@Neider... You're welcome. Glad you got it sussed. As for keeping the wheels down, yeah, that can be a pain. My solution is to set up each axle slightly differently. If the truck pulls up at the front, increase the strength of the rear axle & perhaps reduce the height offset on the front, so the truck is naturally nose-diving slightly. If you also reduce the power setting for the rear axle/s, you'll reduce the wheelie effect. As you say, mass and centre of mass play a big part as well. You can make as much of a science of those as you care to - personally I work by trial & error, - add mass here, reduce it there, move the pivot a bit, change the moment. There are so many variables, terrain, gravity & Klang not being the least of them.

Thanks Sav! I appreciate the feedback, I fiddled a little bit more with those suspensions and got it working, only one thing I couldn't figure out yet, how do you make your truck don't look or stay nose up when transporting a heavy load? I still see my truck has problems keeping itself with all wheels on ground whether it's accelerating or decelerating, whereas yours stays stable like a charm, I could see you didn't touch the gyro too much, so I'm running out of ideas... Maybe is the center of mass? Suggestions?

Hi @Lander. Sorry I didn't see your comment for ages. I now have a new phone with more data, so will be able to check out your truck... once I've figured out how to work the phone that is. First to put tape over all the nasty little sensors though.

Yes the crew and cargo ground access Lifts are underneath the rear of the tractor, It can take any steep hills as it has 8x Atmospheric engines. It can also haul a great deal of cargo. No it is not better, just different. No offence was intended, my comment is a counter-joke for the advert in the description.

Thanks very much @Neider. Glad you're enjoying it! It sounds a bit like you may just need to play with the suspension settings on your trucks. Suspension in SE can sometimes be tricky to set up just right and can cause some odd behaviour like you describe. It takes a while to learn to use the different settings to good effect but persevere & you'll get there with it.
It's also possible you're seeing some new bugs / behaviour that I don't know about. I've been without internet since the Major Survival Overhaul & haven't received any game updates since then, so any changes / bugs from after that are unknown to me.

Amazing build indeed SAV, can you give a few tips on the building of the hitch? I'm trying to build my own truck with trailer, following your truck a little bit as inspiration since I've seen it works so well (Building something for my own needs), at first I've tried to use 2 large containers for the small grid truck, found out it would be too unstable to manage even while using DAS script, so I passed to small containers, once full, the truck just gives up doing overturns, can't take much turning when loaded, the trailer will keep going and drag the tractor itself, even when I set the X rotor for -90 / 90 degree, I'm sure when I downloaded your truck, it was allowing for a little bit more... Anyways, thanks for the share of your creation! It is indeed a great truck

This thing is freaking awesome! I dont really care about planets put plowing down a mountain side with this thing is incredibly fun!

I kinda wish it had the hydrogen engine though as a backupbackup since uranium is very difficult to find on planets

I know, right! This is why it takes me so long sometimes to come back to a series I started. There's the EMGC stuff, the modular space station that I haven't started publishing yet, the modular ground base, the articulated trucks, the small trailers, the MT series space transports, the SLV-3R story...
Every time I try to get back into something I get sidetracked & end up building something entirely new instead... which usually ends up becoming part of a series because so many ideas sprout from it!
It's like researching stuff on the internet. Start of at point A and wind up 3 hours later watching kitten videos!

Oh, I have no problem with breeding ideas. The problem lies more in finishing one project instead of starting 50 new ones ;) The camper brought me to road building, which brought me to a gas station (savtec hell ;) ) which has no fuel. So I built a fuel refinery for that thing and needed an ice miner and a big cargo truck which gave me ideas for a rover... turning around without even looking at the camper, yep, that's how things go :D

Hehe! Yeah, that's how it usually goes! I loose count of how many times I've said "Yep, I can build that", then I build it and I hate it, so end up with nothing to show!
I'm sure you'll get there with the thing. And if not... well it's a great idea & ideas breed more ideas, which can only be a good thing.

"change some blocks" - oh man... it's more like "keep some blocks". I had to rebuild the thing from scratch. One day I learn to shut my big mouth :D But the vanilla camper is on its way, as soon as my pesky doors work the way I want and stop flipping over the trailer...

@admmorketh... Yep, all my editing is done in MSPaint. I thought it was pretty terrible personally but thankyou for the compliment!
Used to have a copy of Paintshop Pro 5, which I was pretty hot with at one point but that was a long time ago & I no longer have an XP machine to run it on. I'm a bit rusty too.
I'd be able to get far better results with MSPaint if I had a desk & a roller-ball mouse. As it is I have a horrible laser mouse and my knee as a mouse mat!

Thanks for the suggestion. That's really useful. Had never heard of Paint Dot net before but will give it a look-see. It has to be better that what I have now - and for that price I can afford 2! :steamhappy:

Hehe! Well hopefully sooner or later you wont need mods for that stuff. Sounds like Keen are planning some decorative blocks down the line.

I went the opposite way to you... started modding my builds early on, then moved back to doing things the hard way!
After a few days the "mod withdrawal" was gone & I actually started to prefer the challenge of building in vanilla.
Strokes for folks though eh.

yeah, I "healed" my non-braking whore with ctrl-x + ctrl-v ... sometimes SE is behaving just weird.

I just have to change some blocks to make my camping twat purely vanilla and I already have some ideas how to do it from older builds. There was a time I wasn't that lazy ;) Should even use less space in vanilla as I always go over the top with interior and furniture mods. We'll see :)

I had those same problems with the Hydrogen version of this... right before I found out the original upload was borked. I found that deleting the cockpits & adding new ones solved the problem. No idea why that would be but it worked.
I do get a bit of input latency here & there but that's not just in SE - I put it down to my wireless keyboard picking up the odd bit of interference, That and the occasional stutter or drop in sim-speed for whatever reason. It's annoying at times but I can live with it.

I'll only add vanilla builds to the SAVTec Fleetyards collection but If you have other versions of this truck / trailer - or anything else that's designed to be used with it, I'll happily post links to them in the list of compatible builds.

Working on a duck now... oh, I didn't see the twat compatible builds. Have to upload my camping twat and my food truck :D Do you accept modded stuff? Because the food truck doesn't make a lot of sense without the daily needs mod...

I guess Keen played around with wheels once again, I had several trucks acting weird, like not responding to steering for a few seconds, not braking at all even uphills and stuff like that. Only new builds work as they should. Maybe the fault of the old world saves, too. But I love the complete solar system and there is no way I restart with a 3 planets-thingy called solar system. So I rarely know at once if that particular bp is broken, the conversion of the world to the new format messed up or one of my +-100 mods that I usually add interfers with the other stuff - or worse, a mix of all three possibilities. Most of the time the problem is on my side and Im rather not the one yelling "your stuff doesnt work" because I need a long time to really know... That's about that.

@Marco... So that first update really did break it for everyone then! Very sorry about that. I only wish I'd known sooner. Was pure chance that @InvolvedSpark mentioned it. I may never have found out it was broken otherwise.

Launching trucks into space sounds kind of fun. Maybe I should build a proper launching device for them... I have a 50-piston cannon that can accelerate objects beyond the hard speed limit! Hehe!

Not sure about that Goose-powered thing yet. The Goose is a bit buggy & sometimes refuses to paddle. He struggles on smooth surfaces too and sometimes flips over. Oh - and he keeps making strange honking sounds too, even when he's turned off. I think Keen broke him! :lunar2019grinningpig:

btw, most trucks act weird in space. I had one always converting to a station - with virtually nothing around it but space. My conclusion was: space is a giant voxel XD
One other took off as soon as I hit W, on a station with gravity 1.0, in an almost 45° angle while slowly yawing into endless saltos. Was funny to see and I launched like a dozen trucks into space until I realised I could use my ressources a bit better.

Good to see that my explorer-twat is back, I need that thing :) But when do you start building that goosepowered-truck of your ad (great work!)?

I agree - it does need to be faster. Wanted to split some of the longer lines into more frames & speed it up but editing in MSPaint is so damned painful. After about 6 hours I started loosing the will to live! Just couldn't bring myself to go through that again for another dozen frames!
Time I owned a real editing suite again I think!

You'll find the GIF posted there along with a link to the vid. Had me in stitches! Old spice made a whole series of them, all just as wacky.

@Alpha-5 the old BP was broken on the workshop (on steams end possibly?) as far as i knew there was a conversation in the comments between InvolvedSpark and Cptsavarus on the details of the issue. Also some clues can be found in this comment by cptsav. "Hmm... for some reason the re-upload has published it as a whole new workshop item instead of an update. That's usually a sign that something is broken, so hopefully the new one will work..."

Thanks @admmorketh! Yeah the white border was an undesirable throwback of certain stills not scaling to size properly. Have figured out how to eliminate it now, so you wont see ugly borders in future GIFS from me.
My first ever attempt at creating a GIF though, so hopefully it can be forgiven :steamhappy:

@Leo... Ah, I see. So you're a fiery one then! Hehe! Well you're not missing much if you don't remember Draconus. The box art was kind of cool and the monster was uniquely hiddeous but seem to remember the game being pretty dull. Just another side-scrolling platformer like so many others at the time.
I could work a dragon in there easily enough though. Probably a lion too.

@Wizard... By all means please feel free! I have some non-articulated versions of the tractor published if you're interested. So far there's a heavy armour combat version and a light armour cargo version.
If you decide to publish any new versions, send me a link so I can check them out. If they work well I'll add them to the collection & link you in the list of compatible builds. :steamhappy:

Damn though - makes me miss my old Lego. I had over 500Kg of the stuff. Sold it all about 20 years ago. Have often wished I didn't. Some of what I had is rare as hens teeth now!
I was thinking with some clever grafiti the logo could be turned into your username - maybe add the creature from the old Atari game Draconus perched on top of the letters or something.

To be honest, the Lego logo is something my dad puts on all my accounts ever since I was little. I haven't changed it because 1) Still don't have my personal logo and 2) I really don't have a problem with it. xD

@Wizard... Yes, it can but not as 1 single piece. The hitch uses a double rotor which can't be built as is - you have to build it in 2 pieces, then position the pieces & attach them. You'll need to paste the truck into a Creative mode world, split the hitch, then take separate blueprints of the tractor & trailer.
When you split the hitch, the rotors you want to detach are called "Hitch Tilt Rotor".
Make sure you have something in the world to hold the 2 pieces still when you detach the rotors in case Lord Klang decides he wants in on the action!
Let me know if you need clearer / more instructions.

@Leo... Ayup! This is going to be the staple for these trucks from now on. I must edit out that white though - and add a credit to it so people know it was your idea. Was thinking I might edit the Lego logo for your sig like I did with the Old Spice one. Be happy to send you a copy for your own use if that sounds good to you?
