If it is ok with you, I'd like to use those in a mod to make custom missiles(I'll give you credit).
That'd be cool because it would sort of add to the scrappy feel of the Junkers. Oh and for squares, you could have a the shroud offset so that it kind of interlocks with nearby shrouded squares. Although, now that I think about it, that kind of looks like a swastika... yeah maybe not.
Another little suggestion, I was thinking you could add station blocks, with much higher density than normal armor, but higher health. This could make stations more durable but also keep you from giving their high health blocks to regular ships (unless you wanted a really slow mothership or something cool like that).
Anyways, yeah man, keep up the good work on this mod, it's shaping up to look pretty great.
Hey Man, thanks for responding! Also, thanks a lot for the clarification on the link between thruster strength and flame output. I'd like to give another couple of suggestions.
Concerning thrusters, this would of course be a pretty big change, I was thinking that instead of thrusters being the main source of speed, they'd be more of a travel/maneuverability thing, with the turbines being the way you make quick combat maneuvers and such, or if you're charging at an enemy/running away from them. This way, not only would the aesthetic problem of the thruster flames be put out (heh), but this would also provide an interesting dynamic for the movement of the faction, as you would have to sacrifice speed for firepower, or vice versa, or just get a ridiculous number of thrusters, and the P cost that comes with that. This would be pretty significant so I understand if you don't like the idea.
1) I kind of agree, the larger ones especially are large, but it's linked to strength so I'd prefer not to nerf them since speed is one of their only advantages
2) Melee is currently a little tough in reassembly since it's almost always broken OP or just useless with very little inbetween, but I think giving the decorational spikes more health and weak melee to at least reduce impact damage would be a good idea.
A category of weapons I think you should implement are fixed weapons. I just think that would be pretty neat, to have some more powerful but less maneuverable, and I think the added variety would fit with the theme of the faction. Also, shotguns would be a great addition considering the theme of the faction.
Last thing, I suppose, is that laser weapons would be a cool addition. Especially burst lasers, I think they would really fit. Also, if you could make them inaccurate (I'm not sure if that's something you can do) you could maybe make a laser shotgun.
These were just some things that came to mind when I checked out your mod, I really think it's sick dude, keep it up! I'll give you more suggestions if any come to mind :)

Something I think you should look into is more unique melee weapons. For instance, I think a buzz saw block would be badass, Maybe it could just be a big octagon or something, or if possible an octagon with some triangles on it. I don't know how making custom blocks works, but I think that'd be cool. If you can't do anything too extreme, maybe add some more melee weapons like the spikes, but in different shapes. For instance, you could have a sort of cleaver block, with an aesthetic edge like the spikes, but on one edge of a rectangle, so you could add it to the front of a real big ship or something.
Hey, I've looked at the faction, and I've got to say it's one I've been waiting for for a long time, the interesting and unique weapons are really cool, and the variety of cosmetic blocks and the custom shapes all look awesome, and I can now make some really neat looking ships (I especially appreciate the exhaust vents). That being said, I have some suggestions.
One that is really not a big deal, you don't even have to consider it, it's just a matter of personal taste, I'd like the jet engines to make a little less visual thruster flames, I just think it looks a bit too overwhelming personally, and I don't know if it's linked to the thruster strength or what. Again, this is just personal. Although, if you do like how it is now, but you still like the suggestions or you think others fell the same, maybe you could make another set of thrusters that look the same, but output less thruster flame.
