distance and zone doesn't seem to matter when moving your squad away and back, but entering another town triggers the change. Hope this helps someone else.

Love love love this mod. It whereat on my first playthrough, this time around when DK is dead and I've taken my squad over the border and returned, (Shem & back), I find the dustking map icon turns blue, lclick on the building says barracks noname, but there's no tower icon on the map like last time. I can modify the furniture in the tower but not put any of my own buildings nearby. (Blue). I tried importing but it only turned the map icon white again. Has anyone else experienced this? Do I need to go further away? Smaller squad (I have 10). Something else?

It does, I haven't added any bar squats to this one. I can add any unique recruits found here as bar squads for the player takeover version. That way they will show up for people that have not recruited them.

Correct, it won't transfer ownership untill he is dead and you have left the zone with all members of your party and then return.

I'm not quite sure what causes that, but have had others say they experienced the same thing.
In all my testing the override is placed properly and the old tower removed (in shft+f12 menu the old tower is in red) even on save and load. I have never moved any icons with that menu in my games though. Another player said that leaving the area and returning would fix the issue but he had not used the town menu either. My guess is it arises from a vanilla issue somewhere when your save reaches a certain size as in my testing i had small squads and tested over only a few days game time with save/load and imports.
Another thing that comes to mind would be the glitchy load from in game, if you don't exit the game completely before re loading a game it can cause weirdness.

First off great mod. ive built a grand city around the tower. my issue is that after load up the dust bandits tower symbol returns on the map and causes issues with my peoples idle behavior. they go from sitting around to aimless. i have to go into shift F-12 to move the dust tower and place the override youve made. if i import its fine but loading up causes that. like other than that awesome mode is there a way to stop that though?

Howling, I had a wild idea. Is it possible for you to do a version of this for Tengu’s Vault? I don’t know which character you’d want to give the death trigger to, either Tengu, the Warden, or even both, but it would be radd to be able to take over that hill and building. And you’ve somehow made this version keep the furniture (kudos to that!) and Tengus Vault’s furniture would amazing. Just a thought.

Jaisiks, Once you get Dusk Tower to become operational for you, let us know if you get issues that arise similar to me. (Refer to the discussion between me and the mod just below, regarding Dusk towers walls visually glitching away).

Yeah I think that would be an easier solution, adding a new mine that the player can take over. Good idea. Might be a week or so, but if I get bored of typing in dialog for world takeover states in the Narko mod, I might get to it sooner :)

To make that clearer mines are linked to other mines with the same name and not linked to abandoned towns, all the abandoned towns are link to each other.

In my experience with things like the mines, if one is overriden with a new faction they will all change. In the big mod I'm working on with Narko's Dark ones the whole map get taken over and things like abandoned towns, ravaged hamlets and mines all are linked to each other.
When I am through with my current project and testing I will put some time into looking at that and atleast put out a take over for mines of that sort if I can't seperate them somehow.

After killing the dust king did you leave the zone completely? Or did you just kill him and import from the tower?
Try running to the hub and back, it should remove that old town icon because dust king is dead.
Importing and save load while in the tower might be the issue, I will take another look. It could be a mod conflict too though if you have any nods that effect the dust king or tower.

also i have inported saved and reloaded and everything but it will not let me build in the tower. it did at first but then i loaded back into the game and it moved the icon up and made where i could not build in that spot so i imported and now the icon is right back on top of the base i built and i cant build anywhere near there now.
