uncle ron has made crossings on Avon Valley and I can't reproduce them
bakepotatou 4 jul 2023 om 13:59
Any reason these won't connect with any railways to make concrete crossings?
MichaelR 2 dec 2022 om 14:54
I Have a slight issue with node controller. I Saw in a video by Biffa Plays Indie games, that you can see node controller to set part to a crossing, then add traffic lights. But upon doing this, it only adds traffic lights facing one direction, not the other, Any ideas why?

Junction props seems to be kinda broken
Flashpoint CIC 8 aug 2022 om 9:47
@Slye_Fox
Yeah I'm also having that problem. Great roads but this is super annoying.

Someone has suggested that the roads have no elevated model. Darned if I know though
Slye_Fox 20 feb 2022 om 20:01
Would it be possible to get a mod like the 'British Road Textures and Signs' mod but in this style?
Macwelshman  [auteur] 28 jan 2022 om 16:41
@NeoKuro I have to be honest, I have no idea. It may be worth reaching out to the community for some help. I hope you get it sorted.
NeoKuro 28 jan 2022 om 16:24
@Macwelshman ah right, is there a way to stop pedestrians crossing at the roundabouts? They keep crossing and its like 1 or 2 at a time which slows down my traffic flow :(
Macwelshman  [auteur] 28 jan 2022 om 15:53
@NeoKuro I assume you're using TMPE to control the junctions. Unfortunately these roads were created before TMPE so therefore don't contain that functionality.
NeoKuro 28 jan 2022 om 13:36
I've done a bit of testing and it looks like all the Roundabout roads are broken. Pedestrians ignore the intersection settings for it.

The regular 2 Lane one way roads are fine (they won't cross if crossing is disabled) sadly it lacks the capacity for what I want :'(
NeoKuro 28 jan 2022 om 11:52
So I think this applies to all the roads. But I've noticed with roundabouts in particular that even if I disable crossings (to prevent pedestrians crossing at roundabouts) they still continue to cross - even into the centre of the roundabout?

I'm using TMPE 11.6.4 STABLE for the record.

@Vadicus "Tell me about it"
Slye_Fox 23 jan 2022 om 4:47
Can we get some more asymmetric roads?
eg; a 2 & 3 lane one.
Vadicus 20 jan 2022 om 19:23
@Macwelshman Yes, that is true, but not the same as being click free. Thanks for the reply. Keep up the good work, roads are a pain in the butt to make.
Macwelshman  [auteur] 20 jan 2022 om 16:06
@Vadicus You can always disable the roads you don't want and they won't load into the game!!
Vadicus 19 jan 2022 om 6:20
Too bad it's a pack. Would like the ability to subscribe to individual roads like Vanilla+. Nice work though.
scottfraser88 25 jun 2021 om 7:25
Love these roads, work so well for my hometown build.
Although with node controller - if I put a crossing in, I get a blue box across the road. Trying to work out why?

Hi Macwelshman, first of all: Great assets, you're doing an incredible job mate! I have a question regarding performace impact of those assets. I only need the 18m road, but I can't sub only this type. Does it even matter if I sub to one road or the whole pack? With LSM and shared textures I'm not totally sure. Otherwise I'll use a local copy of only that one road. Not sure if that makes any sense tho...
Macwelshman  [auteur] 16 jan 2021 om 17:04
@ShammyLevva Thanks. We drive on the left but we use right hand drive cars.
ShammyLevva 14 dec 2020 om 17:49
Absolutely love the idea of using the entire pack, UK resident just getting started in game and already addicted so starting restarting city with proper UK roads from scratch makes sense. I am somewhat confused with the comment in the text though

Quote “ These roads have been created to allow both left and right hand drive roads in your cities. As they are UK roads I recommend using right hand drive, but I would, wouldn't I!”

This seems bizarre as we drive on the left in the UK. A typo in the recommendation perhaps?

Thanks so much for this obvious labour of love. Looks great.
Painful Agenda 18 apr 2020 om 12:17
Great roads can you please please make a tram road and if possible a 3+2 2 way as I have areas that need dedicated turning lanes but only one way not both
jacc 22 mrt 2020 om 8:52
Thankyou !
fits perfectly on my Hong Kong map
patrickogd 18 feb 2020 om 9:41
Beautiful work, love using these roads. One question, does the roads support pedestrians ??
Doobrit 26 sep 2019 om 2:46
The lane marking are not showing for me. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong pls
Slye_Fox 7 jun 2019 om 16:59
Fair enough.
Macwelshman  [auteur] 7 jun 2019 om 16:50
@Slye_Fox Sorry. Creating the Road Project was a labour of love. It was very challenging and took a great deal of determination to get it finished. It was very different from creating houses (modelling them is something I really enjoy) and frustrating because of the poor quality of the Road Editor. However, I am pleased with what I have achieved and, if I am able, will keep the project up to date. I'm glad you're using them and hope you'll understand where I'm coming from.
Slye_Fox 7 jun 2019 om 16:34
Okay.
It's just a bit jarring using all these nice roads, and then having to use the normal tram ones.
Macwelshman  [auteur] 7 jun 2019 om 15:53
@Slye_Fox It's unlikely but not completely ruled out. Just don't hold your breath.
Slye_Fox 7 jun 2019 om 13:28
Just curious; will you also be making tram versions of some of the roads?
Macwelshman  [auteur] 27 mei 2019 om 14:31
@BigWolf Thanks for your understanding. I wish everyone respected the time and effort put into creating these assets as well as you do.
BigWolfChris 27 mei 2019 om 12:56
I am using the map theme, but the markings are very dull, and blend in with the road surface. I can appreciate the effort to change all of them, I'll learn to live with it :)
Macwelshman  [auteur] 27 mei 2019 om 12:10
@BigWolf The road markings are part of the road texture so any alterations would require every road to be updated (that won't be happening). The overall brightness was increased after the pack release. If you aren't using the specially created map theme then the markings may not appear correctly.
BigWolfChris 27 mei 2019 om 12:04
One suggestion if it's not to much. Lane markers could do with being a tiny bit thicker, and a little white, might be me and my old age, but I'm struggling a bit to see them when not really zoomed in
BigWolfChris 27 mei 2019 om 9:47
Awesome, thank you
Macwelshman  [auteur] 27 mei 2019 om 9:47
@BigWolf If you use 'Find it' to search for 'UKR-D ArF', 'UKR-D ArFL', UKR-D ArFR, 'UKR-D ArL' and 'UKR-D ArR' you can place them down manually.
BigWolfChris 27 mei 2019 om 9:44
Ah gotcha, is there anyway for them to appear at certain junctions, like leading on to roundabouts for example? I use TM:PE a lot to alter lane turnings lol
Macwelshman  [auteur] 27 mei 2019 om 9:36
@BigWolf Direction arrows only appear at traffic lights. Make sure you've subscribed to the 'Essentials' pack as well.
BigWolfChris 27 mei 2019 om 8:59
Am I missing something obvious, or do these roads not have direction arrows on them for turning lanes, etc?
Dourbracken 29 apr 2019 om 20:49
Absolutley love the mod, but I do have one question. How come the zone allignments don't quite line up? I get it that maybe it is meant to increase building diversity, but it can be a little bit OCD triggering. Once again, I love the mods, and have began using them frequently.
Macwelshman  [auteur] 24 apr 2019 om 0:05
@aubergine18 Those pesky bollards. I’ll look into it.
leftbehind 23 apr 2019 om 19:13
Found a minor bollard glitch on "UKR-MR 4L2W-19 NP Grass" when the road transitions from ground to elevated:

I just started upgrading my city with the UK Roads and they look awesome. Seriously good job! As i'm using trams im facing quite the problems here. Are you also going to include them? Secondly, a bit more variation would be nice, especialy for Medium Roads (e.g. Trees in the middle, Parking + Bus or Bike lane).
Macwelshman  [auteur] 21 mrt 2019 om 5:39
@BlackStork The markings are part of the road texture and require the road texture that is part of the UK Roads map theme. I can see that you are not using the theme and a have much lighter road surface. The way to solve this is to either subscribe to the map theme or use Theme Mixer to ad the road surface diffuse textures.
Rubber Duck 6 mrt 2019 om 5:21
i will look into that, i dont use theme mixer because its a really heavy mod for fps
Macwelshman  [auteur] 6 mrt 2019 om 4:04
@Rubber Duck Glad you got it sorted. Have you considered using 'theme mixer' mod? If you like another theme and just want the best UK theme textures you can replace the pavement, road surface (up/down) and the grass. My theme duplicates the grass in the ruined texture to stop the horrible brown by the side of every road.
Rubber Duck 6 mrt 2019 om 3:31
it was a problme with a theme. i just created my own theme using your theme and another one and now everything is correct!
Macwelshman  [auteur] 5 mrt 2019 om 4:37
@industrialcomplex @Rubber Duck I've tested the the roads and all seems OK (see video https://www.dropbox.com/s/wu8ylytsua4s84u/UKR-MR%20Test.mov?dl=0) There must be something else causing this.
Rubber Duck 5 mrt 2019 om 3:32
also in corners of most roads with a 90degre turn
Rubber Duck 5 mrt 2019 om 3:32
i do experience flickering with the bus lanes road
Macwelshman  [auteur] 5 mrt 2019 om 3:30
@industrialcomplex @Rubber Duck Could you let me know if it's all the pavements flicker. It can't be Z order fighting as the pavements are one mesh using the pavement texture. They're effectively transparent.
