You're welcome. And thanks again. This was definitely worth reporting & something I'll be certain to check for in furture builds before I publish.

Haven't yet had chance to check out that script but I will. I don't actually use scripts myself, since game updates have a tendancy to break them & then my things don't work. I'll probably get into them more when Keen have no more updates planned & I know I can trust them not to get broken!
Til then I'm putting together a list of all the most useful ones, so will add DAS to it & give it a trial run in the meantime.

Glad you're enjoying my builds anyhow. I have another green one on the way. Much larger but heaps of fun to drive! :lunar2019grinningpig:

@cpsavarus, Glad that i could help to make your creations better :)

I will make sure i give the temp fix a go when i start up the game!
Thanks for fixing it :)

Not sure if you did checkout DAS - Driver Assisting System script. It can be nice to add also, im sure are a fan of it.

Keep on going with your SAVTec releases i do like them, special when there solar/green powered :)

Ok @Kirito, I've found what was causing it.

I'll update the blueprint to fix it soon but for now I have a temporary fix for you...

>Open up the control panel for either truck and select the "view hidden" items option.
>Look for rotors. You should find 3.
>Find the rotor named "Trailer Hitch Yaw Rotor".
>Unlock this rotor.
>Set the max & min rotation values for the rotor to "Unlimited".

Do this for both trucks.

Now try attaching the trailers again.

The reason they were exploding was indeed something I got wrong. If you look carefully at the rotors you can see the rotation angles written on them. One truck has its rotor the opposite way around to the other.
Rotor parts it seems will remember their previous positions when they're re-attached, so because the directions are reversed, the trailers are trying to spin round 180 degrees!

Can't believe I didn't catch that before!

Well I suppose it's *possible* - I mean sometimes things do work for one person but not for the next - but it's also possible you've found something I missed or got wrong, so I *will* try to find out why it's not working and fix it. Can't have my workshop stuff not doing its job right!

I appreciate the report by the way. In my experience it can sometimes happen that there's a huge problem with something & just no-one reports it, so I will always investigate just in case!

Heading back into the game now, so will see if I can nail this thing while I'm in there!

@cpsavarus, then i might be unlucky. I made a new game with no mods on. Made a platform and copy/paste in the creations you made. (default there locked) I extend the piston and press the detach botton. I copy the yellow truch and copy the cargo trailer. When i hook it on its explote same goes with The green one and hydro trailer. But when i copy the yellow truck with Hydro trailer lose from eath other its fine.

I guess i need to build the trailer on the yellow truck and at a solar panel on it, because i like solar/green energy.

@Kirito... They should be able to swap just fine. I tested it in survival & had no problems. The truck bounced a bit but that was all.

Did you check that the rotors were all locked before you detached the trailers?
They need to be locked *before* you detach, as you can't lock them when there's no head on them. If they're unlocked when you connect the new trailer, things tend to explode.

Also, make sure the whole thing is on a flat surface - a platform is best

Is there a way to combine the SAVTec T422 with the trailer of SAVTec T-422 A.R.S.E? When i spawn both creations in and detach the trailer and swap them and attech them there go BOOM. I did try with merge blocks and pistons then i get Clang. Any way around that?

Ah, I see.
Yeah, I've read similar reports on the forum. There seems to be a bug that prevents Hydrogen Engines from drawing fuel. I'm guessing it came with the last hotfix, as I didn't see any reports of it before then.
I Haven't encountered it myself, as I've shelved Hydrogen Engines in my survival game for a moment until Keen fixes them. Hopefully it wont be long. There are enough people reporting issues with them to sink a battleship, so it's hard to imagine Keen don't know about all the problems.

Yes, I'm expecting B.U.T.T.P.L.U.G to be a thirsty creature too. Probably too thirsty for a single O2/H2 Generator. I figured with all those batteries & a solar panel, you'd probably only run the engines if you were in a real hurry for some power. If you set out with 4 full tanks & a full container of ice it should still be good for long enough to charge a rover battery once or twice before needing a refill.

@cptsavarus
Not to fill it up top, necessarily, but I have been running tests with the G.A.S.F.A.R.T, and even with a full o2/h2 gen, the hydrogen engine will not draw any supply from the ice stored in it even if it is the only thing running (i.e. batteries and solar off). It will run down to zero and stop, even with ice available.

As for the B.U.T.T.P.L.U.G, I'm looking at it in survival now myself. I have a feeling that it's going to be a monster to keep running :)
cptsavarus  [author] 10 Mar, 2019 @ 1:34pm
@Angel... Just use small conveyor blocks to connect them. Or did you mean to *fill* the engine?

Far as I can tell, a single O2/H2 Generator isn't enough to fill an engines' onboard tank but it's enough to keep it running.
To fill the tanks completely you either need to hook up to a Hydrogen Tank or have multiple O2/H2 Generators.

I'm still testing with Hydrogen Engines to see how many engines one O2/H2 Generator can support. It might be that the 4 engines on this trailer are too much for one Generator. Will be building it in my Survival game quite soon, so I guess I'll find out. If it doesn't work out so well I'll revise the design.

It'd help if the game could decide how much Hydrogen the engines actually consume. Every time I try to clock it I get different results!
SteelAngel 10 Mar, 2019 @ 11:56am
You figured out a way to get a small o2/h2 gen to feed into a hydrogen engine? Brilliant! How?
cptsavarus  [author] 9 Mar, 2019 @ 12:37pm
@Mat... Absolutely, yes! The concept can be made to work on any wheeled vehicle.
This particular trailer is probably a bit small for the T.W.A.T but there'd be nothing to stop you adding a hitch & towing it anyway - perhaps even behind the main trailer.
Since you mention it though, I'm already working on a larger dray for towing behind the S.N.A.T.C.H (the non-articulated version of the T.W.A.T). I'm trying to make it so it attaches to the truck by connector, so all the cargo containers will be linked.

I'm also working on a some trailers with their own 5th wheel hitches so you can create multi-trailer road trains! :lunar2019grinningpig:
mat1k 9 Mar, 2019 @ 11:20am
Couldn't this also be adapted to connect to a T.W.A.T?
cptsavarus  [author] 9 Mar, 2019 @ 9:26am
Normally they move down pretty quickly but since the update I've noticed things are staying in the top 8 for longer. I think the massive influx of new players is slowing the turnover - as though there's suddenly a lot of people who aren't seeing stuff unless it makes the slideshow. Kind of figures I guess, since a lot of the newcomers seem to also be very new to Steam.
You earned those spots fair & square though. I say enjoy them! :steamhappy:
OctoBooze 9 Mar, 2019 @ 9:13am
I've no idea how they keep getting there on the front page... Honestly wish at least the TBMs would get tossed aside already, plenty of other great builds trying for that top spot and I'd more than gladly give it to other prolific builders such as yourself! Keep on creating :)
cptsavarus  [author] 9 Mar, 2019 @ 8:53am
Thanks @Octo! Can't please all the people all the time I guess but glad I could give a laugh with this one. Sorry about the drink!
You have some pretty amazing builds yourself too. 4 on the front page at once! Very impressive stuff!
OctoBooze 9 Mar, 2019 @ 8:40am
"B.U.T.T.P.L.U.G works with A.S.S!" I love your builds but never liked the names but I must admit I got a hearty chuckle out of that one and spilled my drink. What have you done!
cptsavarus  [author] 9 Mar, 2019 @ 6:02am
Thanks @Buckethead! (Not THE Buckethead by any chance?!) This is one of my better acronyms for sure. Think I cracked a rib laughing when it first hit me! :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

Omg these names are brilliant
