hey my friend, half the windows on the hangar are the wrong way about ;)

sorry I had to leave your server, lots of bugs and network issues. I'll be back one day

Thank you all. Sorry about my very slow response on some of the comments. I will check out the modded versions. And again thanks all!

So been using these Waypoint buildings for my current playthrough and decided I'd share my modded versions of a few of these buildings. Currently working on a modified version of your Platform XL, mixing it with a portion of the Waypoint Station. (Coming soon :D) That being said, hope you don't mind my sharing them! I'd like to think I did a pretty fair job keeping it in your style of build with a nice blend of my own style.

Hello jrandall,
at first sorry for some bad English mistakes becourse I am from Germany.

Your Buildings are very very nice and I enjoy your Work and use the most of all your constructs for my Game. They make my Gameplay so much better and I want you to know that your Work is here in Germany my favorite . Great work and many good wishes from Germany

Thank you Lord Sapito, 6d722e74, and JoeDaddy. @Lord Sapito, I made the mistake of lowering the hangar floor 1/2 block to add visuals to the base. I loved how the floor looked but it caused to repair bay not to work so I spent many hours expanding the base so it could have the repair bay on level ground, but it just isn't big enough for larger creations. @JoeDaddy, if any of the support beams on the bottom side of the base are not touching the ground, it will have a collapse if you add any blocks etc to it. The spans on the ceiling are hitting the maximum they can (tested in survival for structural integrity). My best guess was something was not supported well and when adding a part, the ceiling gave away. I really don't know what I can do about it. :( Thanks again all.
JoeCamel 4 Jul, 2019 @ 10:21am
nice design, but I noticed that a lot of wood was used in the construction,,, I added three Solar Batteries and 1/2 of the ceiling fell in & I couldn't make repairs... I needed to scrap the whole thing.
6d722e74 30 May, 2019 @ 1:02pm
Awesome build! My only addition to this hangar was some benches, as I was always out of stamina running around inside. It's that big!
Lord Sapito 30 Apr, 2019 @ 4:47pm
Ok.. don't shoot the messenger.. I haven't tried this on your modified base but... if you have a long vessel, and the landing gears touchdown outside the new raised area (on the lower part of the floor), then the repair bay will see parts of the ship 'outside the repair area', because the landing gear will be below the *top of the repair block. I know it sinks, and with my own designs I resigned to having it completely flat. Might be ok on your new design, but that's how the repair bay works (it seems to be designed for perfectly flat and level floor so no part of the ship can go below it, and no part of the base can go above it. Essentially, it has to be flat to satisfy these two logic rules:

Repair bay area equal to or above the base's floor it's installed in.
+Repair bay area level with or below the lowest part of any ship.

Thanks Lord Sapito and bad coffee! I verified the issue and have spent a few hours altering this base to correct it. I badly wanted to keep the 1/2 block floor but I needed it level by the repair bay and a decent sized area. So, I hacked the base making it 6 blocks longer and redid that section of the hangar. I kept it at class size 5 and 7500 CPU at very close to the same price. I updated the stat screens and added a screen shot at the end of the post to show the difference. The hangar has a bit more room now + two more o2 tanks as well. Thanks again and I hope it works good for everyone again.
bad coffee 29 Apr, 2019 @ 3:49pm
Just tested this in creative. Spawned two hangars, unmodified hangar won't repair. A hanger with with the repair bay raised a block and the half blocks around it replaced with full blocks will repair.

Also @Lord Sapito. Most of the half block floor has nothing under it except support columns. And if the floor around the repair bay were rebuilt lower, if would probably need to be done in a large enough area that bigger vehicles could sit flat on the repair bay.
Lord Sapito 29 Apr, 2019 @ 2:55pm
Instead of raising the 1/2 floor, why not just eliminate it so the repair bay is flush with the next block level down. It would reduce the cost of the base as well; just a thought. Also, check the structural integrity, because removing one block (wedge) next to the repair station should *not* have made 1/2 of the base collapse at one end.. something is off.
jrandall  [author] 28 Apr, 2019 @ 5:35am
Thanks Lord Sapito and bad coffee! I have a feeling the issue comes from the floor sunk 1/2 block. I have an idea to fix it but the problem is I would have to raise the floor in the center area where the repair bay is. To not mess up the rest of the floor, I believe I would need to make that area a bit bigger which would also put this hangar at a class 6 as it is close to that already. So I am on the fence on what I should so. I didn't not want this a to be a class 6 especially after it was released as a class 5. It is a tricky issue. I will see if somehow I can make it work and keep it class 5 at about the same costs. Thanks for feedback!
bad coffee 27 Apr, 2019 @ 6:20pm
Haven't tried changing blocks yet, but I'm seeing the repair issue too. It repairs for a second, then stops with a "vehicle type not repairable" message or something like that. Shortly after it recognizes the vehicle again and when you try again, same thing happens.

My initial thought was the small generator wasn't making enough power, but hiding a large generator under a ramp didn't fix it.

The repair bay in WP Station works fine, so it's not a general repair bay bug.
Lord Sapito 25 Apr, 2019 @ 3:22pm
So I placed this down, everything touching the ground. I could not get the repair bay to repair blocked, and thought it might be that you used 1/2 tall blocks for the floor, effectively putting the 'base above the repair bay". I attempted to remove just 1 of the two sloped pieced against the rapair bay, and HALF of the base crumbled, i mean all the way down at the end, hanger door an all.. just for removing 1 block in the center of the base near the floor.. am I missing something?

Thanks bad coffee! Very cool screen shot. Thanks for sharing!
bad coffee 23 Apr, 2019 @ 10:25pm
This is very nice. Built it in my current game, underestimated the size and terrain slope so some landscaping was needed. Think I'll just put in a ramp or underground bunkers or something :D

This is a great size. I was needing a huge bay for my main base. I love this thing. Might add some furniture and make a home space too. Thanks for sharing

Thank you byronicalgamer! I will have to see this Hangar-Vault :)
BaronByronican 13 Apr, 2019 @ 12:04pm
I haven't tried this base out yet, but it looks awesome! I have tried your Waypoint Farm, and many of your vessels and loved them. In fact, you inspired me to create and publish my first base, the Hangar-Vault!

I was introduced to your items by my brother (Danthegamer88), the guy who upgraded your older Sanctum Installation base. Anyway, keep up the good work!

YES! Was waiting on this one, Jrandall. Going to start the factory up and get this going. :)
Thanks for cranking it out.

Thank you Archangel777, Bonedog, Grandpa's Gaming, sarge5186, and jasehannah7! @sarge5186, no this not PVP. I choose to use cheap materials to keep the cost down. It has a decent defense against PVE drone attacks etc, but is weak to PVP attacks. Using combat steel or armored concrete would have made it much more expensive and a much longer build time. Using console commands however it could be converted to hardened concrete pretty quickly. I believe that has the same HP's as combat steel. Thanks again all!
RSI 12 Apr, 2019 @ 3:28am
nice!
(A.S.S.) sarge5186 11 Apr, 2019 @ 10:15pm
is this with PVP in mind? like is it combat steal ?
