Matteo Carati 7 Mar, 2022 @ 5:51am
is the reshade functional?
gamer gamer gamer 28 Oct, 2021 @ 5:40am
there's a nice fix to this on pascal glitcher's (martymcfly dude) (the dude who made rtgi) discord server
gamer gamer gamer 28 Oct, 2021 @ 5:39am
they block the depth buffer in multiplayer so the only things that work are bloom and stuff
gamer gamer gamer 28 Oct, 2021 @ 5:39am
technically reshade doesn't allow multiplayer
it can be abused with certain shaders
like nvg or flashlight
or better, arcane bloom

Doesn't seem to be working. Getting blocked by BattleEye in the first place. I've done the following steps:

1. Get the .ini file from GD,
2. Place it in the INS directory.
3. Get Reshade and launch it. I downloaded all the shaders that were checked by default.
4. Launch game and join a server. Get blocked by BattleEye.

This is when I have the Reshade app open. When I close it I can join any server as usual. Also the existing shader preset sets everything very dark.

Whats the character skin you were using in the 6th pic?
SolidSpaceDisk 8 Dec, 2019 @ 10:45pm
is there any reason to not install reshade dx 10+ version?
SolidSpaceDisk 8 Dec, 2019 @ 10:44pm
btw battleeye doesn't block reshade 4.2.1
Hvwkins  [author] 22 Nov, 2019 @ 4:17pm
@LosT^ConTroL @「ò...ó」Excel Saputra At this point, I have no idea. The preset works for sure, it's just that ReShade itself has a problem. My issue mostly went away by renaming the d3d9.dll file to dxgi.dll, but apparently that doesn't work for lots of people, maybe even most people. The bin folder solution posted earlier in the comments actually made it worse for me. I guess thanks to this game using BattlEye, it's either a hit or miss.
GYPSI_KING69 16 Nov, 2019 @ 10:44pm
Is that reshade still working or broken??
LosT^ConTroL 15 Nov, 2019 @ 8:25am
please help no working !
Hvwkins  [author] 3 Sep, 2019 @ 2:57pm
@ok It should be the very first section of the ini file. Make sure you're not opening another one. If for some reason it is missing, then you could probably enter this in yourself and send it:

[INPUT]
InputProcessing=2
KeyScreenshot=44,0,0,0
KeyReload=0,0,0,0
KeyEffects=46,0,0,0
KeyMenu=36,0,0,0

This specific one has the menu button set to Home and the toggle button set to Delete.
goober 1 Sep, 2019 @ 10:28am
I can't seem to find this input section in the reshade.ini, could you provide a screenshot or other instructions? Thanks in advance.
MMMMMMMMMMM 26 Aug, 2019 @ 1:04pm
Great thanks for your fast reply
Hvwkins  [author] 25 Aug, 2019 @ 3:20pm
@H U N K Like lu2id said, the directory is the folder where your Insurgency game files are.

@lu2id In the reshade.ini file, there's a section at the top called "input". There you can change the key used to take screenshots, reload reshade, toggle effects, and open the menu (in that order). Just find the number code for the key you want and plug it in for the first number. Use this website for the number:
https://keycode.info/
I use the Home key for the menu, so mine looks like "KeyMenu=36,0,0,0".
MMMMMMMMMMM 25 Aug, 2019 @ 11:18am
@Hunk literally just paste it in your insurgency folder so:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\insurgency2

Also, you might wanna put d3d9.dll and d3d9.ini into the "bin" folder if it does not work right away
MMMMMMMMMMM 25 Aug, 2019 @ 11:15am
Whenever i press shift+f2 ingame it just opens demoui. I tried unbinding f2, which did not work. Unfortunately, i dont know how to unbind key combinations. Is there any way around this?
H u n k 25 Aug, 2019 @ 7:31am
can you be more specific with the instructions pls? what is meant with 'dircetory'?
leemønguy 21 Aug, 2019 @ 3:02am
@Hvwkins Thanks!

I mean the one that changes the position of the hands
Hvwkins  [author] 20 Aug, 2019 @ 10:44am
@DST | L3møn Guy To take the pictures shown? There wasn't any mod. What I did was set up a bot match and remove them. "ins_bot_quota 0" should do the trick. Then, I joined the spectator team and used the command "cl_drawhud 0" to turn the hud off. For the first person picture, I only turned the hud off.
leemønguy 17 Aug, 2019 @ 4:12am
btw what is the viewmodel mod you are using?
Hvwkins  [author] 16 Aug, 2019 @ 11:22pm
@Myers I've tried giving advice based on what I know, so the rudeness wasn't needed. ReShade 4.0 worked perfectly with no moving of d3d9.dll for over a month before now not working. Obviously I'm not an expert.
leemønguy 12 Aug, 2019 @ 12:48am
In the original website, there is an updated version, its version is 4.3.0 but not 3.0
blobby 11 Aug, 2019 @ 7:28am
Since the mod author is borderline useless in explaining how to get reshade to work with this preset here is an actual guide.

- Download Reshade 3.0 from author website: https://reshade.me/
- Run exe
- Choose game exe >>> steam\steamapps\common\insurgency2\insurgency.exe
- Select Directx 8/9
- It will ask do you want to download standard effects? click "YES"
- wait for it to download

If won't work for first time, so CONTINUE TO READ BELOW:
- put d3d9.dll and d3d9.ini to steam\steamapps\common\insurgency2\bin (cut both files to the bin folder, don't copy)

Run the game first time, it MUST show you the top gray bar with text telling you the ReShade is running, otherwise it's not working (FIRST PICTURE)

Press SHIFT + F2 to open menu, read through the Tutorial, after that Create a preset of yours by clicking the "+" button, name it whatever you want and then start enable/disable list of effects to your desire :D (the presets will store in /bin folder)
leemønguy 22 Jul, 2019 @ 5:08am
And btw I tried changing names of the dll's, yet still nothing works
leemønguy 21 Jul, 2019 @ 4:44am
Hey can you tell how did you do the installation step by step? If you want for sure
Hvwkins  [author] 20 Jul, 2019 @ 3:57pm
@DST | L3møn Guy Make sure you don't have both present. If the one in your directory is d3d9, then rename it to dxgi. If that still doesn't work, rename it to d3d11. Beyond that, I'm not sure what the issue would be other than redoing the ReShade installation.
leemønguy 17 Jul, 2019 @ 3:07am
@Hvwkins I'm seeing dxgi.dll and d3d9.dll, there is already d3d9.dll but still doesnt work :/
leemønguy 17 Jul, 2019 @ 3:05am
@Hvwkins Thanks for the answer I will let you know if it works
Hvwkins  [author] 15 Jul, 2019 @ 6:17pm
I always seem to forget to check the comments on this mod. Sorry about that.

@JG It must be an issue with the dxgi/d3d9.dll. It could have either name. What you should try doing is renaming it to the other in your directory. If you have dxgi.dll, rename it to d3d9.dll and vice versa.

@DST | L3møn Guy You should give the same method for JG a try and see if it fixes anything. BattlEye is notoriously bad and no game should ever use it, so I've begun getting issue too, though mine are having BattlEye block some files.
leemønguy 5 Jul, 2019 @ 6:40am
Well, I tried while the antivirus closed, but nope. Still nothing works. Also I can see the dxgi.dll in the game files so it is not removed or something, I'm trying to download reshade, choosing rendering api, downloading the effects, everything seems fine but I cant just see the overlay at the start. I'm pressing shift+f2 but nothing happens still. Help, I still cant get it to work
Ch1k3nBo1 20 Jun, 2019 @ 4:29pm
hi, so i've moved the ini into my directory 'i think' and selected 64bit insurgency when i ran the exe. It's still not showing up and i can't get shift 2 to open anything. Also tried looking at some tutorials but there's like 2 XD. Help???
Hvwkins  [author] 14 Jun, 2019 @ 9:16am
@Глэд Вэлэскас There are a lot of tutorials online for reshade which explain it better than I can, and the steps listed are everything you need for my specific preset. What part dont you understand?
GHOST 11 Jun, 2019 @ 2:55am
Hey,can you make tutorial about installing this mod,i dont understand how installing this
Hvwkins  [author] 9 Jun, 2019 @ 10:14am
@DST | L3møn Guy Hi, have you checked your antivirus? Reshade is completely safe to use, but antivirus likes to delete the dxgi.dll file in the directory for some reason. You should give that a check and let me know.
leemønguy 8 Jun, 2019 @ 11:37am
Help, i tried every single rendering api (with uninstalling reshade while downloading with another api), i tried to download reshade with both exe files (i have 64 bit windows but still didnt work with insurgency x64.exe). Seems like I cant get it to work, whatever i do i just cant get reshade to work, i cant see the reshade overlay, welp pls :c
Hvwkins  [author] 31 May, 2019 @ 11:51am
@Jaeger Here's a nice tutorial that shows the process of installing Reshade. Make sure when you're selecting the .exe to choose Insurgency x64 if you're on 64-bit Windows. To get this mod working after installing Reshade, just drop my .ini file where Reshade was installed (your main directory where insurgency.exe and the bin folder are).

Cool mod, can you make tutorial how to install this mod?
Hvwkins  [author] 27 May, 2019 @ 1:40pm
Description has been updated with the Google Drive link! Steam decided to revert the description version...
Hvwkins  [author] 17 May, 2019 @ 2:38pm
@Каrрт Hm, I usually don't have issues with battleye, but you might be able to get past it by renaming dxgi.dll to something like d3d9 or d3d11.dll. I would hope there's a guide somewhere cause battleye really can be annoying.
Karpp 17 May, 2019 @ 9:55am
How do you get past battleye? I haven't been able to use reshade since it was introduced because be blocks it
Hvwkins  [author] 15 May, 2019 @ 6:14am
@🎄Hodor🎄 Thanks for checking it out. To do something like that, I'd definitely need to get more skilled in modifying Insurgency game files and figure out if it would work.
