Felt gr8 to stretch the legs a bit.. all good.. no problem coupling in the begining.. no prob stopping at Summit.. waiting for the challenging run downhill...All hail DYNAMICS!!! :steamhappy:

Cool, thanks Warren and welcome. :)

Quite tricky at the start controlling the downhill for the hook up. Took me a few goes to find a way to keep the speed under control (I actually kept the reverser pointing uphill and used small amounts of throttle to control the downhill "slide").
Nice run overall, many thanks RB. Cheers, Warren

It is a challenge, when I first started working on this route I tried all kinds of set ups until I found one that worked. Thanks for the feedback and for playing. :)

That was a tough yard maneuver at the start. I tried it initially with some forward throttle as I eased off the brake so that my speed would be under control by the time the brake pipe charged up again. The loco would not let me do that; the power didn't stay on. I finally solved it by released the train brake with the independent on. The kept the speed under control until I could apply the train brake again. I had to push through the brake a little just before coupling up to make sure I didn't come up short. What a challenge! Thanks for putting this together. Here's a screenshot of a nice meet you set up:

atleast they're empty hoppers. :)
Robbie 2 May, 2019 @ 5:55pm
I know it’s not easy but I will manage
RBJets  [author] 2 May, 2019 @ 5:34pm
Thanks Robbie, Just need to plan your breaking and stay under speed for some wiggle room.

Nice run up the hill a little bit hard to stop at the summit but getting down the grade will be a challenge this is were you really have to pay attention and use dynamic braking all the way down the hill safely can’t wait for return from Castle Gate part 2

Nope week after next.
Robbie 24 Apr, 2019 @ 1:23pm
Okay that’s good to know and I guessing that soldier summit will be next week
RBJets  [author] 24 Apr, 2019 @ 8:19am
LOL, dynamic brake is your friend, thanks Rammy.
Rammy 24 Apr, 2019 @ 8:04am
Great Scenario those Grades and the Brakes ,few that was a Challenge Even tho i've done it before it does'nt get any Easier, ran Past the signal at the summit because i could'nt stop in time.not looking forward to the run Down. Thanks RB.
RBJets  [author] 2 Apr, 2019 @ 8:33pm
Yes, brakes help to stop. :) LOL... Let the grade move you, don't throttle much at all, set dynamic and train brake, I even tried the handbrake on some wagons while testing to set what that would do.
Robbie 2 Apr, 2019 @ 7:25pm
Great scenario but I found that I had to use 6 hand brakes to stop that empty coal train from colliding with the back half of the train it’s really tricky to stop on a 2% grade and can’t wait for more

hi RBJets i finally figured why the game kept crashing some of the scenarios on the Steam workshop have been coverted to 64 bit and my video is optimized for 64 bit but runs 32 bit witch is strange and that's why the game crashes and that sucks:steamsad::steamfacepalm:
