Why do archers have 29 missile damage? Basically 1 shot 1 kill. Is that intentional or because of other mods such as The Shieldwall?

@TheGreatFerret You can download Pack File Manager and edit the mod file with that program. It's essentially just a spreadsheet editor. There are tutorials online showing how to use it. That said, I am in the process of updating the mod and removing most of the nerf to fire arrows, as I have re-evaluated this topic, so stay tuned!

The problem with the knockback is that it seems to be pretty big, even on the lowest setting, and just doesn't feel realistic for arrow fire. I feel the slowdown effect is a much better effect in this case.

possible to put a little knockback on arrow volleys?
i would think if you got an arrow in your shoulder or other, you would stagger a bit.

Apologies to all who have asked questions to which I have not replied. I'm glad that many have found this mod useful, I originally made this mode for myself and figured that others might enjoy it so I uploaded it, but I cannot guarantee regular updates/support. Hopefully soon I'll get around to updating and tweaking the mod, but I honestly haven't touch ToB in a long time.

That said, if anyone would like to take what I have done and build on it you are more than welcome! I have made several changes to missile stats, but the main feature is the change in trajectory which is done (for anyone who is interested) simply by altering the "Muzzle Velocity" value of each shot type. Simply put, lower velocity = higher trajectory and vice versa. You just need to tweak things until it feels/looks right. Too low a velocity causes reduced range and can cause weird behaviours, like units not shooting properly.

Except having a firing arc isn't actually realistic because archers historically shot forward not upwards.

1. Could you make a pure arcing shot (increased angle) mod without any other changes(for example: remain incendiary shots ability)?
2. Maybe also add "increased angle" as a new ability with a button for players to choose whether and when to use this high angle firing mode during their battles? (Like, enemies are very close to you, your arrow units would use low angle as default, but now I wanna force them to use high angle, so the arrows can have more opportunity to avoid enemies' shields protection, so that I can kill more.)

I like that you nerfed the fire arrows from an anti-personnel viewpoint.... as far as the debate goes on their actual use though, there are multiple sources of historic data detailing how incendiary weapons have been used throughout ancient and medieval history. The siege of Tel Lachish in 709 BC has fire arrows involved and the Romans adopted their use later using loose bows and iron boxes filled with oil, not to mention lubricating javelins with flammable adhesives etc.. Anyway thanks for the mod, I've enjoyed it so far :lunar2019grinningpig:

@Hupadgh-Shagg. If you are refering to Magnar's refill mod, it should work fine with that, as that mod does not edit projectile tables. As for mods that change the reload speed, they will most likely be incompatible as they would be editing the same tables. If a mod only edited the individual unit's reload skill, then it would work with this mod, as this mod does not touch units. Hope that makes sense! Cheers

@Praetor As in increase the arc even higher? I will experiment with this, but I think there is a limit to how high they can go using my current method. What I have done is reduce the "muzzle_velocity" of the arrows, which causes the archers to aim higher to compensate for this. The problem is that if I reduce the velocity too much, the max range decreases. It is possible to set a static firing arc, however, this is very unrealistic as they will follow this arc even when the enemy is 20m away, which just looks silly. But, I will play around and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the input!
