warning do not subscribe to this mod, it will cause your game to crash constantly at advent facilities. It will make missions uncompletable too, as it crashes at mission end as well.
mayrenise123 15. dec. 2024 kl. 2:27
oh nvm
mayrenise123 15. dec. 2024 kl. 2:27
yeah. is there a low graphic version?
SGAMEZ 18. dec. 2023 kl. 9:00
Some issue with this and garbage collection.
Any chance the mod can get a 2024 fix ?
CabooseDaReaper 6. apr. 2023 kl. 19:19
Is there perhaps a version of the mod with just the graphical glow effect of the fences?
Inardesco 8. feb. 2023 kl. 9:49
Not too sure if someone said this already but, this mod causes mission endings to crash when it regards to advent facilities tied to the avatar project.
8feet 28. juni 2022 kl. 21:04
There should be a hacker ability/class that let's you disable the sensors for a single turn.
That should mix things up a bit :3
Stolas Suzie 3. okt. 2021 kl. 15:05
I remember first time I did Black Site I thought all the fences were motion sensors...
RustyDios 15. aug. 2021 kl. 14:04
This is because for game purposes of this mod each fence has now been 'repurposed' into a window .. so it shows you the "jumping through a window smashing glass" scene
Vortex ♀ Pixalation 15. aug. 2021 kl. 11:40
the vanilla game actually occasionally did that
Larsen 15. aug. 2021 kl. 11:07
good idea, but each time i past a sensor fence i get a little cutscreen(like when you jump through a window), and thats a pain in the bum.
steven777 6. juli 2021 kl. 5:18
Genius mod.
NotMyRealAlias 30. maj 2021 kl. 12:15
I hope this is okay to post here instead of on "What Mods Do People Want", as I figured this was the most logical place to put it. Apologies if I'm wrong. Just let me know and I'll delete/move it.

I was wondering if you or anyone else might be interested in making the sensors a hackable object. Maybe at some sort of control box in a checkpoint or something like that, with the options of "Temporary Shutdown" and "Redirection" or just a "Fence Crash" as the hacking options. In my mind I see Redirect causing ADVENT to be alerted but move away from XCOM troops and not break concealment... unless the hack fails of course.

Possible or not, thanks for reading.
Premierbebop 20. mar. 2021 kl. 1:09
@N/A Ok thanks, after taking a look at one of the crash logs the game always crashes on the garbage collection when it tries to clean up the fences but only if an explosion or something like a Sectopod destroyed one of them. (From my experience with the crash.)
N/A 20. mar. 2021 kl. 0:00
@Premierbebop apparently it's caused by a garbage collection issue. if you save and load it will clear it but otherwise it is guaranteed. had it on every facility mission so far and just had it on a guerrilla op.
Premierbebop 8. feb. 2021 kl. 23:44
Hi just wondering If anyone has found a way to fix the end mission garbage collection CTD bug, whitelisting it in my anti-virus did not work and neither did cleaning my config. I can live without it, it's just nice to have. Thanks!
DeyhdratedWater_ 9. jan. 2021 kl. 9:50
Well written flavour text, fits right with the theme of the game, 10/10
Auditor175 11. nov. 2020 kl. 7:26
@Tweevle can you fix this great mod please?
=[NK]= Col. Jack O'Neil 10. okt. 2020 kl. 7:21
I've never had a crash with this mod :)
somekindofpast 9. okt. 2020 kl. 13:52
So, any plans to fix the crashing? I would love to use this mod! It would be a great addition, but I don't want to screw up my campaign. :(
RedDobe 27. juli 2020 kl. 19:50
@Just wanted to report back that adding to the anti virus whitelist did not fix the crash for me.
RedDobe 26. juli 2020 kl. 18:43
@KEEP CALM - Interesting, I have done the same and will let you know if it solves the problem.
Grimjack Hex 30. juni 2020 kl. 17:56
i love this mod. it adds an additional challenge to the game. but.. i'd like to turn off the extra brightness. i have a low end machine and missions with fences cut into frame rates.
The Sentinel68 7. juni 2020 kl. 3:39
Resolution for "my game crashes after a mission with the "garbage collection". I withelisted Xcom2.exe, CrashDumpPermission.exe, CrashDumpWatcher.exe (...Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2\XCom2-WarOfTheChosen\Binaries\Win64) in my anti-virus software. I got no more crashes after that. Before this change the game was crashing after every rescue mission.
=[NK]= Col. Jack O'Neil 29. maj 2020 kl. 19:41
I love this mod :)
It's like jumping through and breaking a window, anyone will unstealth
MrCloista 29. maj 2020 kl. 18:16
Just out of curiosity, does this mod make them function like the sensor towers (and does the Reaper's Infiltrate ability make them able to walk through them as normal)?
Cypher10 6. maj 2020 kl. 11:24
I can confirm with others that my game crashes after a mission with the "garbage collection" stated in the logs.
RustyDios 12. apr. 2020 kl. 13:30
I seem to be getting the crashing issue too... the issue happens if a sensor fence is destroyed by an environmental/explosive blast, the game crashes on evac/evac all. The log shows a lot of failures to do with 'garbage collection' ... and the mission fails to end/load back into the skyranger.

I've struggled with this issue for a while trying to track down the source, initially thought it was to do with Evac All and SPARKS.... ... The mission is normally fine after a reload.

The mod is great, been using it since day one ... and it only came to light it -might- be this mod causing the issue because several streamers I watch have experienced the same thing, and one of the common denominators between the modpacks is this mod. The issue is repeatable and does not happen if this mod is removed.

Reporting that it doesn't crash as I used a reapers claymore and evacced.. Clean you mod files up people
ModusPwnens 19. mar. 2020 kl. 13:12
Reporting that this mod does indeed crash upon evac if you destroyed a sensor fence with a Reaper's claymore in order to proceed through undetected.

Tested on Legendary/Ironman while rescuing Mox.

Client throws a number of garbage collection errors into the log and CTDs while loading the Skyranger. Disabling the mod and reloading the same save, using the same moves allows the mission to end and move back to the strategy layer without incident.
Vortex ♀ Pixalation 8. mar. 2020 kl. 16:27
I think that's the point
SomeOne [RB] 8. mar. 2020 kl. 8:59
The idea of this mod is great, but when I've subscribed for it, the very first evacuation mission has no entrance, only corner-towers and Sensor Fences. That ruined everything, I just couldn't make a step into the zone without alarm.
Geandily 19. dec. 2019 kl. 15:47
LOL I thought they did this in vanilla and had been avoiding them @_@
Panos Sigma 25. nov. 2019 kl. 12:35
The idea behind this mod is great and it's very lore friendly. However I think it has compatibility issues with missions which have an EVAC zone or with the EVAC All mod. I've noticed that when I complete a mission which ends with an EVAC, the game (sometimes) freezes at the next loading screen (Skyranger scene with your overall stats from the battle).
Jaonsdheurason 3. nov. 2019 kl. 13:13
@Arkanix I just had this same issue, however it was not my first rescue... It was the first time I had destroyed a sensor fence on a mission though...
RedDobe 16. sep. 2019 kl. 8:03
@Tweevle - I had an idea for this mod. If you can set a mapwide alert for sound at the location the sensor fence was crossed, this mod would alert units to that location. It would really work well with yellow alert gameplay.
Arkanix 7. aug. 2019 kl. 6:59
I had to remove the mod. He made me crash during the loading screen after a rescue mission (first mission where I met barriers, I think). I use WOTC
ImLinkn 2. aug. 2019 kl. 18:13
@Rob, don't give Tweevle that idea... The game's hard enough now as it is... I couldn't imagine failing a mission because a bird caused me to be revealed. Moreover, civilians :cozycastondeath:
Vortex ♀ Pixalation 2. aug. 2019 kl. 4:33
Birds aren't units, have no gamestate or data associate with them, how in the world could they possibly set it off, they are particle FX
Rob 2. aug. 2019 kl. 4:09
But what if a bird fly through them? I think where was a motive behind the fact that they're not used in that way
AftDifference59 31. juli 2019 kl. 18:09
This is superbly implemented. I run an ungodly amount of mods (307 to be exact) and any time I install a new one, I fire up for the requisite bughunt. Not the case here. Excellent anti-cheese mechanic that sould have been part of the base. looking forward to future offerings. :)
Kylandor 31. juli 2019 kl. 15:00
Yeah i was disappointed Advent's fences didn't detect you when you vaulted through them. But this makes the XCOM 2 Masochistic tendencies in me go "YESSSSS!"

Thanks for this mod!
Willy "Big John" Helldiver 31. juli 2019 kl. 0:03
Having enemies bump into the fences when killed is just extra. Small, but nice feature :D
Stoned Widow On Doom 21. juli 2019 kl. 1:57
Watching the intro when I played the game the first time, I thought that is how the fences work.
So I sneaked around them for a couple of missions. ^^
Tempting to try the mod. But now I'm used to the poor ADVENT defence system. xD
Lebowskichild 14. juli 2019 kl. 6:31
Is there a reason I don't have an XComGame.ini file as I would assume the DLCIdentifier is required?
lordhaw 13. juli 2019 kl. 11:38
Had a mission using this mod for the Mox mission. Front gate open but guarded by turrets. No one but my Reaper Dragunova could get by them. Went around side and held Dragunova and one soldier outside the fence while by rescuer broke cover by going through the fence. He got in and did the rescue and made it to evac. My other soldier broke cover and evac'd too. But the Reaper was still hidden with two dropships of troops, plus guards. They were running around like mad while I took the hidden Reaper to the front gate and through the prison dodging turrets and troopers. She got to evac safely without being discovered till she was waving so long suckers as she's being drawn into the sky Ranger. Best rescue mission ever all due to this mod!
Doc Croc 8. juli 2019 kl. 10:30
watching the original Xcom 2 intro you'd think that's how they naitively worked, especially since they are literally a perimeter what point is having a holo-fence on top of a real fence anyways if it doesn't alert you when the holo-fence is breached
Insufferable Smartypants 6. juli 2019 kl. 20:58
Such a good idea!
Kakroom 4. juli 2019 kl. 14:52
Actual honest-to-goddamn surveillance technology on overstuffed military bases in a game textually about the incendiary behaviors of an overzealous police state? What strange hell-dimension have we entered?
Elster 26. juni 2019 kl. 11:26
Had an amazing soldier rescue mission with this mod enabled. Two soldiers in spider suits and a reaper went to go rescue their captured buddy, but with the sensor fences all around, couldn't find a clear entrance in. The soldiers had to grapple onto a sentry tower to get over them while the reaper stayed behind to spot enemies. Not only did they manage to get him out, but ADVENT didn't have any idea they were there until the moment they called down evac and made a clean getaway. Definitely harder than a normal rescue op, but if you know how to prepare it's not so bad.
