Doesn't work for me in offline survival mode

Good build, it works fine but after a while of digging it breaks. then i have to figure out what is going on to make it break. Even after i fix it, it still breaks but the second time i cant fix it

i can get the machine to work after spawning creative but when i go back to survival after a couple of rounds the drill head, it just drops off the base, its a shame because its a great design look and concept but i need something that can work in survival :steamsad:

If you are using any Mod that extends the working range of tools make sure to move the welders up and back one block or it will weld the connector and merge block under the drills! just took me way to long to figure out why it was stopping short every time...:steammocking:

The drill platform is missing even in creative. It doesn't get projected.

Great Idea, great design but unfortunately it does not work. It welds too slowly to make connectors and after just 2 of these it stops working because it disconnects and falls down.
It works on creative mode, but in survival it doesnt really cut it.

if your drill is coming apart still after changing the programming blocks. add a straight conveyor tube and a welder directly below the bottom connector and tube, make sure it is one block shorter than the reach of the other welders.

It fell off after I got away from it at a distance, when i came back later, it wasn't even that far down, and it was derailed... Why?

Drilling works for me, but after a while the drill head breaks off which causes the whole thing to stop working. Even in the safe mode described in the last picture this happens.

Has someone figured out how to fix it or maybe an updated version? I assume the new Automaton blocks might make it more reliable, since they might work without timers.

for anyone having any issues with the drill falling off after the first connector .

its an easy fix . just add projector on to timer 1 . and projector off to timer 3 .
you can also slow it down like the last image says .

without the projector on and off .. this would not work in survival .. it works perfect after this

Had to modify it hard for survival. change the merge block to a 2nd connector and made a new selfreplicating rail with a projector block on each part. now it seem to work, after 2 days "engineering" ^^

if you place it upside down you can basically make a space elevator.

i think i might have found a way to fix this for survival . i am currently testing it to see if the solution works

Update: i fixed it . it can now be used in survival , i managed to fix the drill part , but a something is still missing

youknow if it got trough the planet it will just build a space elevator on the other side of the planet (i didnt test it yet but i guess thats what would happen)

I found increasing the timers according to the description in the last screenshot and adding two batteries on the drill platform seemed to solve the stability issue. Currently experimenting with using lower values than the recommended 90 seconds.
Maybe this will help some people (especially the batteries!)

Same issue with welders, right after maybe the second time the piston has to move down the welders don't weld the new blocks past the drill Steel walls. It it just falls off and boom, no more drilling. :(

Tested it in survival and at first try it detaches after the pistons are extended the first time!

I Found out that it always seems to stop working at about 700 to 900 Meters deep because the drill detaches from the base the merge blocks stop working suddenly and it stops going further down even in creative and if the storeage is completly empty all time this happens also
this may be a shortage of power caused by all the connectors placed the build shoud automaticly remove the merge blocks and connectors once it goes further down to fix this it may be a diffrent issue but this seems most likely

I dont find any solution, maybe if the Timer was on the mobile part, it could maybe help, but I'm not even sure of that.

Copying mobile parts are really a mess on this game >< ...

Constructing it, even in creative mod, is really a pain in the ass ><.
So, we need to construct the timers in a certain order, but even when we respect the order, the program dont apply the settings.
Example : Building "Connector upper", then "Timer block 1", "Connector upper" is not shown in "Timer block 1"...

I have an issue, even with 0.9m, the 2 mains pistons dont fits :'( ... Any idea ?
EDIT you wrote "0.9" but you set 1.2m on your own structure :o ...
EDIT 2 : it seems the datas inside the projector are false, you should correct it by : 6 / 0 / -1
And dont forget to add to your tutorial to set the plan of all the facility inside the projector :p !

About your warning on survival; Do we have to build each piston in every stage or just for the initial setup?

I would like to set this up in creative, then go back to survival and just forget about it, is it possible?

just build a block from the top to the drill that you remove in survival after the projektor showed it

I love this rig, however as I use it in survival it needs tweaks.
1) it needs a gravel ejector, otherwise come back from a few hours in space and everything is clogged up. (Also add extra storage)
2) I have changed most of the floor from 1 battery to many, installed solar on the roof and added some hydrogen engines also, so dont need the reactor.
3) Added a second row of welders to the miner head, 1x BACK from the first (so stepped back) to catch the connectors being built.
4) To sort of not CHEAT, Built it first in survival, then switched to creative, deleted what i build, re build complete, went back to Survival. trust me. not worth the time to re do the timers if you build the mining head on your own, this way you spend what you need in goods, but save the tweaking time.

So, my welders aren't fast enough to assemble the connector fully, which (if I weren't sitting there hand-welding the connectors to finish them) would break my machine, if I wanted to slow the piston speeds for realistic weld speed, what should I set their velocity to, and what should I change on the timer blocks?
