Yeah it's designed so that the cities physically grow as they get more pops

If I had to guess they're mutually exclusive based on the 'priority' of the mod. Hopefully you can at least work around it by placing districts in forests that are not within the 1 tile ring around the city

I think that the houses only being able to spawn if a district is placed directly adjacent to a CC actually makes a tad sense! It makes cities have a slightly better gradient to the less populated outskirts

There was not much adjustability in the settings I played with. More or less, what you see is what you get unfortunately.

is there any way to make less buildings spawn when the city doesnt have a lot of pop? because rn it generates a bunch of houses which look out of place because the city doesnt have enough buildings yet to mix in with those houses.

No, it's hardcoded by the game such that sprawl only appears on adjacent districts.

It's a hardcoded limit with the game I believe, I could not find any way to get it to work with wonders

Edit the m_y and m_x values for Var_SpineWidthRange and Var_SpineLengthRange under the Gen_CityCenter and Gen_GenericDistrict sections in the artdef file. From memory, bigger number results in more sprawl.

I am not sure if that is possible. You might get some mileage out of looking for building scaling values to tweak in the citygenerators.artdef file, I don't particularly remember if there actually were any but if there were, that's probably where they would be.

First of all, excellent mod!

Secondly, I've been looking for a mod that makes the initial dock/port graphics in coastal cities slightly smaller, because I dislike how it clips river deltas in some cases. Is this something that can be done via modding at all? This more of a hail mary, and I am not asking you to incorporate this or anything, but I am sure I there are likeminded pedants around...

Not sure what would be causing that. I don't think it would be this mod as this mod only makes changes to the CityGenerators.artdef file, which has no relation to the UI or country banners or anything else.

After playing in Germany, I found that each player's national banner icon was missing, the game corner frame was missing, and the exclamation mark appeared inexplicably on the coast. Thank you for your production, and hope it can be repaired!

I just subscribed to this mod and it works just fine with the latest updates for Civ. For transparency I'm on MacOS.

Not sure what would cause that as neither this mod nor the game have had any updates recently. Try unsubscribing and resubscribing. If that doesn't work, try manually deleting the mod files from the Steam workshop directory for this game and then unsub/resubbing. Beyond that I'm not sure how else you could troubleshoot it. Hope you end up getting it working, good luck

I'm no mod guru so I depend upon others to create them. For some time, I thought I was totes alone in thinking 6 would look so better with 4 and 5 style building gener'n sprinkled, sprawled past the district bounds bc nobody else mentioned this (yet another) cartoony prob w how bldgs spawn while the city grows. Yes, citygenerators was the only file I touched. Though there is a districts.artdef file that might help you in terms of letting it generate around campuses and govt plazas, I never looked at it so I'm not sure.

It seems like upon looking at the file there were no subsections for specific districts, I swear there were. Sorry for leading you on a wild goose chase, I guess I was thinking of something else.

Thank you for your help with my query earlier. I did have a look at the citygenerators.artdef but couldn't find a section that related to specific districts not generating sprawl. There was mention of a 'blocklist' but couldn't see how to change it.

Ideally I'd like to fix my campus and gov't plaza not sprawling and If I'm lucky find the section that lets me modify sprawl so I can make a bit more appear but not as much as this mod. It may be a bit beyond my caveman brain though, so was the Citygenerators the only art def file you modified for this?

Really great and simple mod that just makes the game so much more immersive, your cities now look like actual cities and their growth and sprawl becomes even more realistic. Amazing what such a simple change could bring, great mod!

I think this mod really brings the game to life, and I enjoy the way villages develop around various districts.
