Sorry! I posted this request on the wrong mod. I meant to post it on your new "Homeless" mod. Is it possible to do it for the Homeless mod?

This mod is meant for build 40, I don't have any plans for updating it.

Sadly, when you're homeless, you have to layer up and a backpack is vital. Lord knows I've seen my fair share of ... well, probably know. =(

Do you suppose you could edit the mod to allow us to spawn with fingerless gloves in our inventory, unlock the farmer's jean overalls, and perhaps a backpack? (Idea comes from starting as a farmer and burglar, as they are able to choose profession specific clothing and even a backpack if burglar, and gloves as burglar)

I know you can choose a "starter pack" in sandbox mode, but I prefer to play modded challenges instead so I rarely ever see sandbox settings haha.

If you don't mind too much, I'm very new to coding but I think I know how to at least add the gloves to inventory on spawn. While I won't be uploading it, I'd be more than happy to fiddle around and see if I can make it work.

yep, just was trying to use it on 41 and that was the one error that came up so when i figured out how to fix it i thought i would let you know (or anyone else in the same boat) what i did and all that. alter it if you like, or dont. either way no worries, just trying to put the info there and help how i can :)

Yes, the item Id changed in build 41, but the mod is meant for build 40.

the ISMoveableDefinitions.lua file in this mod edits the line

->moveableDefinitions.addToolDefinition( "Wrench", "Base.Wrench"}, <-

from Base.Wrench to being Base.Spanner and makes removing sinks, toilets, showers, etc not function. it makes the game ask for a spanner so wrenches wont work as the needed tool. other than that everything seems to work so far.

hope giving the specific error problem helps fix it for other people. :)

The framework you use is too old. I have downloaded the latest version. I don't want to open two of the same things. I think it will cause conflict. I hope you can use the new framework!

Probably not the place, but a few mods are surprisingly still functional. E.g. the spray paint mod, which somehow still works despite not being updated in 4 years.

But yeah, take your time and release a polished build of the mod.

No problem man, I understand you guys want to play build 41 with mods, but the build changes a whole lot of stuff, most mods will not be compatible. I'm working on a separate version for my Extra Skills System but I can't say how long it will take.

Yeah. Lately I've been testing mods in my subscriptions to see if they work or not in b41, especially ones I can't find a concrete or clear answer to in regards to b41 functionality. Apologies if I gave off the wrong impression.

Technically, this doesn't work in b41 per se. It depends on Extra Skills System, which at the moment is causing a bug that prevents you from seeing your skills in-game.

Yes, I wanted to take that into consideration. As areas get depleted I wanted to consider player activity in the area to replenish them, but for now it is basically a copy of the foraging code.

As the city is, For lack of a better word, Dead. Wouldn't it make sense that certain items wouldn't respawn as no one is litering?

It includes any area marked as town zone or trailer park by the developers. There isn't much I can do beyond removing trailer parks, and I don't think I should do that. In case scavenging proves to be too effective my pan is to lower the chances of finding items.

The mod claims to add scavenging in cities, but it seems to affect suburban areas, too. Is there a way to make it more specific so it doesn't include unintended areas?

Also It looks like it will work on an already in progress game, I started a game with out this mod then added this mod and Extra Skill System back into the game as I am using your blacksmith mod, and the skill did appear for me and let me find items in the city, so it should be ok to add mid-play-thru, but if you were using the mod before the last update I am not sure and may want to start a new map, but I have no way to test this to see if there are any errors.

Thanks! That seemed to fix it soulfilcher! I can now see the skill in the survivalist tab, I will have to do more tests as I have 30+ mods, but this update seemed to fix it! I will also just try these mods only as well before I report a bug if I find one.

I made a change to how the other mods are required, please let me know if that fixed the problem using a new character. You still need the same mods, but now Scavenging Time only requires Extra Skills System, and Extra Skills System requires Profession Framework.

Chipping in on the errors with my 0 knowledge of modding.

Things that work:
Can right click > Scavenge
Can find the skill books
The homeless profession shows up, as does the trait that reduces exhaustion when scavenging

No Work:
Scavenging doesn't find anything, other than 709 errors
The scavenging skill doesn't show up, tested multiple times with this, Extra Skills, and Profession framework in different load orders.
The trait doesn't lower exhaustion, texted with both a homeless and a non-homeless, selecting the scavenge option puts you right up to maximum exertion every time.

You can use the translation "Поиск мусора/Городское собирательство" instead of "Спит".

You probably got the same bug the other guy is reporting, but if you can please post the error message from the console. As for the translation I used Google translator, if you suggest a better translation I will replace it.

The mod gives an error when trying to search for garbage. Also the name of the profession is incorrectly translated into Russian.

OK thanks, but soulfilcher when I look at this mod in my mod select menu in game it only shows that this mod needs the mod ProfessionFramework to work, I could just enable this mod and not ExtraSkillsSystem only ProfessionFramework, is autoselected and you have to select ExtraSkillsSystem manually so this is most likly the reason it does not seem to read that it needs ExtraSkillsSystem to work, as I know its listed in the mod id file and on the steam workshop page as required but for some reason in the mod manger in my game it thinks the mod ExtraSkillsSystem is not needed for some reason, I think this is why its not working and giving an error when I try to Scavenge even if I have ExtraSkillsSystem enabled, but I could be wrong as I only now how to make simple changes to mods and could not make mods as advanced as you can, thanks again for trying to figure it out!:steamhappy:

I don't know if other players experienced this bug but it would be good to find why it happens so I can fix it. I know that somehow your character doesn't get the initial variables that make it work, so I will keep making tests in that direction.

I tested a few new games with different load orders of just the three mods, its almost like the game cannot "see" the ExtraSkillsSystem as its not listed in the menu as required I noticed 21 other people are using this mod, and I am the only one reporting this glitch so it may just be me, thanks for your time and help soulfilcher!

I checked you mod.info file both mods are listed as needed but in the mod select menu in game it only shows that it needs ProfessionFramework but ExtraSkillsSystem it not listed or auto selected when I just click this mod with no other mods enable and even if you turn on ExtraSkillsSystem it like it does not detect it in game.

That did not work only other thing I can see is on your mod in the select menu it only says it needs ProfessionFramework the other mod is not listed and does not auto enable when I have all mods disabled.

You said you have the ExtraSkillSystem as last in load order? Is that Right? Can you test Scavenging as the last one and the system as first?

Ok I did not see it also I know its not there as I did not see the three points thanks for checking I usally check new mods on a new wold just in case I orginally had all my mods enabled together but disabled them, deleted the file and tried starting fresh worlds with just these three mods just to see if I had a conflict.

I am testing the exact same version you are using. The skill should be in the Survivalist category, and if you choose the Homeless profession it will be leveled to 3. But from your log it seems the mod failed to give your character the new skill, I have to find why exactly that happened to you.

No I cannot see it is it called Scavenging under the new misc that I also do not see in the skill tab, I am using english, also I only used these three mods at a new game just wondering could your personal file be ok but the uploaded one did not upload to the workshop right?

That is a weird error, it seems the skill system failed to initiate the new skill for your character and thus can't find your Scavenging skill level. Can you see the new skill in the skill list? What language are you using in game?
