yeah this mod definitely borks your game if used. and removing it destroys your save.

@TheyCallMeVincenzo Genesis is a total overhaul mod. That type of mod generally does not play nice with any other mods because they alter so much of the game. Unless explicitly mentioned otherwise, or if there's a compatibility patch, you can always safely assume that any mod you're looking at is *not* compatible with Genesis.

Mod hard codes your game FYI, download with caution as you can't uninstall without a re-down loading the game.

Finally! Only with this mod my Minions find their way to my new base building site location with just one move command. No more baby sitting, no more back and forth because the vanialla pathfinding seams to be stupid af!

Im finding i cant have characters path from The Hub to Hive Village, they just backtrack on the roads to the south of The Hub.

THIS MOD IS 2/10 trash. my character ran back and forth between "roads" for 30 seconds until he was slaughtered. GG NO RE.

I found a solution. I just had to uninstall the mods I recently uploaded. I suspect that one of them overlapped with this mod.

I have a problem.
When I installed your mod once, everything worked perfectly, but after a few exports (I changed the mod, etc.), the game totally forgot about the existence of this mod and no matter what I do, I can't bring it back to favor. Do you have any idea? Maybe some other cleaning mod or vanilla setttins?

No offense, but there is definitely a reason road preference was turned down, this mod considerably reduces efficiency, to the point where PC's prefer sticking to the road to being safe or saving a teammate. I won't downvote, but I'm unsubscribing.

Love the mod. love love love it. Any chance of releasing a minor update someday? One thing I noticed is that pathing in Brink between just about any two points takes PCs and NPCs into and then back out of the clothing shop. after hours this causes trespassing and unnecessary fights. Thanks!

@Ruthless Cardigan Try using Shift+F11, this will fix the broken meshes in your game, that's probably whats actually causing your issue, hitting invisible meshes.

what you say doesn't reflect my experience

worked fine at first, liked it
but I noticed at some point I was having to reroute animals almost constantly
especially in rough terrain
then animals began choosing routes separate from the rest of the group
maybe its just conflicting with how I do things...
don't know, don't care.

@Ruthless Cardigan. BTW, units getting stuck on nothing has got nothing to do with road preference, I'd argue it happens less with this mod because the characters stick more to the roads. The circle thing, though, has to do with the roads, it happens in vanilla too, but with this mod a few more circles are added.

@Ruthless Cardigan. Sorry to hear that. I'm 98% sure that any changes this mod makes wouldn't persist through deleting the mod and refreshing all the values for an import. But, for that 2% margin of error, here is an ironclad, simple fix: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1758903365 This mod just alters the value back to its default setting. Load it in and import. If it is true that changes to road preference value persist through the deleting of mods, you can delete this mod after you've imported one time.

broke pathing in my game import wont fix it

Sometimes it is nice, sometimes it is bad. In lot cases they take a very big detour when there is no street nearby where my marker is.

Thanks Jbra. It's only in the northern area where there are a whole bunch of road intersections. It might have something to do with the HN additional farms mod I have installed, who knows. I'll try importing again. Appreciate your swift and helpful reply.

@Forest Dad, uninstalling the mod should restore the vanilla setting - because there's no alternative setting for it to use anymore. If that wasn't the case, this mod wouldn't work at all, because the vanilla setting would sit there in your save with the modded setting then doing nothing. You can import your save, nothing makes it past that, the only downside is you lose any current prisoners. Outside of that there is no downsides to importing. Out of curiosity, which part of HN territory? I've been all through countless times and haven't found any weirdness. Most of the weirdness I've found is down in the south, just below the swamp.

Mate this mod broke the pathing in my game, especially in HN territory, to the point that I have to micromanage all long distance journeys. My dudes will often get stuck in really long, drawn out pathing loops that require me to baby sit them over open terrain for considerable distances. It's sucking the joy out of the game.

Worse, unsubbing and even verifying game integrity hasn't restored the original pathing. Any advice short of uninstalling and reinstalling the game from scratch? Or is it my save that's permanently wrecked?

I'm with Donkringel on this one, just unsubbed, my characters would be in town, I would click on the map just outside of town, they would start running there but shortly after leaving the town they just turn around and try and find a different path or something and end up looping half the time, I'd always have to manually make them walk over the invisible line causing them to turn around.

I need to unsubscribe on this, had a hell of a session just now. Two problems;

1) If your characters are in an area where roads aren't abundant, then pathfinding wigs out. Looks like it keeps trying to find the nearest road to follow, then resets to direct line, so sometimes they just circle.
2) For thief getaways, sometimes the roads aren't the best. I got the shit kicked out of me because the roundabout route I set up caused them to path to the nearest road, right into the Holy Nation Guards that were chasing me.

EyeXombie brings up a good point, making this toggleable would alleviate much of this.

Is there a way you could add a Follow roads option in the Ai tab? That way we can turn it off or on when wanted.

I love this. I'm at that point where I dont care the detours that are need to get from A - B. I've let people AFK run only for them to get trapped in a loop somewhere or stuck behind an invisible rock. This is a lifesaver

My actual run is kinda in war with the holy duchebags and my profiteable traderute goes just in middle of Okran's valley so I thend to not use the roads v:

I've noticed an issue where if two roads are close together the character gets stuck in a loop where it keeps alternating between the two and can't decide which road to take

I just uninstalled the mod after trying it for a few days. Wasn't for me, but I'm grateful that mods like this are out there trying new (or I guess in this case, old) things. Thank you for your efforts and I hope you continue modding. :lunar2019coolpig:

I like this mod alot, but I had to turn it off cause my people kept getting stuck or the pathfinding would go off.

@Smeea YMMV. Depends on your play style, personal taste, and the kinds of travel you're doing, and where. Keep in mind the game used to be like this, but then the devs lowered the levels, no doubt to fix the kind of counter-intuitive situations you've been encountering. That increased gameplay responsiveness at the cost of (to me, anyway) realism. Ironically, 'realism' is a subjective term, though :P.

Somehow the pathing feels bad with this mod, My Thief/trader/runner guy an awefull lot of detours even whem a shortcut is CLEARLY the better option.

@Bin-Hias Phuck, yeah there are a couple of those here and there. Checking out the road system when I was stuck in one it seems they are points where heaps of roads converge in a kind of unholy pentagram of hypnotic doom.
