Description
Introducing a new version of my Rover Transport (not the most creative name I know) that has been edited to be completely vanilla but now also uses a few scripts to help keep track of cargo. Both the rover and drone have gotten a few updates and minor redesigns to make use of some of the new parts.

Drone blueprint for Projector construction:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1689286870

((yea it was suppose to say Rover Transport in the thumbnail but i made an error and for whatever reason trying to update the Blueprint just makes a new upload altogether so I dunno how to fix it. =/ ))

General stuff.
Crew/Players: 1
Role: Planetary Miner / Ore Transport.
power source: Batteries.
Terrain: Ground (rover) and Atmosphere (drone).
Controls: Cockpit (rover) and Remote (drone).
Grid Type: Small.
Weapons: 2 Gatling guns on the drone for minimum defense while on the job.

Info and tips:
* Both the rover and drone is battery powered and require a docking station to recharge.
* The rover have thrusters to help it move or stop when fully loaded.
* To help with repairs the rover have pistons to elevate the wheels off the ground and the drone comes equipped with a projector you can activate to easily repair any damage it may sustain while working.
* When empty it can be a bit light and may flip over if making sharp turns at high speeds, make sure to drive carefully and responsibly, and always wear your seat belt!
* Hitting 6 when in the rover will give you control of the drone if docked, that will then be the dock/undock button for the drone which will switch the connector lock and turn the systems on or off, so no need to activate the systems before undocking if using the timer block.

Strange. I pasted it in to my world and it did not crash for me at least so not sure what to do to help.

(also wow, looking at this thing now it is so outdated. Maybe I should build a new one of these. Haven't used the rover+drone combo in a while)

this blueprint will crash your game not sure what causes the crash but its directly caused by this rover and drone combo being in the world

word of warning on the miners first hotbar key 7 "docking timer" i think its labeled...
you may want to adjust the connecter to "connect" instead of toggle or you can end up with a "dead" drone in your trailer totally disconnected. you can add a control panel between the drills just under the camera or on the rear bumper of the miner to manually turn the drone back on tho.

Love this truck and drone combo. Great for early, small scale solo mining. Any chance to get an updated version to take advantage of new features and updates?

Can't make it auto dock unfortunately. Well, there may be some advanced mods that allow it but I never used any.

Easiest/fastest way to do things would be to park the truck with the rear facing your mining hole. Then when you go back to dock you first fly to and stop by the rear of the truck and face the connector so that you can see that you're aligned, then just turn around and back in onto the truck. Since the drone's reverse camera is mounted on the block above the connector you should aim for the same block on the truck above the connector, that way you will avoid any collissions. Hopefully.

I hope that helps.

Awesome thank you! I got it working. I'm kind of new to how this all works, but is it possible to make the ship autodock? Maneuvering into position everytime is pretty tedious. Maybe I am doing it wrong, but what is the most efficient way to make multiple mining runs, dock, unload, and repeat? In other words, can you walk me through the process of using the drone at maximum time efficiency?

the 6 button on the rover should be the drones remote control set to "control". Some times it has to be added manually when doing construction in survival.
I don't remember if the drone has a Timer Block assigned to the 6 button but I think it does. should be called TB - Dock or something, set it to trigger now (and make sure the TB have the connector set to lock/unlock, systems group on/off, and the batteris to recharge on/off). 5 button is most likely the reverse cam if I recall.

Hey there, great mod so far! I'm using it in survival and I cant figure out why the "6" key is unassigned on my rover. I cant take control of the drone from the rover unless I open the remote control settings. Can you help me trouble shoot?

Also, on the drone it's self, the 5 and 6 keys are unbound, how would I troubleshoot this aswell? Thank you

Yes it should. All you have to do is access the "Corner [LCD] Cargo" display on the rover, press the Custom Data button and change "Cargo M3" to "Cargo M1" and it will read all the cargo boxes marked with M1 in their name. Same thing with any other M drone.
