Not sure what happened to my original comments, but, I've never used Console commands, and what was happening with those Giants is that I was up the side of a Mountain. the Giants were little pinpricks spots down at the bottom. I shot at them, they Aggro'd. Afterward, I found many of the Arrows I had shot at them on the Ground. They had Appearently passed straight through the Giants, never Registering a "Hit". I still have the same problem to this day with the mod. Does'nt matter what I do to fix it. Even disabling all other Mods, and running earlier versions of Skyrim.

@ dude_idc: effective range of an arrow (or any projectile) in real life is determined by its speed, angle with respect to the terrain, gravity, wind drag, and drift. For in-game purposes, only the gravity, angle and speed are relevant. The gravity is a defined game engine setting, the angle is determined by the player and thus the last variable, speed, is determined by the type of bow used by the player (bows that exert a greater force upon the arrow i.e. higher level bows, will seemingly produce a flatter arrow trajectory). Since the arrows still must follow a parabolic trajectory, what this mod does is remove the cap that causes arrows to magically disappear even when they are meant to be flying still. This mod doesn't alter the values to extend the trajectory, because it doesn't alter the actual performance values of any bow; it merely removes the artificial cap so that arrows are able to attain their true and intended range instead of being deleted by the game while in mid-air.

@ long dong john: read the description again. This time, properly.

does it change it 4 bows 2

This saves me going into my game files and adjusting the arrow distance. I mainly hunt in skyrim so this is very useful. If you can't hit a fox in the middle of a golden orange field from the max vanilla distance you shouldn't use this mod.
Dr. Tölpel 27 May, 2015 @ 2:27pm
Does this change the Bound Bow too?

its the armor from the dawnguard dlc
Brandtchula 25 Jul, 2014 @ 9:49am
what is the armor mod you are using in the picture
dude_idc 14 Jul, 2014 @ 8:32am
i was going to say what evian said 2000 meters is like 6-7k feet..is that realistic? is there a way to edit the distance in which an arrow can hit someone and the speed of an arrow? ill just go online and look up the actual distance and speed an arrow in real life would go and apply it to the game i just dont know how to get into that part of the games files n all that

I'm pretty sure this mod is not working for me. I've been using it for a few days and there seems to be no difference from the vanilla version of the game. I've always played an archer of some sort, and I've been playing since the game came out. I still have to get as close as I used to in in order to shoot an enemy. Does anyone else have this problem?

theres no way the unit of length is meters, if it was, 2000 would be more than plenty.
Ithronyar 25 Feb, 2014 @ 12:55am
Is there any good reason why this mod needs Hearthfire, or is it just an unnecessary reference?
xK Marcus 22 Jan, 2014 @ 12:05pm
This, nor the other one works for me, I've tried them both seperately, and together, only vanilla range hits still....

Im not sure if i missed this or not, but does this effect mods for muskets? they are basically crossbows
KoNKer 1 Dec, 2013 @ 2:08pm
@Donkey Teeth Thanks for the reply. I was using both of them at the same time and nothing was broken but now I know. Great mod btw.
Donkey Teeth  [author] 1 Dec, 2013 @ 12:44pm
@jonkidner & @KoNKer You need one or the other, I don't know what would happen if you used both. You might break the game, or maybe nothing would happen, or maybe all the vanilla range weapons would duplicate (appear twice in smithing/shopping options), just general shenanigans. I reccomend using one OR the other.
KoNKer 28 Nov, 2013 @ 10:33pm
As jonkidner stated do I need both versions of LRVW or just this one?
FOODLEBOB 26 Nov, 2013 @ 11:00pm
Just to make sure, but this mod covers ALL of the bows from vinilla Skyrim in addition to Dawnguard? Not just the ones added by Dawnguard.
caribourange 26 Nov, 2013 @ 4:09am
@Donkey Teeth, I do have hearthfire, so I have no idea what could be causing the issue. I'm using the vanilla one at the moment, which works fine.
Donkey Teeth  [author] 26 Nov, 2013 @ 1:35am
@EquinneEquinox, This mod does also require Hearthfire. It doesn't actually affect anything from hearthfire, so whether or not it causes problems is very hit or miss, but if you don't have/are not using hearthfire, that will sometimes cause problems.
caribourange 25 Nov, 2013 @ 2:18pm
When trying to use this mod, it causes my game to crash upon loading the game. I had no issues with the vanilla version. Is there any way to fix this and has anyone else had this issue?
Donkey Teeth  [author] 24 Nov, 2013 @ 7:32pm
@fantredath.... you used the console to hold the giants in place.... using the console always has weird side effects. It didn't happen to be the TAI and/or TCAI command was it? That can cause probelms, and since you said you were strait above them, now I'm thinking you might have been using the TCL command. Do you know what the TCL command is? It's the "toggle collision" command, stuff will pass through stuff, bodies will pass through ground, etc. That's probably not a good estimate.

On the topic of "REAL arrows don't ___" It's a video game, run on computers with severe limitations, we're really far away from being able to reproduce reality. Just chill out.
Donkey Teeth  [author] 24 Nov, 2013 @ 7:13pm
@fantredath you can aggro people/monsters without hitting them. Just so you know. But it is also entierly possible that you went outside of the *new* effective distance. All I did was up it 2.5x the original, if you go outside that (which, while unlikely, is still possible) the arrows will still have to effect.

If the only thing making you think this mod isn't working is the fact that the giants go aggro, double check and make sure you're hitting them.

Needs some work here. Keeps on crashing when I am subcribed to this mod.
Nasty Peep 27 Aug, 2013 @ 11:47pm
Yes....I'm having the exact same problem as Suzaku. Just a bit annoying, cause I rather like crossbows. Good find Suzaku.
Suzaku 10 Aug, 2013 @ 9:54am
I seem to have stumbled upon a bug. Using TES5Edit, it seems that this version would also try to reference Hearthfire when loading. Without Hearthfire installed, it would crash the game right after the logo. Removing this and installing the vanilla version allows it to play just fine.
Maebure 9 Aug, 2013 @ 2:29am
The Arrows Enhanced mod and this one have worked fine for me over the last several hours. You just have to adjust your aim for the difference in the arc his mod makes. But no conflicts or crashes that I can find.

Its a good combination.
Donkey Teeth  [author] 8 Aug, 2013 @ 9:15pm
@Maebure, please let me know about any conflicts you may find. Thanks!
Maebure 8 Aug, 2013 @ 9:14pm
Anyone tried this with Arrows Enhanced? I'm about to try it out, hoping it doesn't crash.
Vess 8 Aug, 2013 @ 7:05pm
@Donkey Teeth @kitedpiper Thanks guys, found it.
Donkey Teeth  [author] 8 Aug, 2013 @ 4:48pm
@Souler : To answer your question; no, it will only work with weapons found in the Vanilla Game and Dawnguard DLC. However, it is possible that some modded weapons will have the effect if the load order is set properly, and the manner of creating the custom weapon is a certain way. No promises, and it's actually really UNLIKELY that it would happen that way.

@iSmack I beleive that's the blood witch armor in the last image, avaliable on the Nexus.

@jk_dad I know it's not really Vanilla but I couldn't think of a good word to describe a mod that *only* affects the vanilla and official Bethesda DLC content.
kiltedpiper 8 Aug, 2013 @ 4:45pm
@iSmack - I believe the armor in the last pic is Blood Witch by Zerofrost.
Kad Gaming 5 Aug, 2013 @ 1:48pm
You can't really call this a Vanilla Mod, because it tweaks non-Vanilla items.
Vess 5 Aug, 2013 @ 8:19am
What's the armor in the last image?
Souler 4 Aug, 2013 @ 10:52am
I'll ask, will it work with any modded weapons, or weapon range is exact for the weapon, not whole class?
Draugrborn 3 Aug, 2013 @ 11:12am
My game was crashing at launch with this version, even though I'd disabled the original (I upgraded to Dawnguard after finding the vanilla version of this mod).
