Strange. I pasted it in to my world and it did not crash for me at least so not sure what to do to help.

(also wow, looking at this thing now it is so outdated. Maybe I should build a new one of these. Haven't used the rover+drone combo in a while)

this blueprint will crash your game not sure what causes the crash but its directly caused by this rover and drone combo being in the world

word of warning on the miners first hotbar key 7 "docking timer" i think its labeled...
you may want to adjust the connecter to "connect" instead of toggle or you can end up with a "dead" drone in your trailer totally disconnected. you can add a control panel between the drills just under the camera or on the rear bumper of the miner to manually turn the drone back on tho.

Love this truck and drone combo. Great for early, small scale solo mining. Any chance to get an updated version to take advantage of new features and updates?

haha awesome man! thanks for the help! I love the blueprint.

Can't make it auto dock unfortunately. Well, there may be some advanced mods that allow it but I never used any.

Easiest/fastest way to do things would be to park the truck with the rear facing your mining hole. Then when you go back to dock you first fly to and stop by the rear of the truck and face the connector so that you can see that you're aligned, then just turn around and back in onto the truck. Since the drone's reverse camera is mounted on the block above the connector you should aim for the same block on the truck above the connector, that way you will avoid any collissions. Hopefully.

I hope that helps.

Awesome thank you! I got it working. I'm kind of new to how this all works, but is it possible to make the ship autodock? Maneuvering into position everytime is pretty tedious. Maybe I am doing it wrong, but what is the most efficient way to make multiple mining runs, dock, unload, and repeat? In other words, can you walk me through the process of using the drone at maximum time efficiency?

the 6 button on the rover should be the drones remote control set to "control". Some times it has to be added manually when doing construction in survival.
I don't remember if the drone has a Timer Block assigned to the 6 button but I think it does. should be called TB - Dock or something, set it to trigger now (and make sure the TB have the connector set to lock/unlock, systems group on/off, and the batteris to recharge on/off). 5 button is most likely the reverse cam if I recall.

Hey there, great mod so far! I'm using it in survival and I cant figure out why the "6" key is unassigned on my rover. I cant take control of the drone from the rover unless I open the remote control settings. Can you help me trouble shoot?

Also, on the drone it's self, the 5 and 6 keys are unbound, how would I troubleshoot this aswell? Thank you

Yes it should. All you have to do is access the "Corner [LCD] Cargo" display on the rover, press the Custom Data button and change "Cargo M3" to "Cargo M1" and it will read all the cargo boxes marked with M1 in their name. Same thing with any other M drone.
Polanski 2 Aug, 2019 @ 6:16am
will this rover transport work with your M1 drone? like showing all the cargo stats?

@test

there is/was a movement on the forums to have this functionality changed, but it has not happened yet. Personally, i think it's very unintuitive.

Yes, i was using P as a park brake.

I'm at work currently but once I get home I'll try with 2. Thank you!

Love your mods so far, great job!
FunkyBacon  [author] 2 May, 2019 @ 12:24pm
That is weird. Are you using the "2" button to unlock the parking brake? If not I would guess you're using "P" which is a bit of a universal lock/unlock button which not only toggles the parking brake and landing gears but also toggles all connectors on the grid.

So, ive been trying this one out and im probably doing something wrong here, i havent played space engineers in a few years. ...

Once i dock the drone to the truck (connector is locked), i switch to the truck and as soon as i lift the parking brake to move on, the drone disconnects from the truck and the connector turns blue. If i drive forward the drone just falls off ...

Whats going on?
WoReK 21 Apr, 2019 @ 4:24pm
The Mining Dron is stacking on mining wgen using [PAM], rocks betwen on the top and in the buttom are blocking path of the miner. maybe 2 x more drills or difrent placment will helps it.

But great work when dron is going to dock the light and all great :) Nice job

Not released yet. Still doing some testing to make sure it works properly.

where is the dlc cocpit one i saw on discord
FunkyBacon  [author] 6 Apr, 2019 @ 6:13am
@OMGvert
I believe turning off steering for the rear wheels while driving can help with that issue. The turn radius gets a little wider but it should be safer.
Vert 6 Apr, 2019 @ 5:59am
Testing this out. Very nice design/concept. My only issue so far is that it tends to flip on it's back rather easily. That may just be me not used to it yet. Might just add a gyro or two. Other than that it's pretty freakin' sweet. =)

@tyger_plays
thank you! I would say it handles it fairly averagely? It does get really heavy when fully loaded but the thrusters help it go up steep hills or brake when going downhill. It won't handle those jagged bits that often form on the steeper hills but I don't think any small-grid rover does well with those.

If you have seen Splitsie's "Survival, Maybe... " series then that is pretty much the sort of terrain I have used it in for the most part, which is mostly a large canyon surrounded by mountains and hills.
-_Tyger_- 25 Mar, 2019 @ 10:35am
Great job! Thanks for sharing. How does the rover handle hilly or mountain terrain? Is it best for flatter areas?
Fast2pizza 22 Mar, 2019 @ 2:35am
wow, why haven't I considered doing that... drone+rover... anyways looks amazing, I would stuff some solar panels on everything, but that's just me :lunar2019piginablanket:

FunkyBacon  [author] 21 Mar, 2019 @ 4:00pm
@SuAet It was originally built in a survival world and have been used a lot in a "Survival Maybe" scenario. It doesn't do straight down mining or anything like that but should handle a decent tilt, tho what that is ofc varies from person to person. Personally I prefer to do horizontal mining so the tilt have never been an issue for me.
But if you feel its not enough then feel free to make modifications to it.
Galactus 21 Mar, 2019 @ 2:47pm
Was trying to make something like this recently with hover engine mod, was not turning out to well , this however looks awesome!
SuAet 21 Mar, 2019 @ 2:44pm
Hmm have you stress tested you miner...just by looking at it I suspect that it has not enough thrusters in the front considering all the downward thrusters. Besides that ...youv got a nice build. Thumbs up mate!
Captain Jack 21 Mar, 2019 @ 11:45am
This looks super cool!
TableruChan 21 Mar, 2019 @ 11:37am
Nice ! ^^
FunkyBacon  [author] 21 Mar, 2019 @ 11:22am
@Galadox114 yeah sorry I totally forgot about that but I have uploaded the drone blueprint to the workshop now.
CTH2004 21 Mar, 2019 @ 10:08am
To improve it, you should look at This

Note: THis comment is permision to use it.
TableruChan 21 Mar, 2019 @ 9:48am
These are two objects right? So the larger grid will only be projected if i would want to build that...
How can you get everything in the blueprint?
Heatwave 21 Mar, 2019 @ 8:51am
Looks great. Good work!
Grey Wolf 17 Mar, 2019 @ 5:40pm
Nice Work. Thank You for the Upload. Greetings :steamhappy:
